Simba was not only tall and muscular, clearly having trained in the gym, but also good at fighting.
Sherry's expression revealed a cold smile, posing as if she was ready to enjoy the show. In her view, Simba could knock down Edmund with just a few punches and kicks.
The employees of Dragon Group who were watching also thought Edmund was about to suffer a big loss, because Simba was a tough character who was fierce in fights and had never been defeated.
However, they all watched with the excitement of spectators, with not a single one stepping forward to stop the fight.
Edmund stood unmovable like a mountain, secretly holding two silver needles he had bought last night, always carrying them with him.
Simba's speed was very fast, like a charging horse, but before he could get close to Edmund, his legs suddenly went weak in a bizarre manner, he slipped and fell to his knees in front of Edmund with a thud.
"Why are you kneeling before me? Have you realized your mistake?"
Edmund said to Simba, "But even if you beg for mercy, it's useless. You've sided with the oppressor, I will not spare you."
Sherry's expression changed. The usually brave Simba had faltered at such a moment, which was truly embarrassing.
Little did she know that Edmund now was an Innate Master at the pinnacle level, capable of using hidden weapons without anyone noticing, even in the presence of many onlookers.
Simba had just been struck by the silver needles secretly deployed by Edmund, causing him to suddenly kneel down. Moreover, in a few days, Simba would suffer from reverse blood flow and endure torture until death.
"I'll cut you down." Simba, having lost face, quickly got up and charged at Edmund again, thinking it was just an accident before.
Thud!
This time, his charge was fiercer, and his fall was more tragic, face-planting so badly that he lost two teeth and started foaming at the mouth, rolling on the ground and convulsing as if he had epilepsy.
The onlookers were stunned, wondering what was wrong with Simba.
What was happening in broad daylight seemed so bizarre.
"Simba, with so many people watching, don't falsely accuse me. I was several meters away from you, just spoke a few words, and didn't touch you." Edmund said with a smile.
"Security, catch this troublemaker."
After being embarrassed twice in front of Edmund, Sherry felt something was wrong, but couldn't pinpoint what it was, so she could only shout towards the security guards at the company entrance.
Instantly, four security guards surrounded Edmund.
Of course, Edmund was not afraid at all. If these security guards sided with the oppressor, he wouldn't mind rewarding each of them with a silver needle.
"What are you doing, stop it right now!" Accompanied by a sharp cry, a young woman with an exceptional presence, dressed in white with a black skirt, red high heels, wearing sunglasses, and with an exceptionally strong aura, accompanied by four men with buzz cuts, quickly approached.
This young woman was none other than Portia, the beauty Edmund had saved last night.
"The chairman has arrived..." an onlooker voiced.
The four security guards immediately ceased their actions, standing straight and saluting to Portia, "Chairman!"
"Is she the chairman of Dragon Group? The boss of Milburn, Sherry, and Simba whom I saved last night? Will she side with me or them?"
Upon learning Portia's identity, Edmund was intrigued.
This was too much of a coincidence.
"Chairman, this guy named Edmund was my boyfriend during university. We have long broken up. Right after he was released from prison, he came to harass me, insulted me and Manager Simba, and even hurt Simba. He needs to be arrested and sent to the police station."
But Sherry approached Portia and played the victim first.
"Edmund harassing you? Just now, he didn't lay a hand on anyone. It was Simba who was preparing to attack. I saw it all clearly. How dare you distort the truth in front of me?"
Portia's expression turned cold, her tone ice-cold.
With a raise of her hand, she slapped Sherry.
Pow!
Sherry's face instantly bore several finger marks and quickly swelled up.
At that moment, Portia was imposing.
And the onlookers were shocked, as Portia had never hit an employee in the company before. Sherry was the first to be struck!
"Chairman, I..." Sherry covered her face, appearing wronged.
"You two are fired. Your salaries will be credited to your accounts by the finance department. From now on, there's no need to come to the company. Get lost immediately." Portia didn't give Sherry another chance to speak, coldly throwing out a sentence.
Being fired for offending Edmund?
This was something Sherry hadn't expected. In an instant, her showed a pale expression.
