"Grandpa..." Elisa covered her face with one hand, staring blankly at Finn, speechless.
Finn swallowed hard, a sheen of cold sweat appearing on his forehead. "Ms. Sanderson, Elisa blurted out without thinking. I've already reprimanded her. I hope you won't take it to heart."
To the Webberlye family, standing before the Sanderson family felt like ants facing giants. Offending them would mean their downfall with just a flick of a finger.
"Ms. Sanderson, I'm Joe Kirk, the eldest son of the Kirk family." Joe rushed forward, a sycophantic grin plastered on his face.
Valentina was the goddess in the hearts of many wealthy young men in Seaview City, and Joe was no exception.
Valentina cast a casual glance at Joe, her voice cold. "Do I know you?"
Joe's smile froze, leaving him awkward and unsure. "Uh, I've long admired Ms. Sanderson. Can I have the honor of being your friend?"
"I'm not interested." Valentina shot Joe down and then turned to Keenan with a gentle smile. "Mr. Jauncy, my father and I would like to invite you to dine at the Sanderson residence. Are you free?"
Seeing Valentina invite Keenan to the Sanderson residence left everyone present utterly astounded.
Keenan shrugged casually. "Sure."
Valentina beamed with joy. "Shall we go then?"
"Alright." Keenan nodded, about to leave.
However, after a few steps, he paused and turned back to Finn, his voice icy. "Finn, you'd better start preparing for the worst. You won't live long."
"You!"
Finn was so furious that he almost spat blood, but he bit back the curse words that were on the tip of his tongue.
Realizing the unusual connection between Keenan and the Sanderson family, he didn't want to risk offending them.
Moreover, his body was still robust. He was confident he had at least another decade or so left.
Finn grunted angrily, his face turning beet red, as he turned away, pretending he hadn't heard Keenan's ominous words.
Meanwhile, Joe glared venomously at Keenan and Valentina.
They embarrassed him in front of everyone, and he swore to get even.
After Keenan, Dorian, and Valentina left the Webberlye residence, they headed straight for the Sanderson residence.
Soon, as Keenan arrived at the gates, he saw Andy and a crowd eagerly awaiting his arrival.
"Mr. Jauncy, I've been waiting for you." Andy, all smiles, grasped Keenan's hand warmly.
Since Keenan saved Andy's life, Andy was naturally grateful.
"You're looking quite well," Keenan chuckled as he chatted with Andy.
The group conversed while making their way to the first floor of the estate.
The interior was elegantly furnished with scholarly elegance, the walls adorned with famous calligraphies and paintings.
Once everyone was seated, Valentina's uncle, Pedro, instructed the servants to serve the meal.
Andy pulled Keenan to sit beside him, asking, "Mr. Jauncy, do you know where Dr. Warren is? I have prepared a small gift to thank him personally."
Keenan shrugged helplessly. "He traveled last month. I have no idea where he is."
"I see." Andy nodded, having anticipated this answer. He then inquired, "Are your parents also in Seaview City?"
Keenan answered honestly, "My parents have passed away."
"I'm sorry, Mr. Jauncy."
"It's alright," Keenan replied with a light-hearted smile, shaking his head.
The other members of the Sanderson family looked at Andy in confusion, unsure why he was inquiring about Keenan's family matters.
Andy stroked his beard thoughtfully and hesitantly asked, "I heard from Valentina that you have a marriage agreement with the Webberlye family?"
"There was indeed an arrangement with the Webberlye family, but..." Keenan recounted the earlier events at the Webberlye residence in full detail.
Upon hearing Keenan's story, Pedro couldn't contain his anger. "The Webberlye family is outrageous! Not only did they break the engagement, but they also humiliated Mr. Jauncy publicly. It's unacceptable!"
Valentina's aunt, Meredith, also frowned, her voice laced with anger. "Indeed, it's too much. If Dorian and Valentina hadn't arrived in time, the Webberlye family might have harmed Mr. Jauncy."
Dorian leaned over to Andy, whispering, "Father, should we teach the Webberlye family a lesson?"
Andy shook his head slightly, his eyes glinting with a sudden thought. "The Webberlye family is blind to letting such a good son-in-law slip through their fingers."
Andy turned to Keenan with a kind smile. "Mr. Jauncy, what do you think of Valentina?"
Hearing this, Dorian looked surprised. "Dad, what do you mean?"
Andy gazed sincerely at Keenan. "Mr. Jauncy, if you don't mind, I'd like to offer you Valentina's hand in marriage."
"What!"
Keenan and Valentina were both taken aback. Their eyes were wide with shock.
Dorian, Pedro, and Meredith also gaped.
Dorian, feeling troubled, said, "Dad, this is too rash. You can't just promise Valentina to someone like this."
Dorian was a liberal father who never forced Valentina into relationships she didn't want.
Even though Keenan had saved his father's life, Dorian found it hard to accept.
Pedro and Meredith said, "Dad, this is a serious matter. It should be Valentina's decision."
"Yes, we can repay Mr. Jauncy in other ways. There's no need for a marriage."
However, Andy ignored them and turned to Valentina. "Valentina, do you dislike Mr. Jauncy?"
Valentina shook her head without hesitation, pursing her lips. "Of course not. Mr. Jauncy is straightforward to get along with, but we've only known each other for three days."
"You'll have plenty of time to get to know each other. That's not an issue." Andy sipped his tea, dismissively waving his hand. He then turned to Keenan. "Mr. Jauncy, what do you think of my granddaughter?"
Keenan paused, then replied, "Ms. Sanderson is beautiful and intelligent, but as she said, we've just met. There's no need to..."
"If you both find each other agreeable, you can marry and get to know each other over time. That's how our generation did it," Andy interrupted, patting Keenan on the shoulder and addressing everyone, "That's settled then."
