"Mr. Lawne, are you alright?"
As everyone entered the interrogation room, a gray-haired older man, probably just past fifty, hurried in and looked straight at Castiel.
"And you are?"
Castiel stood up and gave the gray-clad old man a puzzled look.
"I am Gio Lyson, the Lyson family butler. I was told to pick you up. Sorry about all this. Hope they didn't give you too much trouble?"
Despite his plain clothes, Gio spoke with a calm authority that set him apart from regular folks.
After Gio introduced himself, Castiel nodded. He wasn't sure how the old man tracked him down, but it saved him some trouble. After all, he was heading to the Lyson Manor.
Everyone in the room looked surprised—no wonder the chief himself got involved.
Only one Lyson family in Jayton City was big enough to pull strings like this.
"Alright. Officer Yare, release Mr. Lawne immediately! We've confirmed that he has nothing to do with the train station terror attack."
Seeing that Castiel was fine, Oakley Lapwood, the chief, waved at Nara to let him go, his tone leaving no room for argument.
"Chief Lapwood..."
Nara opened her mouth to object, but before she could get a word out, Oakley had already motioned for two officers to escort Castiel and Gio out.
"Don't miss me too much. We probably won't see each other again!"
Castiel grabbed his bag from a male cop, brushed past Nara, and turned back with an innocent-looking grin.
"You scoundrel, you'd better not fall into my hands next time!" Nara stomped her foot in frustration, gritting her teeth when she noticed the man's smug grin. Her usual icy beauty vibe was totally gone.
The other male cops, seeing Nara like that for the first time, gave Castiel another big thumbs up as he walked away.
After all, he was the first guy to ever get under Nara's skin.

A black Mercedes cruised straight from the busy city streets into a quiet, upscale neighborhood full of villas in Jayton City, a coastal metropolis in Chiton.
"Mr. Lawne, we're here!" Gio hopped out first and personally opened the door for Castiel, flashing a friendly smile.
"Thank you."
Castiel nodded and got out, eyeing the fancy gates. He couldn't help but think, "Man, rich people really do live the good life."
The black-suited bodyguards nearby looked shocked. They wondered who Castial was to warrant such respectful treatment from Gio.
"Mr. Lawne, Mr. Larry has been eagerly awaiting you! Please follow me." Gio said anxiously, bowing slightly as he led Castiel inside.
Seven or eight people sat inside a fancy hall, and the mood was pretty somber.
"Mr. Larry, Mr. Lawne has arrived!"
Gio's voice echoed, prompting everyone in the hall to rise and look forward.
Castiel walked in, wearing a gray suit and carrying a faded bag over his shoulder.
The expressions of those in the hall changed.
"Mr. Larry, this is Mr. Lawne!" Gio introduced the man standing before him, a distinguished elder in elegant attire.
Castiel sized up the old man: white hair, wrinkled face, but those eyes were sharp and clear. This man was none other than the renowned head of the Lyson family, Larry Lyson.
"I'm Castiel Lawne. Greetings, Mr. Larry." Castiel's tone was calm and composed, his expression serene as he nodded in Larry Lyson's direction.
"You're one fine young man!" Larry's eyes flashed with surprise after sizing the latter up.
"Mr. Larry, if I may ask, is this the divine healer you mentioned?"
A guy in his fifties wearing a white lab coat looked at Castiel mockingly, then turned to Larry and asked with a smirk. "Mr. Lyson, one shouldn't act recklessly even in desperation. Even Dr. Zorn couldn't cure the illness, and you're inviting a country bumpkin to do it? Be careful not to be deceived!"
"Xavier, watch your words!" A teenage girl, maybe seventeen or eighteen, stood up with her hands on her hips, frowning at Xavier Casson.
"You hired a useless doctor, so stop blabbering. Besides, this is for my sister. No one invited you!"
Zoe Lyson clearly wasn't a fan of Xavier and didn't bother hiding it.
Beside Xavier, Lionel Zorn flushed with embarrassment, anger flickering in his eyes.
"Wow, your mouth stinks. Do you have a condition?" Castiel laughed after looking Xavier up and down.
"A condition?"
Everyone was taken aback and then turned to Xavier. Since Larry invited Castiel, he must have some skills. His claim that Xavier had a condition sparked curiosity.
Feeling everyone staring, Xavier snapped, "Hick, you better open your eyes. There's nothing wrong with me!"
"It's not up to you to say. Look at yourself. Your eyes are dull, your lips are pale, and you can barely stand. Spent too much time with women, huh? You better take it easy, man."
Castiel shook his head with fake sympathy, then casually patted Xavier twice on the shoulder.
"You!"
Rage surged through Xavier, but as he opened his mouth, a sharp pain shot through his shoulder, his face turning ghostly pale.
The moment after, everyone in the arena's expression toward Xavier instantly turned strange. Most wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for Castiel's subtle hint. Although many found it hard to say out loud, their eyes revealed a hint of disdain as they looked at Xavier.
Perhaps no one realized that the pats Castiel gave to Xavier carried a trace of true energy.
"What are you all looking at?" Regaining composure, Xavier panicked, seeking Larry's attention.
"I am not that kind of person! He's slandering me."
Seeing Larry's stern expression, Xavier's heart sank. Years of reputation-building with the old man seemed to crumble before him, and in front of so many people. His humiliation was palpable.
"Enough. Mr. Lawne is my esteemed guest. Show him some respect!"
Larry's words silenced the room. He glanced at Castiel, noticing his calm demeanor, and a flicker of admiration appeared in his eyes.
He kept his cool no matter what. This kid was really something.
"Ms. Adelyn's condition can't wait. Shouldn't we let Mr. Lawne check on her now?" Gio suggested, his face anxious.
"Indeed! Hurry, take Mr. Lawne to see Adelyn!" Larry's face was distraught as he led everyone, Castiel included, upstairs.
"Let's see how you plan to save Adelyn!"
Trailing behind the group, Xavier shot Castiel a nasty glare, eyes full of spite.
