Whoosh!
With a flick of his wrist, Silas placed the final needle on Chandler's chest.
As the silver needle descended, a gush of black blood emerged instantly.
Seeing this, Nick and the others felt their hearts skip a beat. However, seeing Wayne remain silent, they restrained their worries.
Finally, Silas waved his hand again, collecting all the silver needles.
At that moment, Chandler, who had been unconscious, slowly opened his eyes, his face noticeably rosier. He felt a surge of energy coursing through his body, with his ailments completely gone.
He immediately stood up, exclaiming with excitement, "I'm cured! Thank you, Mr. Cutmore!" With that, he bowed deeply to Silas.
Nick, equally thrilled, said, "Father, you're really awake! I thought this fraud..."
Chandler's eyes widened instantly, "Quiet! How dare you talk about my savior like that?! Bow and apologize to Mr. Cutmore at once." He emphasized his command with a swift kick to Nick.
Nick was taken aback. After all, Chandler hadn't been able to muster any strength since falling ill. Seeing his father's newfound vigor, Nick's smile broadened with joy. "Father, you truly are better! That kick hurt!"
Nick immediately bowed deeply to Silas. "Mr. Cutmore, I was blind to your greatness earlier. Please forgive me!"
Meanwhile, Chandler approached Wayne. "Dr. Casson, I'm sorry for everything today. I'll send you a gift as a token of apology later..."
Wayne, snapping out of his shock, replied, "No worries, Mr. Smut Sr."
He then bowed to Silas. "Mr. Cutmore, I was presumptuous and arrogant. Please forgive my hubris!" His words, now laced with respect, showed his newfound regard for Silas.
Silas nodded quietly. Wayne's ability to apologize publicly, despite his age and status, demonstrated his integrity and willingness to correct mistakes.
Silas waved his hand dismissively. "No harm done. As a healer, your intentions were good. It was just clouded by concern."
Wayne, even more impressed, replied, "Thank you, Mr. Cutmore, for your magnanimity!" He took a deep breath and asked, "Mr. Cutmore, the three needles you used at the end, they weren't Ninos Needles, were they?"
Silas nodded slightly. "You've got a keen eye to notice." Previously, such words from Silas might have been met with scorn and deemed arrogant. But now, everyone listened intently.
Silas continued, "As I mentioned, while Ninos Needles are commendable, they couldn't cure Mr. Smut Sr. Hence, the last three needles were from the Tendos Needles technique."
Wayne's eyes widened, murmuring in awe, "Indeed! Those were the legendary Tendos Needles!"
He then snapped back to reality, dropping to his knees before Silas, "Mr. Cutmore, please accept me as your disciple!"
The crowd was left speechless. Wayne, a renowned member of the Four Divine Healers in Eastville, now sought mentorship from a young man.
Silas couldn't help but rub his nose, recalling his mentor's words about people seeking him out as a mentor. After a brief contemplation, he said, "I won't have much time to teach you regularly. I can only offer guidance during treatments. Is that acceptable?"
Seeing Wayne's sincere heart and dedication to medicine, Silas agreed to teach him, viewing it as a way to promote traditional culture and benefit others.
Wayne, overjoyed at the prospect of learning from Silas, quickly agreed, "Absolutely, Mr. Cutmore! Your guidance would be the honor of my life."
Silas waved him off. "Alright, you can stand now."
Wayne eagerly stood, exchanging phone numbers with Silas.
At this moment, Carter approached Silas cautiously, offering his business card. "Mr. Cutmore, I'm Carter Cole, the director of Easte Hospital. I apologize for any offense earlier."
"Mr. Cutmore, your medical prowess is astounding. I'd like to invite you to join our hospital as a guest divine healer and honorary director of our traditional medicine department, participating in our chief meetings, with an annual salary of five hundred thousand. Would that be acceptable?"
Carter didn't just bring Wayne to treat Chandler, but also other attending physicians from the hospital.
Hearing this offer, they were envious. Such a position might not have been achieved even after decades of effort. Yet, they acknowledged Silas's abilities and understood why he received such recognition and reward.
However, Silas smiled and said, "I don't have a medical license."
Carter gave a slightly embarrassed smile. "Traditional medicine is profound and ancient, without the need for modern licenses. The capable should lead! Besides, a license is just a certificate- I can handle that for you!"
Silas shook his head. "I truly don't have the time. I never planned to be a doctor..." Indeed, he had many important tasks after descending the mountain, and becoming a doctor would take too much time.
The attending physicians were even more astounded. They would have jumped at such an offer, yet Silas seemed uninterested.
Carter was anxious. Easte Hospital wasn't the only one in the city. Although it was currently the most comprehensive, competition meant progress was essential. Having a divine healer would be crucial for the hospital's reputation and strength.
Carter pressed on, "Mr. Cutmore, you wouldn't need to adhere to a strict schedule. Just be available when the hospital needs you. Even if you're busy when needed, your priorities come first, and the hospital will support you in any way possible."
Carter's offer was heartfelt. After all, Wayne's current treatment wasn't even this generous. Yet Silas was offered such terms from the start.
Before Silas could respond, Carter added, "Mr. Cutmore, perhaps you can think about it. There is no need to decide now."
Given Carter's sincerity, Silas didn't want to disappoint him and replied with a smile, "Alright, I'll consider it."
Hearing this, Carter's eyes lit up. "Great! Whenever you make a decision, I'll have the appointment letter ready for you!"
