Yvonne was even more mesmerizing than Alina.
Alina had a kind of enchanting, almost unearthly beauty, while Yvonne's looks were naturally stunning. She was a classic beauty in every sense of the word. The only thing marring Yvonne's otherwise perfect looks was that she was a bit too skinny, probably from years of not getting enough to eat.
"Yvonne, are you okay?" Ian finally asked, sounding worried after a long pause.
"I'm fine. Just put me down," Yvonne said, finally snapping out of her daze.
Ian gently put her down, realizing he couldn't keep holding her.
"Since when did you get so strong? You actually managed to catch me from that high up!" Yvonne asked, genuinely curious.
"It's a long story. Let's get off the mountain first. I just have a bad feeling about this place like there's danger lurking around. I'll fill you in as we go," Ian said.
Ever since inheriting Alina's powers, Ian could sense danger a mile away and right now, he could tell there was something off in these woods.
"Hang on, I really gotta pee. I can't hold it anymore," Yvonne blurted out, her face turning red. She'd been dying to go earlier, but Elijah had suddenly shown up, forcing her to hold it in until now. Falling from the tree had nearly scared the pee out of her, and now she really couldn't hold it any longer.
"Something unexpected will happen," Ian said, sounding all mysterious.
"What's that supposed to mean? Can't you just say it straight?" Yvonne said, totally confused.
"I mean, if I'm right, something's probably gonna go wrong with your bathroom break again," Ian explained.
"You're such a jinx! No way anything's gonna happen just because I'm peeing," Yvonne shot back, refusing to believe him.
"Alright, just go. I'll stand guard," Ian said.
"Same rule as always. No peeking!" Yvonne warned, then bolted for a clump of bushes, desperate.
Even when Ian wasn't all there in the head, he never would've peeked. Now that he was back to normal, there was no way he'd ever do something like that. They weren't blood-related, but Yvonne had basically raised him for seven years. She was like a real sister to him, and he'd never even think of disrespecting her.
Ian turned his back to Yvonne and kept his guard up, using his new senses to watch out for danger.
Pretty soon, Ian heard the telltale "pssh" of Yvonne peeing, and then-out of nowhere-a "whoosh" nearby!
"Yvonne, are you done yet? Hurry up. Something's coming!" Ian called out, his voice urgent.
Before he could even finish, Yvonne came tearing out of the bushes, totally freaked out.
"Run, you dummy!" Yvonne yelled, panicked, almost in tears. Could Ian's jinx actually be real?!
Why did something always happen every time she tried to pee? Couldn't a girl get a break around here?
Ian's heart skipped a beat. He hadn't thought trouble would show up this fast.
He spun around and saw Yvonne running toward him, yanking her pants up as she went. The sight was enough to make Ian's eyes bug out.
