Zane remained unmoved, scanning the room.
He noticed Bristol, Kate, and all the elders of the Greaves family.
A young man dressed in luxurious yellow robes had two elders standing behind him.
The young man looked arrogant, as if he didn't even want to spare a glance at Zane.
"Zane, what is the meaning of this? Why did you hurt them? Kneel and apologize at once! Otherwise, I will teach you a lesson if Silas can't do that," Landry said coldly.
Zane chuckled. "Ha, you think you're qualified? You don't even have the right to make me kneel! And you, just a second-rate family head, think you can replace the head of a first-rate family like the Casson family to teach me a lesson? Who do you think you are?"
Landry was dumbfounded, staring at the handsome young man in front of him.
He had once been respectful and courteous. Now, it seemed there was a hint of coldness in him.
"Moreover, that nobody tried to stop me. Sparing him was an act of mercy on my part," Zane said disdainfully, not bothering to look at Landry's darkened face. He then took out the marriage contract from his pocket.
"No more nonsense, I'm here to annul the engagement!" With that, Zane tore the marriage contract in his hands and scattered the pieces into the air, letting them fall slowly.
"Outrageous!" Landry suddenly shouted, "You are too rude! Didn't your elders teach you the word manners?"
As he spoke, a wave of Misthaven Realm spiritual pressure enveloped Zane, seemingly trying to force him to kneel.
To everyone's surprise, Zane remained standing tall and relaxed.
"Manners? I've been very courteous already, Mr. Greaves. Let's not embarrass each other. Since the contract is torn, kindly return the three hundred thousand spirit stones I gave you," Zane demanded.
Landry's face grew even darker. He wanted to intimidate Zane, so he wouldn't have to return the spirit stones and gifts even if the engagement was annulled.
Yet, he was unable to suppress the other man now.
He glanced at Kayden, who watched calmly as if enjoying a show.
Kayden clapped his hands gently and slowly stood up. "What a wonderful spectacle. A so-called first-rate family in this insignificant Khidal Empire. Oh, how imposing. You've really opened my eyes!"
Then, he slowly walked over to Zane. His eyes were filled with disdain. "You're just plain ignorant. It's fine to act haughtily here but in the Holy Land, you would probably be dead by now."
The Greaves family members sighed in relief upon hearing Kayden speak, their faces turning mocking as they looked at Zane.
Bristol and Kate's eyes shone with admiration as they gazed at Kayden like he were a god.
This pleased Kayden, snapping open his folding fan with a flourish.
Zane glanced at him and sneered. "Tsk, who's so careless as to let out a fellow like you?"
The crowd was taken aback. Some couldn't help but look at Kayden in his yellow robes; indeed, he resembled a pile of dung.
Many stifled their laughter, their faces turning red from holding it in.
"How dare you speak like that?" Kate exclaimed, "Zane, do you know who he is? He's the young master of one of the Four Great Families of the Holy Land, the son of the Saint Sovereign. Do you have a death wish by talking to him like that?"
Kayden maintained a smile, but as Kate spoke, his smile turned more contemptuous and playful.
"Haha. You know the status the Saint Sovereign holds." He looked at Zane as if looking at something insignificant. "What now? Scared? You've offended me with your words. Are you waiting for your doom now or do you want to beg for mercy, hoping I'll spare your miserable life?"
Zane chuckled. "The son of the Saint Sovereign, an exalted existence across the continent. Yet here you are, standing up for a minor family in this remote country! Tsk, your status in the Holy Land is quite low."
Zane's words made Kayden's gentle expression freeze instantly.
"If you were truly a noble and high-ranking son of the Saint Sovereign, you wouldn't deign to come here and flaunt your arrogance. I suppose in the Holy Land, you're just a waste that even your parents wouldn't bother to look at! So, you came here to bask in the adulation of many, and to boost your pathetic self-esteem?"
Zane's words pierced deeply. Each of his sentences was like a dagger.
Kayden's face gradually turned a deep shade of purple.
Because Zane's words were right.
Seeing the livid look on Kayden's face, Zane raised a finger, gently shaking it with contempt, saying, "I, a mere nobody, am still better off than you, the loser that everyone despises! Even if you were the son of a Saint Sovereign, it doesn't exempt you. You're still the filthiest and most detestable loser. Your parents don't love you, and your siblings are ashamed of you. They probably hope you die here in the Khidal Empire, don't they?"
Zane's words hit hard, and the hall fell silent. Everyone looked up in shock, stunned and speechless.
At the door, Chad and Roman were equally stunned.
"Chad, when did Zane become so eloquent? Tsk, it looks like he will clash with the Holy Land's family. Son of the Saint Sovereign? Interesting."
Roman and Chad chatted through mental transmission. They smiled and whispered to each other, completely unafraid.
Inside the hall, Kayden's reaction was beyond Zane's expectations. His face turned purple at a visible rate. He slowly raised his hand, fingers twitching in rage. His pupils were filled with malice and twisted light.
"Hehe!" Kayden let out a sinister laugh, momentarily unsure how to vent his anger on Zane. "Wow. How dare someone dare to provoke my authority in this remote country, where the Misthaven Realm is the pinnacle? I'll make sure you know this mouth of yours will bring about you and your family's downfall."
"How dare a Celestial Realm waste like you dare to prance around here?" Zane retorted without hesitation, pointing at the two old men. "Or do you plan to rely on those two old Misthaven Realm fossils?"
Zane's words undoubtedly ignited Kayden's fury.
His eyes turned vicious, his teeth clenched. "Fine, just fine! I'll rip you apart!"
In a fit of rage, Kayden lunged at Zane, his fingers clawing toward Zane's head.
The Greaves family was thrown into an uproar.
Everyone looked at Zane with pity.
Bristol and Kate both spat in disgust simultaneously.
They mused, "What an ignorant fool."
