Alina was overjoyed when she saw Ian finally pull out the Dragon Soul Sword. "Hurry over here and use the Dragon Soul Sword to cut these chains for me!" she exclaimed impatiently.
"Got it!" Ian gripped the Dragon Soul Sword, walked up to Alina, and then swung it down in one motion.
Clang!
The Dragon Soul Sword struck the chain, locking Alina's right hand and sending sparks flying.
The Dragon Soul Sword sliced through the iron like it was nothing, and the chain snapped right away. But as the sword touched the chain, a jolt of powerful energy shot through Ian like an electric shock, knocking him out cold.
With her right hand freed, Alina bent down, picked up the Dragon Soul Sword, and started hacking away at the rest of the chains on her.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Each chain snapped apart with every swing.
"Hahaha... At last, I'm finally free!" Alina threw her head back and laughed wildly, her voice echoing through the cave. After laughing, she strode over to one of the skeletons and angrily kicked it.
"You old bastard, back then you locked me up, but I poisoned you. Now I'm free again; you're just a pile of bones. Looks like I got the last laugh after all!"
"You so-called righteous sects, pretending to rid the world of evil, ganged up on Lostaria Palace just to steal our Dragon Soul Sword and Dragon Blood Ring. How shameless can you get!"
After venting, Alina walked back to Ian, looked at his unconscious body, and said, "Kid, I wasn't lying to you. You really are gifted and one in a million."
"Since you helped me get out, I'll keep my word and pass on all my legacies to you!"
With that, Alina sat cross-legged, propped Ian up, and grabbed his hands to start transferring her power.
Half-unconscious, Ian felt like he was having a bizarre dream. In it, all kinds of martial arts-sword techniques, archery, medicine, poisons, even disguise, just kept flooding.
After who knows how long, Alina let go of Ian's hands and said weakly, "Alright, I've taught you everything there is to know from Lostaria Palace."
"You've inherited some of my power. Right now, you're at the beginner level of Yellow Rank."
After hesitating for a second, Alina took off the blood-red ring from her right middle finger. "Since you're destined to cross paths with Lostaria Palace, I'll just give you the Dragon Blood Ring too."
"The Dragon Blood Ring is a storage ring. It holds all the secret techniques of Lostaria Palace, including the 'Phoenix Art' manual. You can use it to get even stronger."
"Even though you could crush most so-called experts in the regular world with your Yellow Rank skills, you're still no match for real cultivators. You'll need to train hard if you want to become tr."
Saying that, Alina pressed Ian's right middle finger onto the blade of the Dragon Soul Sword, nicking it so that blood welled out. Then she slipped the Dragon Blood Ring onto his finger.
Ian's blood stained the Dragon Blood Ring, which instantly glowed with a strange red light, then faded back to normal once the blood was absorbed.
"Alright, the Dragon Blood Ring recognizes you as its new owner. Now, you can put whatever you want in it and take it out whenever you need."
"And I'm leaving the sword to you, too. When you wake up, you can just store it inside the Dragon Blood Ring with your mental force. It makes it easier to carry around."
"Now, you've got all the secrets of Lostaria Palace and its two greatest treasures. You're the only successor of the Lostaria Palace. I hope you'll bring it back to greatness."
"And remember, women won't slow you down. If you're fighting for the woman you love, she'll only make you faster!"
"Lostaria Palace might not be some righteous sect, but we've never done anything truly evil. That's all I have to say. I'm leaving now. Take care of yourself."
With that, Alina flicked her sleeve and floated out of the Demon Sealing Cave.
Alina had barely left when Ian came to.
