Dustin, the eldest son of the Larson family, spoke up. "Dad, our family is facing a major crisis. If we don't take care of the West Mountain Resort mess soon, our whole family is finished!"
"William Fallon has always admired Amelia. If we can get Amelia to marry William, we'll save the West Mountain Resort and have the Fallon family backing us. It's a double win!"
"But if Amelia ends up with Aiden Smith, we get nothing! I'm against this marriage!" Dustin said firmly.
"Dad's right!"
"Exactly, one's the third son of a rich family, and the other's just some limping country doctor!"
"Even if Amelia got abused by William, that'd still be way better than marrying a cripple!"
The rest of the Larson family members all chimed in, agreeing with Dustin.
Wade frowned. "Zack, Sarah, what about you two?"
Sarah piped up right away, "Dustin's right. As her mom, I'm against it too!"
"My daughter's drop-dead gorgeous! If she can't marry a prince, she should at least marry someone rich!"
"That cripple wants to marry my daughter? Not in this lifetime!"
Sarah shot Aiden a look of pure contempt, rolling her eyes hard.
Next to her, Amelia's father, Zack Larson, mumbled, "Dad, let's just go with whatever Sarah says."
Wade waved the marriage contract in his hand, his face turning beet red with anger.
"Years ago, I begged to get this marriage contract signed! Without it, there would be no Larson family today!"
"I'd rather die than go back on my word or turn my back on someone who helped me! Amelia must honor the marriage contract and marry Aiden Smith!"
Sarah snorted, "Dad, what century are you living in? You're still stuck on these old-fashioned ideas?"
"Sure, you signed the contract, but Amelia's my daughter. I call the shots!"
"Why don't you focus on your health instead of sticking your nose in everything?"
"You... Cough, cough, cough!"
Wade was so furious that he began to cough violently.
A loud voice rang out from outside the door.
"Carlos Gray from Duncan Corporation is here!"
The Larson family was shocked.
Carlos Gray was one of the Three Dragons of Stridora.
His reputation for being ruthless was legendary. Why would such a man suddenly visit the Larson family?
Bang!
The door violently kicked open before the Larsons could go out, and four men in black suits filed in.
The last guy to walk in was a middle-aged man in casual clothes, looking all refined and cultured.
Dustin hurried over, plastering on a fake smile. "Mr. Gray, what brings you to our place today?"
"Mr. William just farted, so here I am. Tell me, was it a sweet-smelling fart or a stinky one?" Carlos Gray teased, glancing at Dustin.
Dustin smiled and replied, "Of course, it was sweet."
Carlos slapped Dustin right across the face.
Dustin spun in place, holding his cheek, stunned. He hadn't expected Carlos to strike without warning.
Seeing their father slapped, Hector and Ellie, who had previously mocked Aiden, lowered their heads timidly, not daring to utter a word.
The rest of the Larsons didn't dare say a word. Everyone knew Carlos was bad news.
"Good, this is how the Larson family should behave," Carlos sneered, mocking everyone present.
Amelia stood up, her demeanor calm and unwavering. "Carlos, you come to our home and strike people. Do you have any respect for the law?"
"I thought the Larsons were all cowards, but there's someone with guts?" Carlos examined Amelia with a smirk.
"A bunch of grown men can't compare to a lady!"
His eyes roved over her, and he chuckled, "Soft on the outside, fiery on the inside. You must be Amelia Larson, the top of the Stridora Beauty List."
"Such a stunning beauty!"
"You asked if I have respect for the law? Let me tell you, in Stridora, the Fallon family is the law! Duncan Corporation is the law!"
His imposing presence made it hard for anyone in the room to breathe.
"Cough, cough, cough..." Wade coughed weakly, "Carlos, what do you want from us?"
"You're still alive, Wade?" Carlos laughed maliciously.
"Good, listen carefully. Mr. William wanted to invite Ms. Larson over, but she refused and even had someone injure my brother and several bodyguards."
"Mr. William has decided to show no mercy to your family. I'm here on his orders to deliver a final twelve-hour ultimatum."
"Within twelve hours, sell the West Mountain Resort to the Fallon family for a million dollars, or send your granddaughter Amelia to Mr. William. You have two choices!"
"Once the time is up, if you can't satisfy Mr. William, the Larson family will perish!"
Carlos made a throat-slashing gesture, and the Larsons turned ashen with fear.
Hector and the other younger members were so terrified that their legs weakened.
Carlos laughed heartily as the Larson family sat dumbfounded, pinching Amelia's cheek.
"Such soft skin! I suggest you accept your fate and willingly lie in Mr. William's bed, hahaha!"
Carlos laughed arrogantly, turning to leave.
"You can leave, but the hand that touched her stays."
A cold voice suddenly pierced the air.
Carlos stopped, slowly turning around. His lips curled into a sinister smile, and his eyes flashed maliciously.
Everyone in the Larson family looked toward the source of the voice in shock.
It was none other than Aiden.
"Aiden, what nonsense are you spouting?"
"This is our family's affair. Why are you meddling?"
"You dare ask Mr. Gray to leave a hand behind? Are you crazy?"
"So what if Mr. Gray touched Amelia's face? She hasn't lost anything, but you are just fooling yourself. Leave!"
The Larson family berated Aiden, with Hector and Ellie being the loudest, their eyes bulging.
"Your father got slapped, and none of you showed such filial piety to stand up. Now you have the nerve to shout?"
Aiden's words left Hector and Ellie red-faced and speechless, their faces burning with shame.
Carlos watched Aiden limp out from the crowd, his expression turning playful. "No one in Stridora has ever spoken to me like that, and you, a cripple, where do you get the courage?"
"Since you claim you want to chop off one of my hands, fine, here's a knife."
Carlos raised a hand, and one of his men placed a dagger in his palm.
He handed it to Aiden, his lips curling. "Here's the knife, let's see how you plan to cut off my hand."
