"Flaming Inheritance? Opening the Heavenly Eye? I... I actually carry the ancient Gourge bloodline and have opened the Heavenly Eye for insight?"
Edmund felt the blood in his meridians boiling, and his body was instantly filled with strength.
Many pieces of information emerged in his mind, Gourge technique, Gourge Eight Badge Fist, medical skills, talisman skills, and geomancy...
After being stunned, he got up and charged at Milburn again.
Before Milburn could throw himself onto the bed, Edmund grabbed him by the waist.
Milburn tried to use his old trick to throw Edmund off but found that he couldn't move him!
Edmund's strength surged!
Merlot took the opportunity to get up from the bed and run outside.
Milburn became anxious. To get Merlot tonight, he had put a lot of pressure on Mrs. Conner.
Just when he was about to succeed, he didn't expect Edmund to desperately protect Merlot.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't break free from Edmund's hold.
Edmund's arms were like iron hoops, tightly binding him.
Suddenly, he pointed a finger under Edmund's armpit, hitting a pressure point.
Edmund's strength loosened, and he was thrown out again.
Although he had received the Flaming Inheritance, aside from increased strength, he had not yet mastered these peerless techniques and was still no match for Milburn.
Milburn wanted to chase after Merlot, but he heard the sound of a car roaring from downstairs.
Merlot had already driven away!
Edmund knew that Merlot was temporarily safe. His mouth was bleeding, but he looked at Milburn with a grim smile.
"You, waiting to be a widower, dare to mess with me, I'll kill you."
Milburn, feeling the swan meat slipping from his mouth, was extremely irritated and rushed to Edmund, punching and kicking him.
Edmund's body was soon covered in bruises and cuts, and several of his ribs were broken.
"Milburn... Merlot is my wife. You didn't kill me today... Old and new grudges... I will settle the score with you..." Edmund glared at Milburn.
He had awakened the Gourge bloodline and received the Flaming Inheritance. As long as he didn't die, he would soon become incredibly powerful. What was Milburn in comparison?
"You, a prisoner, still want to seek revenge on me?" Milburn, like a madman, continued to kick Edmund furiously.
Until Edmund was bloodied all over, his legs also broken, and he passed out, did the guy curse and leave.
...
After Milburn left, an Eight Badge diagram appeared out of nowhere above Edmund's body.
The Eight Badge diagram spun continuously, shooting out divine lights, completely enveloping Edmund.
About an hour later, the Eight Badge diagram retreated into Edmund's forehead.
Then Edmund woke up!
He quickly got up from the floor and checked himself over, finding that apart from being covered in blood, he had no injuries at all.
Moreover, he felt no pain or discomfort, but instead, his body was full of energy.
"The Gourge bloodline and inheritance are so powerful? This healing function is too strong, isn't it?"
"I've learned the medical skills of the ancestor Gourge, isn't curing my sister and Merlot a matter of minutes?"
"Doesn't that mean I've got a stunningly beautiful wife for free?"
"Milburn, you wait for me!"
After being immensely shocked, Edmund was overjoyed.
He touched the Eight Badge pendant on his neck, which had disappeared, but he could feel an Eight Badge diagram spinning continuously inside his forehead.
And when he concentratedly looked at the wardrobe in the room, he was stunned.
The wardrobe doors were closed, but he could clearly see the items inside, black silk, ultra-short skirts, and other intimate and sexy women's clothing, all kinds of them.
"Can I really see through?"
Edmund was incredibly excited, "If Merlot doesn't have to die, and serves me every night wearing these intimate clothes, that would be a truly enjoyable life."
After his blood boiled, he called Merlot. Thankfully, when they went to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get their marriage certificate during the day, he had pestered her into giving him her contact number and WeChat.
"Are you alright? Milburn... didn't... didn't do anything to you, did he?" As soon as the call connected, Merlot asked anxiously.
"Milburn has left, I'm fine. But you better hide tonight and not come back, in case that guy is still lurking around." Edmund said.
He obtained the Flaming Inheritance but had not yet practiced its techniques. If Merlot returned, it would actually be quite inconvenient.
"Alright, I'll come back tomorrow morning." Merlot quickly hung up the phone.
Edmund took a shower, washed off all the blood on his body, changed his clothes, sat cross-legged on the wooden floor, and began to practice the Gourge Technique from the Flaming Inheritance.
Before long, he felt a sensation of Qi in his dantian, and soon after, this Qi quickly circulated throughout his body.
One hour later, he had opened the Two Calvary Veins, and two hours later, he had opened The Eight Meridians.
"This progress is too fast," Edmund thought to himself, almost wanting to shout in excitement.
Having sensed Qi meant that he had already cultivated true Qi and was considered a martial artist. Opening the Two Calvary Veins meant he was a Heavenly Master, and opening The Eight Meridians meant he was an Innate Master.
It is said that becoming an Innate Master, besides requiring extremely high talent, would not be possible without twenty years of hard training.
