Chapter 2: waking up
Words : 1515

[Congratulations, user, we wish you the best of luck in your new beginning]
After reading these wor, I once more return to the darkness of nothingness.
When I next come back to consciousness, I know things have changed, for one, I can actually feel something instead of the absolute lack of feelings I had in that void.
I first try to open my eyes, which thankfully work, and I am greeted by a beautiful blue sky with what appears to be 2 suns in the sky, one being the yellow that I am used to, with the other being a deep azure blue. This first view of my new world truly stuns me, and I spend quite some time just admiring the view. The blue sun seems to be slightly behind the yellow one, almost in a half crescent, but I can see it slowly moving out from behind it in real time. I don’t know quite how to take this, so instead of getting stuck up on this, definitely normal celestial hijinks, I go to sit up and take in my surroundings.
I appear to be in a small clearing within a sparse bit of Forest. I blink a few times as nuggets of information seem to drift into my mind, letting me know that I am on the outskirts of the Tenebre Forrest, guess that’s the info packages I'm not getting coming through for me. Before I can follow that line of thought any further, I am created by my first system screen since waking up.

"Hu!" I can’t help but blurt out, Why are both my stats and class locked I ponder. Almost as soon as the thought has entered my head, I receive an answer from the system.
The [new beginnings system will fully unlock and change once you have experienced enough of your new world to start down your own path]
Well, that clears up something, I guess.s, It seems like I’ll have to just live my life for a while until something changes in that aspect. My next thought is finding out what my mysterious boon actually is.
Magically malleable - your body can be moulded to a certain extent. This can be initiated by yourself or by another.
So I am a partial shapeshifter, I guess?! Speaking of shape, though, I decide I should probably get to know my new body and glance down to immediately panic as I realise I am stark naked!
I was not expecting my first experience in a new world to be streaking through the woods, but beggars can't be choosers, I guess. After the initial panic settles down, I take in my body properly this time., I seem to be the same height as I was before, settling at around 5ft4in with a modest bust; however, I now have a, for lack of a better word, more graceful build, a narrow waist into gently flaring hips coupled with long legs for my height. I have also definitely become leaner and have lost some of my previous weight. Plumpness. I next decide to feel my ears to see if I truly have become an elf, and yup, I have pointed ears! Thankful, they are not egregiously pointed, ty just regular-sized but with a noticeable point towards the back of my head.
My hair has stayed the same, still a bright red, but has gained certain refinement to it as it looks like iv just come out of a salon with its gentle curls reaching my mid back.
After checking myself over once more, I stand up and look around some more, trying to decide where I should go. Thankful, the system helps me out here.
[Quest - get magical
You have found yourself in an unfamiliar location, but you are not without protection.
Learn how to harness your magic and cast your first spell.
[rewards clothing]
Well, now that is exactly what I need! After reviving the quest to cast a spell, more knowledge seeps into my head courtesy of my basic magic pack, letting me know some of the basic principles of how to cast a spell.
It seems that whilst it is possible to just summon a fireball, this requires a certain affinity towards an element. In the above ca, it would require a fire affinity. Thankfully, affinity can be gained by gaining a better understanding of the element or concept you want to work with.
Seeing as I am within a forest and am an elf, I decide I should try giving nature magic a go, but I feel that whilst my current spot would work for raising my affinity, I have a feeling I can do better!
So I pick a direction and head off into the forest. Keeping as close a watch on my surroundings as I can whilst working on remaining as quiet as possible. As I do so, I try to grasp the feeling of nature surrounding me. The smell of the ground beneath my feet, how the bark of the trees feels under my palms as I pass them by, and the constant background noise of a thriving ecosystem.
I lose myself somewhat in being at peace with the world around me, failing to take note of how long I spend wandering through the woods. Eventually, I come across a truly gargantuan tree, it is easily 100m to the canopy, and who knows how much higher it reaches above that! Vines seem to have found a home along the lower portion of the trunk, and I spot a protruding root along the side closest to me that looks big enough for me to sit upon.
Deciding that this should be the best place for me currently, I plop myself down and cross my legs as I lean back against the trunk of this majestic tree.
Feeling inside myself, I try to reach out for the ephemeral mana that I know to be found flowing around my body, almost like a second set of veins, and I try to sync it with the feeling of the nature I have worked to immerse myself within.
Losing track of time once more, I find myself looking at the vines that seem so prevalent around me and imagine my magic flowing into them and causing the vines to move to my will. Surprisingly enough, it works! I feel a good chunk of my mana rush out from my hand closest to the vine in question and speed towards it. Once my mana soaks into the vine, it suddenly jerks up and lashes out at nothing, as I have no real target. But, I can't help but grin as I have just successfully cast my first ever spell!
[Congratulations, user, you have successfully harmonised with the nature around you and have cast your first spell]
Due to racial heritage and dedication, you have deepened your nature magic affinity and have unlocked the spell vine whi.p]
[quest complete!
Due to not only casting your first spell but also deepening your affinity with nature magic beyond the norm, your reward has been upgraded.
Reward - innate skill - flower dress]
[innate skill - flower dress - can summon a dress of flowers for a mild initial cost and no upkeep. Costs a mild amount of mana to repair the dress. Can infuse the dress with mana to provide added protection]
"Hell yeah!" I shout out in joy at my accomplishment. I end up doing a small happy dance around the giant tree whilst chanting "I have magic, I have magic!" Remembering that whilst I have magic, I am also currently quite naked still I decide to try out that innate skill that I unlocked. It is thankfully quite a simple thing to do; all I have to do is think of activating the skill, and a small amount of my mana spreads around my body and then slowly seeps out from my skin.
Where the mana leaves me a beautiful arrangement of flowers,s covers my figure in a delightful and quite revealing dress made of a mixture of autumnal coloured flowers. The dress has a loop around the back of my neck and comes around to the front in two sections to cover my breasts, but leaving quite the cleavage on display, eventually meeting together just above my navel to spread out into a loose skirt that reaches mid-thigh. There is no back to the dress, so it does a great job of showing off my lean and shapely figure. Looking down at myself, I can't help but grin at the fact that I can now summon clothes at will! Although quite revealing clothing, still, magic is awesome!
