"Aiden! Drop the knife! Get on your knees and apologize to Mr. Gray!"
"If you want to die, go do it somewhere else! Don't drag the Larson family down with you!"
"Mr. Gray, just ignore him. Tell William we'll give him a satisfying answer within twelve hours."
The Larson family all started yelling at Aiden.
Even Amelia tugged at Aiden's sleeve and whispered, "Aiden, just put the knife down. Carlos is one of the three Dragons of Stridora. He's super dangerous!"
"We can't afford to mess with him. If you hurt him, not even Grandpa or I can protect you."
Before Amelia could finish, Aiden raised his hand and brought the knife down.
Whoosh!
Crack!
Carlos's right hand was chopped clean off.
He didn't even have time to dodge.
Blood spurted everywhere like a fountain.
"Ahhh!"
Carlos grabbed his bloody stump and howled in pain, his smug face instantly turning to shock and rage.
He had thought of a thousand possibilities, but never imagined Aiden would dare to cut off his hand.
Amelia was so shocked that her voice got stuck in her throat. She covered her mouth with her hand, eyes wide.
The whole Larson family was stunned, standing there like statues.
One of Stridora's underworld Dragons, the notorious Carlos Gray, just got his hand chopped off right in their house.
The Larson family was screwed.
Everyone felt a cold chill run down their spine.
Thump!
Hector's legs gave out and dropped to his knees, sobbing, "Mr. Gray, our family has nothing to do with Aiden Smith!"
"That's right, Mr. Gray, Aiden has nothing to do with our family. W-whatever he does is all on him!"
Dustin stuttered, desperate to distance himself from Aiden.
The rest of the Larson family started talking immediately, begging Carlos not to take it out on them.
"Kill that crippled bastard!" Carlos yelled.
Four of his guys immediately rushed forward.
Aiden twirled the knife, smirking, "If you attack me, I guarantee you'll lose your other hand, too."
Seeing how calm and harmless Aiden looked, Carlos felt a chill run down his spine.
Still on his knees, Hector piped up, "Mr. Gray, Aiden isn't just crippled. He might be crazy, too."
That was exactly what Carlos needed to hear.
He gritted his teeth, "Damn cripple, I'll go get my hand sewn back on first!"
"Just you wait. When I'm healed, I'll make sure you're dead!"
"Let's go!"
Carlos snatched up his severed hand and rushed out with his guys to the hospital. If he waited too long, they couldn't reattach it.
Ellie rushed to help Hector and yelled at Aiden, "You've ruined the Larson family!"
The rest of the family glared at Aiden, their eyes full of anger.
With all those angry eyes on him, Aiden didn't even flinch.
He calmly turned to Wade and said, "Since the Larson family doesn't want me around, I'll leave."
He turned to go, but Dustin yelled, "Stop right there!"
"You cut off Carlos Gray's hand and put our family in danger, and you think you can just walk out of here?"
"What do you want?" Aiden asked coolly.
Dustin sneered and turned to Wade.
"Dad, we have to give the Fallon family an explanation. I say we send Amelia to talk to William tonight, and she can bring Aiden with her."
"Carlos is William's lackey. Aiden hurt Carlos, so let William handle him. It's got nothing to do with us."
"Whether or not we can keep West Mountain Resort depends on how Amelia does tonight."
Zack, who'd been quiet until now, suddenly spoke up. "Dustin, you know William's bad intentions toward Amelia, and you're still sending her to talk to him? That's throwing her to the wolves!"
"You're wrong, Zack."
"The family's broke! Can you fix it? Can you save West Mountain Resort? Can you bring the Larson family back from the dead?"
Zack shook his head, embarrassed.
"Then just shut up!"
Dustin snapped at him.
Amelia frowned. "Uncle, how can you talk to my dad like that?"
"As the eldest, scolding him is the least I can do. As a Larson, keep quiet if you can't solve the family's problems!" Dustin said with authority.
Amelia gritted her teeth, her gaze firm.
"Since you've put it that way, I'll negotiate with William tonight!"
She looked at Aiden. "You injured Carlos Gray. It could be dangerous if you come with me. You should leave."
With that, she pulled out a checkbook and quickly wrote a check, handing it to Aiden.
"This is compensation for you. The Larson family is in a tough spot now, so I can only give you a hundred thousand."
"When the family gets through this, I'll give you another hundred thousand."
Aiden hadn't expected Amelia to still care about his safety, increasing his admiration for her.
He didn't take the check, saying calmly, "I was the one who cut Carlos Gray's hand. I won't let you face the danger alone. I'll go with you tonight."
Amelia searched his eyes for any sign of fear or deceit and found none.
"Alright then."
She didn't insist and turned to care for Wade.
Wade sighed with relief, waving his hand.
"Zack, Sarah, as long as I live, Aiden Smith is my grandson-in-law. It doesn't matter whether you agree."
"Take my grandson-in-law home. I'm tired."
With that, Wade closed his eyes.
Sarah knew Wade's stubbornness well. Once he made up his mind, nothing could change it.
If she objected further, Wade would cut ties.
"What are you all standing around for? Go home!"
Sarah stormed out.
Zack quickly followed her.
Amelia glanced at Aiden. "Let's go home first."
Ten minutes later, Aiden followed Amelia into her house.
As soon as they entered, Sarah tossed a pair of shoe covers at Aiden's feet, crossing her arms.
"Put on the shoe covers! My floors are spotless!"
Aiden ignored her and sat on the couch.
A red poodle wagged its tail, cozying up to Sarah.
Aiden noticed a yellow puddle, saying, "Your poodle peed on the floor."
Sarah picked up the poodle, planting a kiss on its nose. "Good boy, didn't Mommy teach you to use the toilet? Why did you pee outside?"
Watching his wife kiss the dog, Zack looked disgusted but didn't dare say anything.
He suddenly noticed specks of dirt in the urine and curiously said, "Huh, what's this?"
Aiden's lips twitched. "That's dog poop. Your poodle didn't clean up well."
"It can't be."
Zack reached down to touch it, bringing his fingers to his nose. The stench hit him hard.
He almost gagged.
Suppressing his nausea, Zack chuckled. "Honey, it's just dirt. Aiden's joking."
He quickly cleaned up the rest of the mess and mopped the floor.
The poodle continued licking Sarah's face.
Sarah glared at Aiden.
"Let me make it clear. Letting you into my house doesn't mean marrying into my family. It's only because of Mr. Wade's orders."
"I'm the one in charge here. Once you're in my house, you follow my rules."
"Go on," Aiden replied calmly.
