Gregory's face darkened. "There are too many people here. Do me a favor and let this go!"
"When you called me a dog earlier, did you think about saving me any face?" Marty sneered. "Apologize now, or I'll expose everything!"
"Fine, you win!" Gregory, realizing Marty was no pushover, gritted his teeth and muttered, "Sorry..."
Marty suddenly raised his voice, "What was that? Speak up! I can't hear you!"
"You…!" Gregory nearly exploded on the spot.
Marty clearly wanted to humiliate him in front of everyone. If the evidence of illegal fundraising got out, the Santee family would be in deep trouble. Marty, bold enough to force an apology publicly, was obviously prepared to escalate things.
Left with no choice, Gregory gritted his teeth and shouted, "Sorry! I was wrong! Please let me go!"
The crowd stood frozen, their eyes wide in disbelief. Did they just witness the young master of the Santee family apologizing to a mere driver?
"Alright! I'll treat your apology like a fart and let it go!" Marty said mockingly.
Gregory looked as if he'd been pummeled by blows.
Marty glanced at the sea of roses on the ground. "Clean up all this trash!"
"Yes, sir!" Gregory immediately signaled his subordinates. "What are you waiting for? Clean this up, now!"
As his meticulously arranged roses were destroyed, Gregory's heart bled.
Marty then turned his gaze to the employees who had been encouraging Gregory to punish him earlier. Now, they all lowered their heads in embarrassment, visibly uneasy.
"Since I'm marrying Ms. Eileen, you're not too happy, are you?" Marty taunted.
"No… not at all…" they stammered.
"Good. Because once I marry Ms. Eileen, I'll be your boss! So you better start behaving, or you'll be packing your things and leaving!"
Though they were unhappy, with Gregory defeated, no one dared provoke Marty. Heads hung low, their faces burned with shame.
At that moment, two law enforcement vehicles arrived. Several officers stepped out and headed straight for Gregory.
"Gregory, we suspect your company is involved in illegal fundraising. You're coming with us."
I can't believe this…
Gregory's heart sank. He looked at Marty, his face ashen.
Feigning innocence, Marty said, "Why are you looking at me like that? I didn't report you! It wasn't me!"
Damn you, you bastard!
Gregory was seething with rage, practically spitting blood, but in front of the officers, he couldn't lash out.
Amused, Marty watched as Gregory was handcuffed and escorted into the law enforcement vehicle. He even took out his phone, zooming in on Gregory's furious face to take pictures.
"Argh!!" Gregory roared in anger.
This bastard! How could he be so shameless? So despicable?
Gregory's convoy left in disgrace.
Marty returned to Eileen's office. "All taken care of!"
Eileen eyed him suspiciously, as if asking, *Was it really that simple?*
"Ms. Eileen, do you remember our bet?" Marty asked with a grin.
Earlier, Marty had said that if he could handle Gregory, Eileen would have to kiss him. Leaning in closer, he teased, "Just for you, I washed my face so I wouldn't dirty your lips!"
You shameless jerk!
Eileen glared at him in frustration. "I never agreed to that bet! Did Gregory really leave?"
Marty nodded. "Yep, taken away by the economic investigators for illegal fundraising."
So, he got arrested… And he's acting like he handled everything himself! Eileen thought, rolling her eyes.
Marty dutifully drove Eileen home.
"The Santee family won't let this slide. I'm worried they'll come after you," Eileen said, her tone filled with concern.
"I didn't expect you to care so much about me! Actually, I'm scared too. How about my mom and I move in with you? Sound good?" Marty said, grinning.
Eileen was speechless.
Here she was, trying to show concern for him, and this guy was already taking advantage! What a thick-skinned jerk!
After a brief pause, Eileen composed herself. "I'll arrange security to keep watch at your mother's clinic."
"No need," Marty replied. "I've got everything under control."
Eileen's expression darkened. "Are you trying to act tough to impress me? Do you think if you pretend to be fearless, I'll fall for you? Don't be naive!"
She sighed and added, "It's settled. I'll arrange security for the clinic."
Since Eileen was offering her support, Marty didn't refuse.
Meanwhile, Darrell, the head of the Santee family, slammed his fist on his desk after hearing the news about his son's arrest.
"What? Gregory's company got reported, and now he's under arrest?"
"Yes," his assistant confirmed, adjusting his glasses. "According to Gregory's subordinates, it was Eileen's driver fiancé who reported him, and he had evidence."
Darrell's face twisted with rage. "A mere driver with this much influence? The real culprit must be the Letherdale family!"
"This is a delicate time," the assistant advised. "I suggest we focus on company matters first and deal with the Letherdale family once things settle."
Darrell's gaze hardened. "There's no need to rush things with the Letherdale family, but we'll start by targeting Eileen's Allure Group. I doubt the Letherdale patriarch would dare retaliate!"
"First, dig up everything on the Letherdale family's son-in-law. A driver dares to cross the Santee family? I'll crush him!"
Meanwhile, Marty, driving his Maserati, was enjoying a little joyride around town.
But soon enough, trouble found him…
While driving slowly, a speeding Range Rover came dangerously close to scraping his car's side mirror as it overtook him.
Marty reacted quickly, swerving to avoid a collision.
The Range Rover came to a screeching halt, and two men got out, blocking Marty's path.
"Hey, kid! Can you even drive?" one of them barked, pointing at him.
"You were blocking our way and nearly caused an accident!" the other sneered. "Are you looking for trouble?"
