"How's my favorite cus doing, huh? Miss me much?" Lu Chen beamed from the chair. He was handsome and goofy, but he was all poker face and turned mouth whenever business was involved. That was why Ezekiel liked him in the first place. "Get your filthy legs off my couch, ch," Ezekiel said as he closed the door behind him with a gentle twack. Took off his shoes and bent to roll off his socks, right first, left second. He placed his briefcase on the couch beside his cousin and sighed in relief as his bare foot met the polished, cold marble. "How was it?" Lu Chen asked seriously. His legs were tucked into the throw pillows. Ezekiel nodded and sighed. They could only be talking about one particular "i,t," which was his son's condition. "Worse. Much worse," Ezekiel responded. He checked the diamond custom-made wristwatch that was strapped on his left wrist and smiled. He was right on time. "What now? What about that paediatrician you hired?" Lu Chen asked, concern written all over his face. Lu Chen was head over heels for his godson, and he would do anything to ensure their happiness and safety. "He said the same thing as the last ten. And yes, I did not hire him. It was only a consultation," he chided flatly. He glanced at his wristwatch again, 8:38. It was time for dinner. "I'm going to get dinner. Ezekiel stood up abruptly and headed into the dining room. Though he was one of the most feared and honored CEO in all of Asia, he only had three staffers in his huge house. The house had been his first design when he first got into real estate management, and he bought it within a second. He still has the Guinness record for that. Paying a whopping sum of 183 billion dollars within a second was surely worth it. Lu Chen followed his cousin into the dining room, and they sat down to eat the piping hot food that was arranged on the long silver dining table. "Where are they?" Ezekiel inquired with a tilt of his head. "I tucked them in not long ago. They're probably snoring now," LuChenn replied with a smile. Ezekiel finished his food on time and walked into the master bedroom to check on his sons. There they were, sleeping like everything was going perfectly. Ezekiel peered down at the two identical scrunched noses of his adorable son, and the feeling of protectiveness spread in his chest. They were all hadas. They were all that mattered. He walked out of the room with a smile on his face, closing the door to face Lu Chen. Ezekiel shook his head in amusement and sidestepped him to go back to the living room. "How are they?" Lu Chen asked, even though he was the one who tucked them into bed. "Fine" was the curt reply he got. Lu Chen stared at the back of his cousin's head, wondering if he could chug his slippers on his head and disguise it as an accident. The man was nothing more than a block of ice, sculpted by the most brilliant artist. His face was enough to send the modelling company and their models spiraling out of control. But his cold and aloof demeanor was what made people steer clear of him. He was cold and calculating, precise and uncaring. Ezekiel got out of the shower, water clinging to his lean muscles and pecs. He toweled off his hair, sending it scattering into an adorable ruffle. He grabbed his phone from the nightstand and dialed a number. The receiver picked up on the third ring. "Hello?" James's voice was groggy and slurred. "Send me the analytical stats of the sales margin for the new products," He required with ruthless efficiency. "E...excuse me?" James stuttered Ezekiel glared at the invisible James and said into the phone. "Is the cognitive part of your brain damaged?" Ezekiel pinched his brows and wondered. Was his secretary not functioning well now that it was nighttime? Is it time to change to a new secret, right then? "I'll send it, sir," he replied with a fake enthusiasm. James covered the speaker with his thumb and groaned audibly into his room. His brain throbbed with an unconcealed headache, and he muttered a curse. "I need it before the hour runs out. Ezekiel hung up and threw his phone on the king-sized bed. Meanwhile, James is considering going into witchery and Voodooism. Perhaps he could ask them for help to murder his boss. He had just gotten back from a night out and he was dunk into a nightmare. He groaned, the frustration leaking from his voice. He grabbed his laptop and sat on the bed, wondering where the hell he was supposed to start from. He was still contemplating when his ringtone filled the room. He lunged for his phone and strained for an amicable voice when he saw the screen. "Sir?" He answered "I also need the merger contract drawn up before tomorrow". "I..i___" the line went off It was at this moment that James drew a fatal and important conclusion. His boss was a robot! Because what else could he be? So, because he was this bot that doesn't need to rest or eat or anything, that doesn't mean the rest of the staff members are the same as him!
