Two Years Later
The next day after her heartbreak, Aria had gotten a scholarship to Miland College, and it's been two years since then.
Since ensuring that her grades always remain high was the only thing she had to do, Aria had given herself to her books ever since she stepped her feet into Miland College to study marketing.
The only downside about it was that she had to stay in the dorm instead of with her grandmother because her house was extremely far from the college. At first, she was sad about it, but she slowly got used to it, just as she also got used to not hearing from Damien.
Her grandmother had told her that he left after receiving a call, but after that day, she no longer heard from him, nor did he reply to any of her messages or calls. It was as if he completely went off the radar and no longer wanted anything to do with her.
It was sad, but she got over it, and meeting new people who were humans and most werewolves helped.
Attending Miland College made Aria realize that the humans who were in Miland City were actually one-third of the population, while the remaining two-thirds were either werewolves or witches, and they had a pack.
Aria never knew what a pack was or its importance because her grandmother never told her any of those things. So learning about these new details made her realize that she didn't know much about her kind.
"That will be it for today's class. We will have our test next week and then get ready for the exam." The female lecturer said, and after she left, everyone stood up to leave as well.
Aria came outside of the classroom to see her only friend and roommate waiting for her.
"Why are you here? Are you done with your classes, or are you skipping them?" Aria asked, narrowing her eyes at her friend, Hailey.
Hailey rushed to hold Aria's arm and said, "I'm done with classes, and since today is Friday, I knew you would be done as well. I can't let my pretty friend walk to the dorm alone."
Aria laughed and knew Hailey wanted something, but didn't call her out for it because walking with her to the dorm was more fun than walking alone.
After they reached their dorm, Aria placed her books on her desk and said, "Now, tell me, what is it you want from me?"
Hailey chuckled softly and asked, "Was it that obvious?"
"It was very obvious."freewebnøvel_com
"I want you to accompany me to go shopping."
"Shopping? Is there a party?"
"Not just any party, Aria. It is THE PARTY, hosted by Alpha Tristan himself."
"An Alpha is the king of a pack, right?" Aria asked, trying to remember all that Hailey had taught her about the wolves.
"Correct, but Alpha Tristan is different."
"Why is he different?"
"Because he is considered the Alpha of all Alphas. He is twenty-eight, but rumors say that he is older than twenty-eight, but it doesn't matter because he is so hot."
"Wow, are you the same Hailey who is usually picky with guys?"
"You won't understand unless you see him for yourself."
"No thanks, I'm not in a pack, so I'm not getting an invite. But is that why you want to go shopping, to capture this Alpha Tristan's attention?
"Oh no. As hot as he is, he is dangerous, and also he lost his mate and his sight many years ago, and some rumors say he was the one who killed his mate, and in the process of her fighting back, he lost his sight."
"That's scary."
"It is, but it still hasn't stopped ladies from chasing after him. Even though he is blind, those greedy noblemen still force their daughters to get close to him."
"Why? I mean, who would want their daughter to marry a blind man?"
"Oh, sweet Aria, you truly are innocent in this world. Do you have any idea how many women would die just to become Tristan Luna? The power, prestige, and authority that come with that position are beyond mouthwatering."
"Is he that powerful?"
"He is blind, but he is still considered the Alpha of the Alphas; that alone should tell you how powerful he is. Although the pressure from his pack to get a Luna has been high, Tristan remains cold towards women."
"Lucky him. He is blind but still has women bowing at his feet; he must be charming."
"So, will you help me?"
"Only if you tell me the truth. Are you hoping he picks you?"
"I am hoping to find my mate at the party."
Aria smiled and replied, "Fine, I will accompany you to the shopping mall. I would also like to get my grandmother something fancy as well."
"Yes!" Hailey shouted and hugged Aria tightly.
"I can't breathe."
"Oh, sorry." Hailey immediately released her "I was just so excited."
"I could tell," Aria said, and felt her phone buzzing in her hand.
"Who is calling? Sorry, that is a stupid question because no one except your grandmother calls you." Hailey teased
"Haha, very funny." Aria scoffed and looked at the number calling her. It wasn't a saved number, nor did she recognize it.
Could it be Damien? There was a little excitement in her heart as she thought of her friend she hadn't spoken to in two years, so she answered the call with the hope that his voice would be the next thing she would hear.
"Hello."
"Is this Miss Aria Wilson?" A female voice asked.
"Yes, and you are?"
"I'm a nurse at Miland City Hospital."
"Hospital?"
"Your grandmother is very ill, and the doctor has refused to treat her without any deposit. You must come here right away."
Aria's voice trembled as she said, "I...I will be there right away."
"What's wrong?" Hailey asked in concern as Aria cleaned tears from her eyes.
"I need to go," Aria just said before she ran out of the dorm.
"Aria!" Hailey called out loudly even though she had already left.
Hailey brought out her phone from her bag and bit her finger for a few seconds before she dialed a number.
After the call got connected, she said, "She just left."
