"Your medical skills are unparalleled in the world, and I would like to ask you to treat someone for me. As for the consultation fee, you can name your price. If you want to settle accounts with Milburn, and if the Conner Corporation wants to become a material supplier for our Pentonly Chamber of Commerce, all these can be easily arranged," Portia said softly.
"Portia, speaking of which, we are helping each other, so I won't charge a consultation fee. However, I'm afraid I don't have time today," Edmund thought for a moment and said.
He was about to go back and meet with Merlot, to visit Mrs. Conner at the old Conner family house.
Being so close to this beautiful woman, he was truly feeling a bit restless.
"Then I'll contact you tomorrow. For now, please accept this check for two million. If you find the amount insufficient, would you accept my offer of myself to make up for it? In the office, it could be quite an interesting experience," Portia giggled, took Edmund's hand, and stuffed a check into it.
Portia's flirtation made Edmund's face turn somewhat red, completely unable to resist.
His wife, Merlot, was cold to him, but Portia was passionate, and from last night until today, he had truly experienced a stark contrast between cold and heat!
...
At 8.30 in the morning, inside the office of the director of the marketing department at the Pentonly Chamber of Commerce.
Director Milburn was embracing his voluptuous secretary on the leather sofa, his hands wandering all over her.
About ten minutes ago, Simba and Sherry ran into Edmund and were reprimanded by Portia, after which they called Milburn. However, Milburn's phone was on silent mode, and he did not notice.
"Mr. Milburn, please don't be like this, this... this is the office, and doing this in broad daylight... isn't right..." the secretary said in a coquettish voice, playing hard to get, although, she and Milburn had not been the first time doing such affairs in the office.
"I was provoked by Merlot last night, and now I can only turn to you to quench my thirst. Of course, I'm just whetting my appetite with you. Merlot will come to apologize to me by this afternoon at the latest, and that will be the real feast," Milburn said with a smirk, intensifying his actions.
Suddenly, the door to the office opened, and someone walked in slowly.
"Can't you see I'm busy? Get out of here right now!" Milburn scolded without even looking to see who it was, his hands continuing their movements on the secretary.
"Milburn, what an elegant hobby you have," a cold voice said after the door was closed.
Upon hearing this voice, Milburn instantly shivered.
He looked up to find that the person was Edmund!
"You're alright after all. It seems you didn't get beaten up too badly in jail. You have quite the resilience," Milburn said with a surprised laugh. "You were sent by Mrs. Conner to apologize to me, right? But, it's useless for you to come, your wife, Merlot, has to do it. If she makes me comfortable in the office today, I'll let last night's incident slide, and the Conner family will still have the chance to be the material supplier for the Pentonly Chamber of Commerce."
He had beaten Edmund badly last night, leaving him bloodied, but unexpectedly, Edmund was fine.
"You want my wife to apologize?" Edmund scoffed. "You're really dreaming! Daydreaming!"
He closed the office door, waved his hand, and a silver needle, swift as lightning, shot into Milburn's lower abdomen.
The speed of the silver needle was too fast, and although Milburn was a Heavenly Master, he didn't see it clearly.
"What... what did you do to me?" Milburn felt a chill enter his body from his lower abdomen, causing him to shiver instantly.
"I've made it so you can't be a man anymore. From now on, even if you want to harm women, you won't be able to," Edmund said coldly.
"You dare to ambush me? I didn't finish you off last night, but today, I'll make sure you enter upright and leave horizontally!" Milburn was furious, pushed the secretary aside, and lunged at Edmund, throwing a punch at him.
As a beginner Heavenly Master, he had already cultivated internal energy, and although he had indulged in pleasure these past years, his punch was still fierce.
But Edmund stood unmoving as a mountain, seemingly ignoring the punch. When Milburn's fist was close, he slightly sidestepped, avoiding the punch.
In the next instant, he shouldered Milburn, directly knocking him flying.
Milburn's secretary, upon seeing this scene, was so frightened that she wanted to scream, but was instantly knocked unconscious by a silver needle shot by Edmund with lightning speed.
Milburn, having crashed into the wall and fallen to the ground with blood at the corner of his mouth, had already suffered internal injuries.
He was in utter panic. Just last night, he could bully Edmund, but now, Edmund had become so powerful. What on earth was going on?
He tried to get up but found it difficult to stand.
Edmund approached him, waved his hand, and nine silver needles shot into Milburn's body.