Milburn had practiced martial arts for many years and was at the level of a Heavenly Master.
But with this rate of progress, Edmund estimated that in less than a week, he would open all the meridians in his body and become a martial arts grandmaster.
And all martial arts grandmasters were figures who traversed the world with awe!
Shocked by his progress, he increasingly realized the power of the Phoenix Bloodline and the inheritance.
Gourge was an ancient sage, one of the Three Sovereigns among the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, who, thousands of years ago, created the Eight Badge at Mount Kinefall. Martial arts, talismanic arts, medicine, and geomancy were all initiated by Gourge. Thinking of this, Edmund felt that any miraculous event happening to him was not too surprising.
Next, Edmund began to study medicine and Gourge Eight Badge.
With Gourge Technique as the foundation, whether it was medicine or martial arts, he learned quickly and practiced effectively.
By 1 a.m., Edmund had completely transformed. Not only had he become an Innate Master, proficient in Gourge Eight Badge, but he had also become a peerless divine doctor.
Recalling what happened in these few hours felt like a dream to him.
He drove overnight, bought a box of silver needles, and went to Heavenhill City's First Hospital.
His sister Brandy was only nineteen, studying at university in Greenveile City. After he went to prison last year, she must have suffered a lot.
In the hospital ward, Edmund saw his sister, Brandy.
Originally healthy and good-looking, she had become much thinner and her complexion had turned yellow due to severe uremia.
Because of the complications of uremia, she hadn't fallen asleep yet and was tossing and turning in bed.
"Edmund, did you... get out of prison early? I heard from a nurse earlier that you became a live-in son-in-law for the Conner family, but I didn't believe it. Although Merlot is a stunning beauty, everyone in Heavenhill City knows she won't live long."
Seeing Edmund, Brandy was very excited and threw herself into his arms.
"Brandy, you've suffered this year. Now that I'm proficient in medicine, I can cure your uremia after bringing you home. You don't need to wait for a kidney source anymore. Merlot will not die. Don't worry about anything. And, I won't be a live-in son-in-law, I'll marry Merlot grandly and bring her home," Edmund said emotionally.
Brandy was skeptical but still proceeded to complete the hospital discharge procedures with Edmund.
At around 4 a.m., they drove back home.
They, the siblings, lived in a small alley in the old town area of Heavenhill City, where their parents had left them a house.
It was deep into the night, and the alley was completely deserted.
Bang!
Just as Edmund and Brandy got out of the car, a thud was heard. Something fell from a building nearby, crashing onto the road in the alley.
"Someone jumped off the building!"
That was Edmund's first thought. He immediately rushed over, only to find a stunningly beautiful woman in her late twenties, dressed in black tight-fitting clothes, lying on the ground.
The woman had fallen from the building and was severely injured, bleeding from her mouth and barely alive, apparently trying to call for help with her phone in hand.
"Portia, this time next year will be your death anniversary!"
The next moment, three masked men jumped down from the building, quickly surrounding the stunningly beautiful woman. The leader, a bald man, even mocked her coldly.
Before the bald man could reach her, a dart shot towards the stunningly beautiful woman's throat with great force.
Had the dart hit its mark, the stunningly beautiful woman would have no chance of surviving.
Edmund caught the dart between two fingers.
Then, with a flick of his wrist, the dart flew back, narrowly missing the masked bald man's face.
Of course, this wasn't because Edmund's aim was off, but rather he did not wish to injure anyone. He just wanted to intimidate these masked men.
Overnight, he was no longer the person who could be easily bullied, but had become a master in both medicine and martial arts!
"Retreat!"
Realizing they had encountered a master, the lead masked man, shocked, understood they had lost the opportunity to kill Portia and quickly disappeared into the night.
"Who are you? Can you... take me to the hospital..." The stunningly beautiful woman, Portia, asked weakly, looking at Edmund.
"My name is Edmund. My home is right here. Your meridians are damaged, and you have severe internal injuries. Going to the hospital might be too late," Edmund replied after briefly checking Portia's injuries and quickly carried her into his house.
He placed Portia on a cool mat in the living room, laying her flat, and asked his sister to watch the door. If anyone approached, she was to immediately alert them.
Then he took out the box of silver needles he had bought before going to the hospital.
"Mr. Dawson, my injuries are too severe, and I've been poisoned. Acupuncture can't save me..." Portia sighed.
"Excuse me," Edmund said without explaining further. He put Portia's phone aside, then tore off her clothes.
In just a second or two, Portia was left in nothing but her undergarments.
Her figure was indeed stunning, with skin as white as snow, a slender waist, long beautiful legs, and voluptuous curves, utterly captivating.
Edmund was so mesmerized that he was shaken to his core.
He hadn't expected this woman to have such an explosive figure besides her stunning beauty.
"What are you doing? You... you bastard, if you dare to take advantage of me, I swear I have a thousand ways... to make your life worse than death..." Portia was both shocked and angry.
However, due to her severe injuries, she was practically immobile and couldn't do anything.