They had made a good amount of money working under Milburn for a year. Switching to another company wouldn't yield as much profit, a huge loss for them.
"President, why is this happening?" Simba spat out a mouthful of foam, momentarily relieved, and got up from the ground, mustering the courage to ask.
He had been embarrassed enough earlier, and losing his job would truly be a misfortune.
Portia indifferently said, "Edmund is my honoured guest, yet you spoke nonsense in front of him, showing great disrespect. Moreover, you should be very clear about what you have done to Edmund. My company does not need people of such low quality."
Sherry and Simba stood still, not daring to say anything else.
Edmund was also surprised. Although he had saved Portia's life, he hadn't expected her to protect him like this.
The employees who were watching were all surprised. Who exactly was Edmund, for the president to value him so much?
From Sherry and Simba's words, it seemed Edmund was just released from prison!
"Are you still here watching? Don't you have work to do? Aren't you afraid of being late and having your pay docked?"
Portia seemed to know what the employees were thinking, looked around, and coldly said.
The watching employees scattered like birds, clocking in for work.
Obviously, they were very afraid of Portia, the beautiful CEO.
"Mr. Dawson, I was actually looking for you. I didn't expect you to come to my company. I'm really sorry for such scum in my company. Let's go to my office for a cup of tea to calm down," Portia walked up to Edmund, her tone shifting from cold and arrogant towards Sherry and the others to extremely gentle.
Soon, Edmund and Portia entered the Pentonly Chamber of Commerce together.
"This Edmund, wasn't he just released from prison yesterday? How did he get involved with Portia? This guy is really lucky!"
Sherry was so angry she was about to vomit blood.
"This bastard caused us to lose our jobs. We can't let this go. I will make him pay for today's incident," Simba said hatefully.
He didn't know that Edmund had already used a method on him, and his days were numbered.
...
In the CEO's office of the Pentonly Chamber of Commerce, spanning over eighty square meters, luxuriously decorated and tasteful.
As soon as Edmund sat down on the sofa, Portia sat next to him.
"Edmund, I had something urgent last night and left. You wouldn't think I'm ungrateful, right?" Portia said with a smile, "You saved my life, and of course, I will repay you well, even if it means offering myself. After all, you've seen almost everything of me."
She was passionately warm, her words filled with endless charm.
Moreover, her glancing eyes and the fragrance emanating from her made Edmund's heart race.
"Mrs. Stones, I came here today not to find you but for another important matter. I just didn't expect you to be the owner of the Pentonly Chamber of Commerce," Edmund steadied his spirit and said.
This woman was extremely charming. If he hadn't spent a year in prison and received the Flaming Inheritance, enhancing his mental strength, he definitely wouldn't have been able to resist.
Moreover, he dared not stare at Portia, fearing that his Eye of Insight would activate, seeing some things he shouldn't, which could make him nosebleed.
"Calling me Mrs. Stones makes you seem distant. I'm three years older than you. You can call me Portia. You don't have to say it, I know you're here to settle accounts with Milburn. I've received many complaints about Milburn recently. After investigation, he indeed is a parasite to the company. Whatever you want me to do about him, I can comply."
Portia leaned closer to Edmund, whispering, "Even if he hasn't made mistakes in the company, but he has done unforgivable things to you, I will support you in whatever way you want to teach him a lesson."
Her breath was fragrant, making Edmund's heart itch.
"This woman, her methods are formidable. In just a few hours, she investigated my situation and the purpose of my visit. She's definitely not just the owner of the Pentonly Chamber of Commerce."
Edmund was startled internally.
However, with Portia's help, teaching Milburn a lesson today just became easier.
"Portia, thank you then," Edmund said.
"Don't be too quick to thank me. I have a favor to ask of you, and you can't refuse," Portia naturally took Edmund's arm, her body pressing close to him.
"Portia, please tell me."
With this gentle and fragrant presence close to him, Edmund internally exclaimed in difficulty.
This woman was indeed adept at changing her demeanour, sometimes as cold as an iceberg, and at other times as passionate as a volcanic eruption.