The Gourge Divine Needles were not only capable of saving people. To punish someone, no one could withstand them.
In less than half a minute, Milburn started rolling on the ground. He felt as if his blood was flowing backward, his veins were about to burst at any moment, and it felt like countless small knives were slicing inside his body.
The pain was unbearable.
"Edmund, I... I'm dying... please spare me..."
After rolling for a while, Milburn knelt before Edmund, begging for mercy.
This time, he saw clearly how Edmund applied the needles and understood what was happening.
"Weren't you very arrogant before? Didn't you want my wife to apologize to you? Then keep being arrogant!"
Edmund looked down at Milburn with a cold smile, "Don't worry, you won't die yet. Later, you will only feel more pain! You have done so many bad things. If you were to die just like that, it would be too easy on you."
"Edmund... I was wrong. I can return Sherry to you, and I can compensate you for your losses... Please let me go..." Milburn stuttered, continuing to beg, knocking his head on the ground like pounding garlic, almost breaking his head.
However, the office was soundproofed, so no matter how much he wailed, people outside could not hear him.
"Sherry, that kind of woman, has already been passed around by you several times. Do you think I would want her back? As for my losses, can you afford to compensate? Even if you use your life to make up for it, it would not be enough!" Edmund said coldly.
Hearing this, Milburn was in utter despair.
Suddenly, the office door opened, and Portia walked in.
"Mr. President, you... you're here, please save me... catch this guy quickly."
Milburn, seeing a glimmer of hope, hurriedly sought help, as he had not truly submitted to Edmund before.
"Milburn, Edmund is my benefactor. You expect me to save you? Over the years, you have embezzled quite a bit in the company. I have been investigating you, and the evidence is conclusive, with a complete chain of evidence."
Portia sneered, "If you can listen to Mr. Dawson's arrangements and atone for your past actions, I can still give you a chance. Otherwise, I will call the police right away and send you to jail."
Upon hearing this, Milburn almost collapsed on the floor.
He was very aware of Portia's methods. Now that his weakness was in Portia's grasp, he had no choice but to obediently follow instructions, or else he would really end up in jail.
"Mr. President, I... I will listen to you and Mr. Dawson, please ask Mr. Dawson to relieve my pain first... otherwise... I really can't bear it anymore."
Soon, Milburn was completely subdued.
"Relieve the pain? If only you knew this earlier, why bother in the first place?"
Edmund sneered, "After doing so many bad things, do you think I would let you off so easily? I will come back after an hour. You can slowly endure the pain alone in the office. Moreover, unless I personally treat you, you will no longer be able to be a man."
After saying this, he left Milburn's office.
And Portia left with Edmund as well.
Milburn continued to roll on the office floor, wailing in pain!
...
At around nine in the morning, after Edmund finished his business at the Dragon Horse Group, he drove back to the villa and saw his father-in-law, Cathan, and mother-in-law, Rose, sitting on the sofa in the living room on the first floor, looking unhappy.
"Edmund, you sneaked out on your wedding night? That's really inappropriate!" Seeing Edmund return, Rose's expression darkened and she asked.
Last night, she and Cathan were drugged by Mrs. Conner and slept until eight in the morning, completely unaware of what had happened the night before.
She was 45 years old but still maintained a good figure, showing her charm from the past.
Cathan was fifty, of medium build, slightly overweight, but definitely handsome in his youth.
"Mother-in-law, if Merlot had let me into bed, on our big day, could I have run out?"
Edmund said with a smile, heading to the second-floor bedroom to find Merlot.
"Look, look, this is the quality of someone who has been in prison."
Rose, however, was so angry that she stomped her foot, telling Cathan, "Even though our daughter passed away not long ago, I did not agree to find such a person for Merlot as her husband."
"My father had wide connections back in the day. He sent out ten wedding invitations for Merlot, besides Edmund. According to rumours, all were from top-notch families, including magnates, medical saints, military heroes, disciples of cultivation sects, and even children of fortune."
Cathan sighed, "Merlot is so beautiful, even letting these top-notch family men be son-in-laws wouldn't be a disgrace, but now, with Merlot's condition, besides Edmund who has been in prison, who else would want to marry into the family?"
Fortunately, Edmund didn't hear this conversation, or he would have been furious, because the operation of these ten wedding invitations was really too much.
If he were to cure Merlot and let people know that Merlot has the Phoenix Bloodline, which is most auspicious for a husband, probably, men from these top-notch families would go crazy trying to snatch her for marriage...
