Andy knew better than anyone that Keenan had inherited all the skills of the Warren, and his potential was limitless.
Building a relationship with Keenan early on would benefit the Sanderson family's growth, possibly elevating them to the top ranks of Oceanvale's elite families.
Dorian sighed, knowing his father had decided, and no one could change it.
Still, he tried to persuade Andy, "Dad, there's no need to rush Valentina and Mr. Jauncy into this. How about letting them get engaged first, then spend time together? If they find it suitable, they can marry later."
Pedro quickly chimed in, "Exactly. At least give the young ones time to get to know each other."
"Yeah." Andy stroked his beard and nodded. "Then let's start the preparations. We'll have the engagement party in a week. Remember, it must be grand."
Suddenly, he slapped the table as if remembering something. "Oh, make sure to invite the Webberlye family. I want them to see the Mr. Jauncy they looked down on is my granddaughter's fiancé."
Pedro, Dorian, and Meredith exchanged glances and nodded in unison. "Understood."
Keenan watched Andy take charge of everything, leaving him no chance to speak. Finally, he got a word in. "Mr. Andy, I don't want to rush…"
However, Andy interrupted, "No need to decline, Mr. Jauncy. As my son said, you can get to know each other after the engagement. Valentina, have Mr. Jauncy stay with you. Living together will help you get to know each other better."
Valentina bit her lip, and her cheeks flushed. "Alright, Grandpa."
Fearing Keenan might protest further, Andy quickly claimed he felt unwell and wanted to rest, swiftly ascending the stairs under everyone's gaze.
Keenan still looked bewildered as he followed Valentina out of the Sanderson residence.
How did attending a banquet suddenly land him a fiancée?
Valentina's face mirrored his confusion. She never expected her grandfather to marry her to someone she'd only known for three days.
Walking side by side, they were at a loss for words.
Finally, Keenan broke the silence. "Perhaps I should talk to your grandpa and call off the engagement."
Valentina shook her head. "Grandpa hasn't fully recovered. I don't want to upset him now."
Keenan shrugged. "But do you want to be engaged to me?"
Although he thought the engagement was rushed, he wasn't entirely against being engaged to someone as beautiful as Valentina.
More importantly, he had realized she possessed the water spirit body he had been searching for.
Warren had told him he was born with a fire spirit body. Keenan would be dead by thirty.
He could live longer than thirty by finding someone with a water spirit body and practicing the Balance Arts together.
Now, at twenty-seven, time was running out.
That's why he hadn't outright refused when Andy proposed the engagement.
However, he didn't want to pressure Valentina.
Suddenly, Valentina stopped and looked at Keenan with determination. "Mr. Jauncy, let's follow Grandpa's plan. We'll get engaged in a week. If, after spending time together, I feel we're a good match, I'm willing to marry you. But if not, I hope you'll agree to call it off."
"No problem," Keenan chuckled softly, agreeing without hesitation.
"Thank you," Valentina said, momentarily surprised, her eyes filled with gratitude. "I live in the central courtyard of Serenity Estate. If you have nothing else, you can head there first. I need to return to the company."
She handed Keenan an access card before getting into a car parked at the gate and driving away.
Keenan glanced at the card in his hand, scratched his head, and chuckled wryly, "Mr. Warren, the engagement you set up didn't work out, but another one's come along."
Later, Keenan arrived at Valentina's villa.
It was no smaller than the one the Sanderson family had given him, but its decor was minimalist European.
Judging by her taste in decor, she was likely a competent woman.
Picking a room randomly, Keenan sat cross-legged on the bed and began to meditate.
He practiced the Heaven and Earth Unity Art, a profound mystical technique taught by Warren.
According to Warren, mastering the technique could lead to an indestructible body and the strength to lift immense weights with one hand.
One could control the elements at its highest level and even summon storms.
A faint white glow enveloped Keenan as he practiced, and a mist rose around him, creating a magical scene.
After three hours, he opened his eyes and took a deep breath. He'd been stuck at the energy condensation stage, unable to progress.
Furrowing his brows, he pondered momentarily and concluded that he needed to refine some elixirs to speed up his progress.
He headed the city's largest herbal market, with over a hundred herbal shops and clinics.
After visiting the largest herbal shops in the area, Keenan had only acquired three of the necessary ingredients, with many others nowhere to be found.
Strolling, he arrived at a large herbal shop called Spirit Herb Hall.
The shop spanned over 300 square meters on the ground floor, with two more floors housing wards and a herb warehouse, making it larger than any other shop he had visited.
Keenan found a few more of the herbs he needed.
Just as he was about to leave, a man, drenched in sweat, burst into the shop, carrying a woman on his back. "Help, doctor! Please save my wife!"
The man, wearing a dark blue polo shirt with meticulously combed hair, looked scholarly.
Yet his face was filled with panic and helplessness, clearly terrified.
Keenan squinted, examining the woman on the man's back, and immediately identified her problem.
A male doctor, startled by the sudden commotion, quickly stood up to assist.
He wore a white coat and gold-rimmed glasses and exuded competence.
The doctor was Taylor Johnson, the chief doctor at Spirit Herb Hall. He was well-regarded in the area, especially by the elderly, who sought his expertise throughout the year.
Taylor frowned and asked the man, "What's wrong with your wife?"
