A sudden noise made the middle-aged man jump.
He turned around, saw a stranger at the door, and scowled. "Who are you? Who let you in here? Breaking into someone's house is against the law."
Travis didn't say a word. With a cold look on his face, he took a step forward and grabbed the man, lifting him off the ground.
"You dare bully my mom? You're asking for it!"
With that, he slammed the guy hard onto the floor.
Then he helped Raven up, concern in his eyes. "Mom, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, th-thank you," Raven stammered, still shaken.
But when she saw Travis, she froze in disbelief. "Travis... Is that you?"
Travis fought back tears and nodded hard.
"Mom, it's me, Travis. I'm home!"
"Travis! Is it you? Am I dreaming?" Raven was overjoyed to hear her son's voice.
She cupped his face, touching it repeatedly, like she couldn't believe it was real.
"Mom, you're not dreaming. I'm back!" Travis hugged her tightly, his emotions overflowing.
He noticed she looked even older than he remembered from ten years ago.
Feeling his warmth, Raven finally believed it was real.
She broke down, hugging her son and sobbing.
She'd dreamed of Travis coming home for ten years, and it had finally happened.
After a while, Raven pulled herself together.
"Mom, hold on. Let me take care of this piece of trash first," Travis said, letting go of her and shooting a cold glare at the middle-aged man.
The man was still sprawled on the floor, trying to catch his breath.
When he saw Travis coming, he scrambled back in fear.
"What do you want? Don't come any closer!"
Travis's eyes burned with rage.
If he hadn't heard what was happening, Raven could've been hurt by this scumbag.
Rage boiling over, he grabbed the guy by the collar and slammed him down on the coffee table.
Crash!
The glass table shattered into pieces.
"What do you think I'm gonna do?" Travis said, his voice icy.
The blow nearly knocked the man out. Shards of glass ripped through his clothes, cutting his skin and leaving him bleeding all over.
"Ahhh! He's trying to kill me! Help!" the man screamed.
The commotion woke up the plump woman from her beauty sleep upstairs.
"What's all the racket?" she grumbled, peering downstairs with a face mask on.
"Ahh!!!" she screamed, seeing her husband lying in a pool of blood amid the shattered table.
She stormed down the stairs, pointing at Travis. "Who are you? Did you do this to my husband?"
She rushed over and helped her husband up. "Honey, are you okay?"
The man was in so much pain he couldn't even speak, just groaning.
"You bastard! How dare you hit my husband!"
The woman lunged at Travis, but he sidestepped and shoved her onto the couch.
"Why don't you ask your husband what he did first?"
"You're gonna pay for this! I'm calling the cops!" she screamed, grabbing something nearby and hurling it at him.
Raven quickly said, "Ma'am, it's not my son's fault."
She quickly explained what had happened.
The plump woman looked at her husband in disbelief. "Is that true?"
The man denied, "She's lying! Why would I be interested in a maid? She tried to seduce me and called this punk to beat me up!"
Raven, flustered, tried to explain, "That's not true, he..."
Smack!
The plump woman slapped Raven hard across the face.
"You homewrecker! How dare you talk about my husband like that! I know what kind of man he is. You, a maid, think you can marry him? In your dreams!"
Seeing this, the man relaxed, a sly grin spreading across his face.
Raven clutched her reddening cheek, tears welling up, "Ma'am, it wasn't like that..."
"Still talking back? I should teach you a lesson! I took you in out of kindness, and you repay me by going after my husband."
The woman lunged at Raven, totally losing it.
Travis stepped in, grabbing the woman by the throat and lifting her, despite her size, as if she weighed nothing.
"What... what are you doing?" she gasped, her face turning purple as she dangled.
"What do you think I'm doing?" Travis's voice was devoid of emotion.
"You can't control your husband, and now you accuse my mother? What do you think I should do?"
Terrified by Travis's murderous glare, the woman lost control, peeing herself on the floor.
Travis wrinkled his nose in disgust and was about to finish them both to get justice for his mother.
"Travis, don't! Let her go! We can't afford to mess with these people!" Raven pleaded, stepping between them.
Travis frowned but let go, tossing the plump woman aside. There wasn't a single person in the world he was afraid of.
"You're dead meat! Just wait!"
The plump woman, humiliated and furious, screamed.
Travis sneered, "Go ahead, I'll be waiting."
He turned to Raven. "Mom, let's quit. From now on, I'll take care of you."
Raven felt relieved, but hesitated, thinking about her salary.
"But what about the money..."
"You bitch! You seduced my husband, had your son beat us up, and now you want money? Dream on!" the plump woman screeched.
Before she could finish, Travis slapped her hard across the face, splitting her lip.
"Say one more word and I'll kill you!" he growled, barely holding back his rage.
He would've already killed them both if it weren't for his mother.
The plump woman shrank back under his deadly glare, too scared to say another word.
Travis snorted, "Mom, let's go."
But he wasn't about to let this go. The plump woman would live, but the man wouldn't.
As Raven turned to leave, Travis flicked his finger, sending a burst of hidden energy into the man's chest.
It would destroy his insides, and in a few hours, he'd drop dead. The doctors wouldn't find the reason for his death.
