Ahem! Ahem! Ahem!
While coughing, Yelena's eyes slowly opened, and Mitchell's face gradually became visible before her.
"All done—let's call it a day." Mitchell smiled as he helped Yelena up, gently passing her into the arms of her female secretary.
The female secretary was overcome with joy, and while supporting Yelena, who was still somewhat weak, she repeatedly thanked Mitchell.
Suddenly, thunderous applause erupted in the cabin. The flight attendants and passengers, having witnessed Mitchell pull a heart attack patient back from the brink of death, couldn't contain their excitement and admiration for him.
"What a legendary doctor!"
"Sir, your medical skills are incredible. Which hospital are you from?"
"Thank you, young man! You've saved her life—I'm applauding your great action!"
Rowena tilted her head, observing Mitchell with a faint smile as he was surrounded by passengers.
In the absence of advanced medical equipment, Mitchell had relied on just a few silver needles to treat a heart attack in under five minutes. No doctors could achieve that at both the traditional and international levels.
Her grandfather, Tigre Ximenez, had once said that Mitchell's value was far greater than a billion dollars.
Rowena hadn't believed it then, but now, she found herself intrigued by him.
Yet, when a woman becomes interested in a man, an indissoluble bond often forms between them.
Shortly after, the plane landed at Southern Airport.
As soon as they disembarked, news of Mitchell's heroic deed spread like wildfire. Reporters swarmed him, thrusting microphones in his face to interview the mysterious young miracle doctor.
This startled Mitchell, who was unaccustomed to such attention. He clung to Rowena's waist for comfort.
Rowena raised an eyebrow, suspecting Mitchell of taking advantage of the situation.
But when the reporters noticed that the woman Mitchell was holding onto was Rowena, a prominent figure in the Lotusville business community, their eyes lit up—this was big news, perfect for headlines!
Amid the blinding camera flashes, Rowena's expression remained unchanged, as if she were accustomed to the spotlight.
"Ms. Ximenez, what is your relationship with this heroic young doctor?"
"You two seem very close. Are you a couple?"
"Or is the young miracle doctor your long-lost brother?"
At that moment, a group of men in black sunglasses rushed forward, their burly frames forming a barrier to hold back the noisy reporters and allow Mitchell and Rowena to leave.
This was the Ximenez family's security team—proof that, with enough money, one could be as willful as one wanted.
Rowena took Mitchell's hand and led him out of the airport. This scene quickly spread online.
Rowena was known in Lotusville as a "single aristocrat." Though she had many suitors, she had never been involved in any scandals.
But now, her gesture of holding Mitchell's hand drew overwhelming attention on the internet.
As the story continued to escalate, Mitchell, an unknown village doctor, became known as Rowena's rumored boyfriend. Some even speculated he was a loser living off Rowena financially.
The rumors weren't entirely off. Mitchell was indeed a man who lived off a woman. In just one meal, he had received money worth a billion dollars. He was practically a poster boy for Boytoy!
As Rowena led Mitchell away, thoughts of the money crossed his mind.
Bowen had arranged the marriage but hadn't given him a cent. This didn't seem fair.
Mitchell muttered under his breath, "By the way, Rowie, could you contact my grandfather and ask him to share some of the money with me? I'd be satisfied with a 30-70 split... 20-80 would work too!"
Rowena glanced at him and replied calmly, "Our family isn't short of money. Since you're with me, you won't ever be short on spending money."
"Rowie, you're really something else!" Mitchell took a sharp breath, surprised by the female CEO's domineering attitude.
But as he thought about Rowena's words, he felt a strange sensation, as if he were being taken care of by a wealthy woman.
And that was precisely the case. Rowena was famously affluent—often called a "rich woman." Alongside Nina, she was one of the two richest women in Lotusville.
With fair skin and an elegance that matched, Rowena possessed wealth and wielded her power with easy confidence, unafraid to make bold choices.
Being in her presence was an absolute honor, and even more desirable than having money.
Yet Mitchell, who was desperate to leave the mountains, was already planning his escape. Completely unaware of his good fortune, he seemed less adept at handling life's blessings than his father had been in the past.
While Mitchell schemed his "escape plan," Rowena suddenly halted, pinning him with a sharp, piercing look.
"Ro… Rowie, why aren't we leaving? And don't look at me like that; it's scary…" Mitchell pretended to be timid, feigning vulnerability.
Rowena, who had a particular aversion to the idea of cheating, couldn't shake off what had happened on the plane.
"I know you're treating her, but why did you touch her legs?" Rowena's tone was icy.
"Huh? Oh… I see, you're talking about that." Mitchell looked briefly dazed before realizing she was referring to when he'd treated Yelena on the plane.
With a wry smile, Mitchell explained, "Rowie, I'm a traditional medicine doctor. To doctors, patients are patients—gender doesn't matter. And I already explained that tearing her stockings was to prevent myocardial infarction. As the ancients said, doctors must have benevolent hearts. A doctor's heart is far from a lustful one…"
Despite his defense, Rowena's gaze remained sharp. She'd noticed that Mitchell had taken advantage of the situation while treating the woman.
The woman mused, "What a typical man!"
But Mitchell's eyes dropped momentarily, taking in Rowena's almost otherworldly figure, and he immediately came up with another defense.
"Rowie, I'm an honest person," he said, "I have to say, that woman's legs were nothing compared to yours! They're not as long, not as straight, and nowhere near as stunning as yours. Really, they're not even on the same level! If I had to put it in simple terms—your legs are perfect; other women's legs are just modes of transportation!"
His tone was firm and earnest, and Rowena's cold expression softened. A faint, hard-to-detect smile tugged at her lips, forming two faint dimples on her face.
Women were fascinating creatures. When they were upset, a little flattery could work wonders!
"It's getting late; let's go."
Rowena took Mitchell's hand again, and the two of them continued walking out of the airport.
"Phew... I'm such a clever little guy… Thanks, Dad, for those lessons." Mitchell thought with a sigh of relief. The tricks his father had taught him about handling women seemed to work like a charm.
However, as they exited the airport, a young man strode up to them with a playful smirk. Dressed in a suit and leather shoes, with slicked-back hair and a smooth, fresh face, he had the look of a young scion.
"Rowie, you're finally back. I checked your flight and have been waiting here for quite a while. These are for you!" Mike Cabell extended a bouquet of roses to Rowena.
But as Mike noticed Rowena holding hands with a plainly dressed young man, his eyes darkened with anger.
