Li Xingmao said nothing, holding his daughter in one hand and leading his son with the other as they walked down the mountain, ignoring the Xue Family.
Xue Family’s face looked grim, and she quickly followed.
The family came together again.
They couldn’t find anything to eat, and after climbing the mountain, they were even hungrier now.
Everyone squatted halfway and didn’t want to move anymore.
Princess Consort Wei asked Prince Luling Li Boxuan, "Your Highness, what should we do now? It’s getting dark..."
Originally, even if the young man hadn’t given them anything to eat earlier, they could have rested at the boy’s doorstep.
The courtyard was spacious and clean, and sitting there brought a sense of peace.
But after the Xue Family caused trouble by wanting to sell Li Yuzhu, everyone felt ashamed and didn’t want to stay at the young man’s place anymore.
The dignified Lu Ling Royal Mansion had fallen to the point of selling a daughter; wouldn’t this become a laughing stock if it got out?
Rather die of hunger than sell!
Li Boxuan looked around, "Let’s rest here for the night, figure something out when it gets light tomorrow."
He was tired of walking, too, so he sat down, leaning against a big tree.
The others found their places to sit down as well.
Great Princess Li Yuwen and Second Princess Li Yu En, who were timid, sat close to Princess Consort Wei.
Li Xingmao and the Xue Family arrived last, and when everyone saw them approaching, no one spoke.
Li Xingmao quietly nudged the Xue Family, signaling her to apologize to the family.
Xue Family kept her head down, saying nothing.
Princess Consort Wei glanced at her and said sternly, "Considering the two young children, I won’t punish you today, but say another word like earlier, don’t blame me for being rude!"
Xue Family’s expression changed, "Yes."
At this time, Second Young Master Li Xingsheng suddenly said, "Eh? Where did the third brother and the third sister go?"
Princess Consort Wei complained, "You all just care about walking; don’t you ever look after the two of them? Do you even act like older brothers and sisters?"
Great Princess Li Yuwen mumbled, "They fall behind even while following, such idiots!"
Second Princess Li Yu En looked wronged, "Mother Consort, my third brother is four years older than I; why do I have to look after him?"
"I was watching Guoguo and Jingjing, and wasn’t paying attention for a moment." Li Xingmao frowned.
Xue Family said nothing.
Everyone turned their eyes to Second Young Master Li Xingsheng.
Li Xingsheng looked baffled, "Why are you all looking at me?"
Prince Luling got anxious, "Second, hurry back and search for them!"
Li Xingsheng felt a headache. "Yes!"
He quickly ran back.
Li Yuzhu and Li Xing’an supported each other as they walked down the mountain.
After walking for a while, Li Xing’an suddenly shouted excitedly, "I see a rabbit, let’s catch it and roast it!"
Li Yuzhu was also hungry; hearing there was a rabbit lifted her spirit.
"Where did it run off to?"
"It went over there!" Li Xing’an pointed ahead and said.
"Let’s go, chase after it and see." Li Yuzhu was delighted.
So, the two of them energetically chased forward.
By chance, that rabbit ran and ran, and crashed into a tree.
Thud—
It fell to the ground, motionless.
"Hey, I encountered a rabbit waiting by the stump!" Li Yuzhu ran over, happily picking it up.
It’s quite plump, about four or five pounds, right?
Li Xing’an laughed, "Third sister knows about waiting by the stump for a rabbit, smart girl!"
Li Yuzhu was speechless; was she that dull?
"I heard it from the nanny when I was little." She chuckled shyly.
Li Xing’an rubbed her hair, "I knew it, my third sister isn’t stupid; look, she remembers stories from when she was young."
Being patted on the head by a boy younger than herself, Li Yuzhu couldn’t help but laugh, "Alright, let’s go back, father and mother must be worried."
