Blake quickly rushed forward, pointing at Dante and complaining, "Mr. Johanson, call the police! He... he almost killed me! And he extorted one hundred thousand dollars from Sullivan!"
Sebastian twitched at the corners of his mouth as he looked at Blake's disheveled state.
Thomas scrutinized Dante. He didn't care who Dante had beaten or what he had done. He only wanted to know if his daughter could still be saved.
More than anything, he noted that Dante remained completely unfazed despite being surrounded. His composure was remarkable.
Thomas asked, "Did you discover that my daughter was still alive in the morgue?"
"No, to be precise, I discovered she could still be saved. I saved her." Dante lifted his chin slightly.
"Bullshit! You? A lunatic? Did you attend medical school? Do you have a medical license?" Sebastian immediately retorted.
"No. But I was the one who saved her. You went to medical school. You have a medical license. If you can save her, then go ahead and do it. What are you doing here?" Dante sneered, already guessing why they had come.
A bad feeling crept up in Sebastian's heart.
Thomas's eyes narrowed. "Go and save my daughter right now. Prove your words, and I won't pursue what happened before."
Dante raised an eyebrow, displeased. "Not going. I'm not in the mood. If it weren't for me, your daughter would've been dead half an hour ago. You have no right to speak to me like this!"
Thomas clenched his fists. With his current status, no one dared to talk to him this way.
But he quickly deflated. His daughter's life was hanging by a thread, and he had no choice but to try anything.
"What do you need to be in the mood to save her? Name your conditions. If you can cure my daughter, I'll agree to anything."
Dante nodded. "Now, that's the attitude of someone asking for a favor."
His gaze swept across Sebastian and Blake as he coldly said, "I want my wife's name cleared. Whoever is responsible should take the blame."
Grace felt mixed emotions. She was touched that Dante was still thinking about protecting her now, yet also fearful. From the looks of it, even the renowned physician Luke couldn't cure Sienna. How could Dante possibly succeed?
Blake was utterly dumbfounded. This was beyond anything he had imagined.
He had expected Thomas to slap Dante in the face as soon as he arrived. Who would've thought that instead, he was treating him with such respect and even pleading for his help?
He glanced at Sebastian and saw his face turning a deep shade of purple, sending a wave of panic through his heart.
Thomas, being a sharp businessman, immediately reacted to the situation. "Mr. Johanson, if you don't tell the truth now, I'll have the disciplinary committee investigate you."
Cold sweat instantly drenched Sebastian's forehead. He had absolute authority in the hospital, but if the disciplinary committee got involved, there would be no way to cover things up.
After a brief hesitation, he spilled everything. After he finished, he couldn't help but emphasize, "This morning, Ms. Sabey had no breath or heartbeat."
Thomas waved his hand dismissively. "We'll settle our accounts later. Right now, who do you owe an apology to?"
"I... I'm sorry! I was momentarily blinded by greed." Sebastian immediately turned to Dante and apologized.
Dante smirked. "Hmm?"
Sebastian quickly turned to Grace and repeatedly apologized to her.
Seeing this, Blake panicked and hurriedly followed suit, apologizing profusely to Grace as well.
Grace remained silent.
The two men then turned pleading eyes toward Dante.
Dante snickered, "If an apology was enough, why do we still need the police? Right, Mr. Sabey?"
Thomas replied urgently, "I will make sure they face legal consequences. Just save my daughter first!"
Dante nodded.
Grace grew increasingly anxious. The Dante standing before her felt both unfamiliar and worrisome. She subtly shook her head and grabbed his arm.
Dante grinned, squeezing her hand reassuringly. "Trust me. I've got this."
Feeling the warmth of his palm, Grace was inexplicably flustered. The words on the tip of her tongue were swallowed back.
Dante followed Thomas toward the emergency room.
Behind them, Sebastian and Blake looked grim.
"Sebastian, what do we do?" Blake looked utterly defeated.
Sebastian spat on the floor. "What? You think a lunatic can treat patients?"
"Right. If he fails and Thomas loses his temper, those two are screwed." Blake quickly nodded.
The two men hurriedly followed them toward the emergency room.
Inside the emergency room, as soon as Dante entered, he placed both hands on Sienna's chest and calmly said, "Get me a set of acupuncture needles."
Thomas' expression darkened. If Dante failed, Blake would make sure to chop off his hands.
The doctors present were equally dumbfounded.
Was this some joke? A lunatic pretending to be a doctor? And acupuncture, of all things?
This was more absurd than a slapstick comedy.
Luke muttered, "Acupuncture for soul separation syndrome? This..."
Dante grinned. "Soul separation syndrome? Old man, you're mistaken. This is soul-loss syndrome.”
"Soul-loss syndrome?"
At that moment, a nurse brought in the acupuncture needles.
Without explaining further, Dante took the needles and swiftly inserted them into key acupuncture points on Sienna's head: GV-20 acupoint, EX-HN1 acupoint, and the star point.
As he performed the acupuncture, he used his internal energy to guide Sienna's shattered soul back into her body.
When he removed the last needle, Sienna's heart rate stabilized, and her breathing became steady.
"There's hope!"
"She's breathing again!"
"She's stabilized!"
A few moments later, Sienna slowly opened her eyes. She looked around in confusion, tears sliding down her cheeks.
Every doctor in the room was stunned, their eyes fixed on Dante in disbelief.
Luke scratched his head, completely baffled. These are just a few ordinary acupuncture points. Did Dante bring Sienna back from the brink of death?
Thomas' eyes reddened. He quickly rubbed his face to regain his composure.
Grace was equally shocked. Looking at the calm and composed Dante, she felt momentarily dazed. Was this the same man she had always known as a useless lunatic?
"She's alive, but her liver energy is stagnant. Her spleen and stomach are unbalanced, and her blood circulation is severely obstructed. This has led to severe depression. She still needs proper treatment and recovery," Dante explained.
Luke nodded. "In traditional medicine, it is called stagnation syndrome, but treating it is extremely complex."
Thomas asked Dante, "Doctor, do you have a solution?"
"There is one." Dante raised an eyebrow. He could treat it, but it would be troublesome.
As a businessman, Thomas didn't care about degrees or licenses. A capable doctor was a good doctor, no matter the background.
He had seen plenty of miracle-working folk healers in his time.
Now that Dante had proved himself, he didn't hesitate. "Name your price!"
"Acupuncture twice a week, combined with herbal medicine. For stagnation, emotional recovery takes time," Dante explained.
"Good! After Sienna is discharged, I'll send someone to pick you up twice a week," Thomas agreed without hesitation.
Just as Dante was about to nod, Grace pinched him hard on the waist.
Healing Sienna now had been a stroke of sheer luck.
How could he possibly cure severe depression?
Even wealthy elites with the best doctors had succumbed to it.
Dante smacked his lips. "We'll see."
Thomas assumed he was hesitating due to unfulfilled promises and immediately ordered, "Take Sebastian and Blake to the disciplinary committee! I, Thomas, am officially reporting them for corruption and misconduct."
Outside the room, Sebastian and Blake collapsed to the floor.
Luke smiled. "Young man, I'd love to learn from you if I get the chance."
"Likewise." Dante smiled.
Luke nodded repeatedly. He admired Dante more and more.
Grace couldn't take it anymore. Learning from Luke? The man was a renowned national physician.
Using a few unconventional medical books, Dante was boasting everywhere, essentially digging a hole for himself.
Dragging Dante by the arm, she stormed out of the room.
