"What? Got a problem?"
Walter retorted icily.
He had overheard the conversation between Lily and Edward but had been too lazy to make a fuss.
It seemed trouble had found him.
"Of course, there's a problem. What did you do to Lily just now?"
"Don't think I don't know. Did you bully her? Why else would she be so red-faced and sweating?"
Edward, waving his rubber baton, fiercely demanded of Walter.
Walter's mouth twitched, suppressing a laugh, yet his face remained cold.
"Your hand can do many things, but it should never point something so useless at me," he replied icily.
"Hey, you brat, getting cocky, huh? Bully Lily and won't admit it? If I don't beat you down today, I'll take your last name!"
Edward bellowed, rolling his sleeves and swinging the baton at Walter's head.
Walter squinted slightly. He hadn't wanted trouble, but it had come knocking.
How annoying.
Without moving a muscle, he rammed the shopping cart into Edward's stomach with force.
"Aagh!"
Edward screamed in pain, bending over instinctively.
Walter swiftly pulled back the cart and smashed it into Edward's bald head.
Bang!
Another scream, more piercing than before, erupted as Edward collapsed, clutching his head.
The other security guards froze, too afraid to intervene.
As Walter passed by Edward, he delivered a swift, powerful kick.
With a thunderous impact, Edward was sent flying as if struck by lightning, landing eight meters away.
The onlookers scattered in fear while the guards stared in disbelief as Walter entered the phone store.
"Holy crap!"
"Is that even human strength? Kicked him like a ragdoll!"
"A monster!"
"If I hadn't seen it myself, I'd think it was a movie!"
The guards were aghast, their eyes nearly popping out, forgetting their unconscious captain.
Walter purchased a violet phone costing over a thousand dollars and headed home, satisfied.
...
Meanwhile, in the slum housing area, Freya realized Walter was gone just as her friend Sophia arrived.
They chatted for a while.
"Freya, missing out on the Draconia School of Performing Arts due to tuition fees would be a waste. You scored 700 to get in."
Sophia, tall and fair-skinned, exuded youthful vitality in her white sneakers, jeans, and white shirt.
"But the tuition is five thousand dollars a year. I can't afford it."
"Walter just got back, and he suffered enough inside. I don't want him to sacrifice his future for me."
Freya sighed, forcing a smile.
She knew Walter's temperament too well.
He'd work tirelessly to pay her tuition if he found out about her acceptance.
He was still young, and the cost was a heavy burden.
She didn't want him to live such a hard life.
"Walter's out?"
"That means he could be back any time."
"Freya, why didn't you tell me sooner? I better go now. I'll visit another day!"
Sophia exclaimed in panic.
Understanding her friend's reaction, Freya didn't blame Sophia.
She nodded and moved to the door to see Sophia out.
"Freya, no need to get up. I can see myself out," Sophia said hastily.
However, Freya had already transferred to her wheelchair.
"It's fine. I'll see you off and check if Walter's back," Freya smiled sweetly.
Unable to refuse, Sophia pushed Freya out the door, only to stop in her tracks, shocked.
A bulldozer loomed over the house, its massive scoop poised to crash down.
Seeing this, Sophia and Freya were terrified. They had just been inside.
"Tony, there are people inside!" someone shouted.
"A couple of chicks!"
A group of menacing figures stood nearby, adorned with tattoos.
Their leader, a burly man with a pockmarked face, swaggering arrogantly, wore a floral shirt and a thick gold chain.
"Who cares who's in there? Tear it down now!"
Tiger ordered, but the driver hesitated, seeing the two women in front.
"Useless coward!"
Tony spat in disgust, walking toward the girls.
Upon closer inspection, he was captivated by their beauty.
"Well, well, these chicks are hot," Tony sneered.
"Which one of you is the daughter of those dead fools? Let me see."
"What do you want? This is my home! Leave!"
Freya demanded angrily.
These men came every month, trying to demolish her house.
Only timely police intervention had saved it from becoming rubble.
They caused Freya to have an uneasy sleep at night.
"Ah, so you're their daughter."
"You're pretty, but too bad about the legs. Why go against me?"
"Living here doesn't suit your looks. Come to my place tonight. My bed's big, haha!"
Tony took a drag from his cigarette, revealing yellowed teeth as he spoke lewdly.
His lackeys laughed along, enraging Freya.
"You thugs always want to tear down my house. I'm not afraid of you!"
Sophia gathered her courage and took out her phone. "I'm calling the police. Leave now!"
But the next moment, a thug snatched her phone away.
"Give it back!" Sophia shouted, but he just sneered and tossed it aside.
"I don't want to hit you, but don't push me," Tony warned.
"Get her in the car! She's a cripple but pretty. I'll enjoy her tonight!"
Seeing the opportunity, Tony developed ulterior motives when he saw Freya's face.
With a dismissive wave, he barked orders at his men.
