Ian looked around in confusion; the skeletons were still there. He also noticed that around the Demon Sealing Cave, there were all kinds of rare herbs.
But Alina was nowhere to be found.
Everything that just happened felt dreamlike, but it was all too real. He looked down at his right hand and saw that there was now a blood-red ring on his finger. He picked up the Dragon Soul Sword and stood up, feeling that mysterious power inside him getting even stronger.
Remembering what Alina had told him, he tried using his mind to store the Dragon Soul Sword inside the Dragon Blood Ring. As soon as he thought about it, the huge sword disappeared in a flash.
"Unbelievable! This tiny Dragon Blood Ring can really hold stuff. This is just amazing!" Ian muttered to himself in excitement. He also noticed that his mind was clear now. The man wasn't confused anymore, and all sorts of memories were coming back to him.
"This is awesome! Getting pushed into the Demon Sealing Cave by Elijah not only made me normal again, but I also got Alina's skill. Talk about a blessing in disguise!"
"There's so much herbs here. If I take them back, I could sell them for a good price. And even if nobody wants to buy them, I could always cook them up as a soup for Yvonne to help her get stronger."
All of a sudden, Ian yelled, "Oh no! Yvonne's still in danger. Elijah might be doing something terrible to her!"
Panic hit him. There was no way he could think about picking herbs now. He'd been down in the cave for a long time. What if Elijah had already done something awful to Yvonne?
Ian looked up at the cave opening, which was dozens of meters above him, and felt like a cat on a hot tin roof. He had no idea how to get up there.
But then he remembered he had Lostaria Palace's skills, so he tried using his new lightness skill to jump up.
He tried it and found himself light as a feather, and he could jump way higher than before!
Ian kept kicking off the rocks that stuck out from the cave wall, climbing higher and higher, and soon he was out of the Demon Sealing Cave, back in the woods where everything started.
Right then, Elijah burst out of the bushes, looking both freaked out and sneaky, like he'd just gotten away with something bad. He was stumbling around, looking totally wiped out like all the strength had been sucked out of him.
"Elijah Garner! You animal! Where's Yvonne? What did you do to her?" Ian yelled, his eyes burning with anger.
Elijah jumped at Ian's shout. When he saw Ian looking so furious and alive, he totally freaked out, thinking Ian was some kind of ghost coming back for revenge. "Aah! Ghost! Don't kill me!" he shrieked, totally losing it, and tore down the mountain faster than a rabbit, even though he was barely able to stand.
Ian watched Elijah run off but didn't bother chasing him. Right now, finding Yvonne was all that mattered. He could settle things with Elijah some other time.
"Yvonne!" Ian shouted, charging into the grass where Elijah had just been.
Ian searched the grass frantically but there was no sign of Yvonne. Then he spotted some bright, fresh bloodstains in the grass that stood out like a sore thumb. It felt like he'd just been struck by lightning. His mind went completely blank with shock.
Was he too late? Had Elijah already done something horrible to Yvonne?
"Yvonne! Where are you?" Ian yelled, running around like crazy, calling out again and again. But no matter how much he shouted, there was still no answer and no sign of Yvonne anywhere.
