"Damn it!" Silas clenched his fists tightly as rage filled his eyes. "We must find out which scoundrel threw Zane into the Abyss of the Forsaken! We will never forgive the culprit—we will grind their bones to dust!"
"Okay!" Everyone present shared the same hatred, and a murderous aura filled the air.
"All right, Mr. Zane has finally returned. He should rest well." At this moment, a stunningly beautiful woman spoke gently. However, a cold light glinted in her eyes.
"Yes, Ms. Nadia is right. Let the young master return to his room to rest first."
Several elders quickly nodded, their faces full of concern.
...
And so, as everyone watched on with a concerned gaze, Zane returned to his room and locked the door.
He lifted the right sleeves as he sat cross-legged.
On it was a striking red word: [Sacrifice.]
"Gods' Burial Coffin," Zane murmured these three words.
As he spoke, a black ancient bronze coffin, exuding an ancient aura and a bloodthirsty presence, floated before him.
Zane gazed at the coffin, lost in thought.
A year ago, he was ambushed, his bloodline was stolen, and he was thrown into the Abyss of the Forsaken.
Within that abyss lay countless coffins, densely packed and uncountable.
Yet, he miraculously survived. After awakening, he found himself surrounded by countless vengeful spirits and bizarre demonic beasts.
He battled these creatures for three days and nights before finally collapsing, seeking refuge in one of the coffins.
Unexpectedly, inside the coffin lay an infinite cosmic starry sky.
He spent a hundred years inside, yet only a year had passed in the outside world. Moreover, his physical body had been reforged, so his previous cultivation was completely lost. Now, he could only start cultivating all over again.
Zane was on a land called the Sacred Martial Continent, where cultivation was divided into the following realms: Golden Martial Realm, Mystic Martial Realm, Earth Martial Realm, Celestial Realm, Misthaven Realm, Saint King Realm, Saint Sovereign Realm, Saint Lord Realm, Saint Emperor Realm, and Divine Realm.
Each realm was further divided into ten levels.
Zane pondered while glancing at several spatial rings beside him. They contained most of the Casson family's resources. These rings had been sent to him to aid in his cultivation and help him regain his strength as soon as possible.
There was also another ring, which he had acquired from Bristol. Inside were hundreds of thousands of spirit stones—originally given to Bristol for her use.
However, the ring was protected by a barrier that only allowed access at intervals. A year had passed, yet there were still many left inside.
Zane had endured a hundred years of solitude inside the Gods' Burial Coffin, sharpening his willpower to an unshakable degree.
A hundred years had passed, and he now saw how foolish he once was.
With time, he had also come to fully understand Bristol's nature.
After returning, he found out that the Casson family had depleted most of their resources searching for him. Wanting to recover some losses, he sought out Bristol to reclaim the spirit stones.
Yet, the moment they met, her first words were about breaking the engagement!
That only confirmed his view of her.
"Mr. Coffino, I hope you're not deceiving me," Zane spoke indifferently.
"Over the past hundred years, I have melted down your physical body and dispersed your cultivation. Then, I reshaped your body using chaos energy. The chaos energy became your essence, spirit, and true soul. The blood of the ancient Demon Lord was fused into your veins! The eternal and infinite black hole became your energy center! Billions of stars formed your meridians and bones! All of this was to forge you into a body worthy of a Creator God. Don't be ungrateful, kid."
As Coffino spoke, the lid slowly opened, revealing a scene inside that resembled the vast cosmos.
Zane fell silent. He didn't fully understand what the coffin spirit was saying, but he had no other choice—he could only trust him.
After all, the Casson family had treated him so well. He didn't want to let them down.
Then, the man poured hundreds of thousands of spirit stones and all the resources given by the Casson family into the coffin.
"The Gods' Burial Coffin, devourer of the four seas, suppressor of eight directions, its interior forms a cosmic galaxy. It can refine living beings, incinerate eternity, and temper the heavens." From within the coffin came the voice of the coffin spirit.
Zane's heart trembled violently.
Such domineering words!
Buzz!
At that moment, a thunderous roar erupted from the coffin, sending out powerful shockwaves that made Zane's expression change slightly.
Soon, all the resources he had poured in—whether pills, weapons, or magical treasures—were rapidly melted down.
They transformed into pure primordial energy, forming wisps of white mist that floated into Zane's mouth, nourishing his body and energy center.
Buzz!
Zane's aura surged dramatically. With that, he stepped onto the path of martial arts.
His cultivation advanced from Golden Martial Realm level 1, Mystic Martial Realm level 1, to Mystic Martial Realm level 10. At that point, his advancement finally stopped.
He opened his eyes. A flicker of chaos energy flashed within, radiating terrifying brilliance.
Just like that, his cultivation level had advanced 20 levels in one go.
"This... is simply unbelievable," Zane muttered in shock.
A hundred years inside the Gods' Burial Coffin had already tempered his will, yet even he was deeply shaken at this moment.
"Tsk. You're getting so excited over just reaching the Mystic Martial Realm. What an ignorant brat," an ancient, mocking voice echoed from within the coffin. "Kid, if you want to level up faster, just kill more people! Throw their corpses in here for refining or toss in more heavenly and earthly treasures—anything with spiritual essence will work."
"My coffin will refine them, converting all their energy to make you stronger in no time." Coffino's words filled Zane with joy but also confusion.
"Mr. Coffino, why did you choose me? What do you truly want from me?" Zane asked, puzzled.
"Tsk. Among the millions of coffins, you happened to lie inside mine. Perhaps it was fate."
"Or, you could say—you are the chosen one!"
Zane remained silent upon hearing his remark. But he didn't dwell on it. Right now, he was still too weak. Only when he grew stronger could he uncover more secrets about the world.
During these hundred years, the Gods' Burial Coffin had described to him a vast and boundless world, greatly expanding his vision.
Thus, Zane continued meditating, consolidating his cultivation.
Meanwhile, nine elders and the patriarch, Silas, were gathered inside Silas' room.
They exchanged glances, all secretly relieved.
"Mr. Silas, it's fortunate that Mr. Zane is safe. Otherwise, we wouldn't know how to proceed with our plans—our plan to become gods." John spoke bitterly.
