"Ma'am, please, could you not take off my clothes? Can we talk this out?"
"Hey, why are you so shy?"
"We already got a room, and now you wanna play innocent?"
"Ma'am, let me be real with you. I'm not who you think I am. I'm an Immortal Doctor. Hey, hey… don't get all handsy!"
In the small motel room, a sexy, scantily-clad older woman strutted over to Nash Johnston.
He was speechless at how bold she was.
"Hey, hey!"
"I am an Immortal Doctor from the Dragon Continent, a world of cultivation. I'm the Medicine King from another world!"
Nash did his best to prove who he was, but the woman just burst out laughing.
"Oh? So you want to role-play and pretend to be a god or something?"
"Too bad I didn't bring any outfits today!"
Seeing that his honesty was met with disbelief, Nash was almost in tears.
As the woman continued to insist on undressing him, Nash became furious.
With a wave of his hand, he pushed her away.
"I'm telling you one more time, don't touch me! I'm a respectable guy, dammit! I'm an Immortal Doctor, get it?"
The woman, seeing Nash's determination not to undress, was now angry as well.
"Damn it!"
She cursed, then turned and grabbed a cigarette, placing it in her mouth.
"I don't care what crap you are! You came into this room, you gotta pay up three hundred bucks, not a cent less! Otherwise, you're gonna regret it!"
Suddenly, the door burst open, and in came two big guys covered in tattoos.
"Jenna, what's up?"
The woman, Jenna, pointed at Nash.
"This kid's a weirdo, keeps saying he's some immortal. He's all yours!"
Jenna began to dress herself. The two men, however, turned their malicious gaze toward Nash.
"Hey, punk, I'm talking to you! You wanna get carried out of here, or are you gonna cough up the cash?"
Nash felt a wave of frustration.
Was this one of those so-called honey traps?
"Damn it, seriously? I just got here, and this is what I have to deal with."
While Nash was railing against the heavens and earth, one of the thugs, brandishing a steel pipe, grinned menacingly at Nash.
"Hey, punk, I'm talking to you! You wanna get carried out of here, or are you gonna cough up the cash?"
As an Immortal Doctor from the Dragon Continent, how could Nash be intimidated by this?
He lifted his head and smiled slightly.
"You losers want money? Yeah, right, keep dreaming!"
Seeing Nash's defiance, the two thugs were furious.
"Alright, you asked for it. Beat him up!"
With a roar, they charged at Nash, swinging the steel pipe toward his head.
Bang, bang!
Before the pipes even touched him, Nash slapped both thugs, sending them flying.
As the Medicine King from the Dragon Continent, there's no way these guys could take a hit from him.
In seconds, Nash knocked them both out cold.
Jenna just stood there, stunned, seeing both guys knocked out by Nash.
She stared at him, trembling with fear.
"Please don't hit me… I don't know anything… really, I'm begging you!"
Nash sighed, walked over, and said, "Relax, I never hit women. But listen, I am an Immortal Doctor."
With that, Nash opened the motel door and stepped out.
Just as he stepped out, about to figure out how he'd ended up here, police sirens suddenly started blaring downstairs.
"Freeze! Don't move!"
The once-mighty Immortal Doctor got hauled off to the police station.
...
Nytherea detention center...
Nash just stood there, staring at the iron bars, feeling hopeless.
"What kind of messed-up world is this?"
"I'm the dashing and invincible young Medicine King from the Dragon Continent, and I got arrested."
"And all because of soliciting?!"
Thinking of this, Nash almost wanted to bash his head against the wall.
Nash Johnston was the youngest and most talented Medicine King in a thousand years from the Medicine Sect of the Dragon Continent. He died when his alchemy cauldron exploded while making a divine pill, causing a massive disturbance and blowing him to bits.
Right as everything blew up, Nash saw a flash of light.
That light led Nash here, where he saw some scruffy guy on an e-bike heading into that motel room.
Perhaps it was fate? Perhaps destiny?
Next thing he knew, he'd ended up in that guy's body.
But the one thing he still didn't understand was who that guy was.
And why'd he go into that motel?
He only knew the guy he possessed had the same name as him.
Nash also realized he was on Earth.
Memories of the guy flowed into Nash's mind.
Thinking about how he, the legendary Medicine King, got tossed in jail the second he arrived, Nash couldn't help but feel miserable.
As Nash tried to recall the memories of the body he inhabited, a voice suddenly came from his left.
"Hey man, you've been standing there zoning out for like two hours. What's on your mind?"
Nash turned and saw some shady-looking dude with dark skin and a face full of freckles leaning against the wall and staring at him.
"First time getting busted?" the guy asked.
Nash smiled, neither nodding nor shaking his head.
"Makes sense!"
"Don't worry, bro! For guys like us, you usually pay a fine, spend ten days or maybe a couple weeks in here, and then you're out."
"Which bathhouse did you get busted at? Are the ladies good?" the shady guy asked with a lecherous grin.
Nash gave a wry smile and said, "I wasn't even there for that."
"I'm telling the truth." He added, just in case the guy didn't believe him.
"Tch, you still embarrassed? Nothing to be scared of! I was unlucky. My pants were barely off, hadn't even touched the girl, and the undercover cops nabbed me!"
The guy spat on the floor as he complained.
"Yeah, sounds like you got the short end of the stick."
As Nash and the shady guy shared their tales, suddenly, the sound of high heels clicking echoed down the hallway.
The two looked over, and the first thing they saw was a pair of long, beautiful legs in black stockings.
Then they saw a gorgeous woman.
The woman had long, cascading hair over her shoulders and was wearing a professional skirt.
Whether it was her figure or her looks, she was a bona fide goddess.
Even Nash, who'd seen plenty of gorgeous immortal women back on the Dragon Continent, had to admit the woman's beauty.
Her skin was flawless, and her perfectly shaped eyebrows were stunning.
"Damn!"
"She's insanely hot, isn't she?"
The shady guy drooled as the woman approached.
Nash nodded in agreement, "She is indeed beautiful."
"Man, if I had a wife like that, who'd ever need to go looking for girls? Am I right?" the shady guy mused with admiration.
"Right!"
As soon as Nash said that, the two cops behind the woman called out, "Nash Johnston, your wife's here to bail you out. You can leave now!"
Nash and the shady guy went silent.
The cops unlocked the gate, and the woman led Nash away.
Following his wife out, Nash noticed she was indifferent. She didn't even look his way.
He couldn't help but wonder, "Is this my wife?"
After posting bail, they walked out of the detention center.
Behind them, Nash could hear two cops gossiping.
"Man, this guy's got a wife that hot, and he still went to a bathhouse? He must be nuts!"
"I agree!"
"He's a loser, the Ryder family's live-in son-in-law!"
"Live-in son-in-law?"
"Yeah! Do you know who that woman is? She's Jessie Ryder."
At this name, the other two cops suddenly understood.
"Oh, you mean that Ryder family live-in son-in-law everyone was talking about in Nytherea half a year ago!"
"Talk about a beauty and the beast situation."
"Indeed!"
Although the cops spoke softly, their conversation reached Nash's ears.
Nash immediately felt uneasy.
He was finally starting to piece things together.
He was stuck as some useless live-in son-in-law.
"Damn it!" Nash cursed in his mind.
He had once been the dashing, handsome, and extraordinarily talented young Medicine King from the Dragon Continent, pursued by countless immortal maidens.
How had he ended up like this?
He couldn't accept it.
He looked up at the gorgeous woman walking ahead of him, and that made him feel a little better.
"Gotta admit, my wife is a stunner!"
"Well, I'm here now, so I might as well roll with it!"
"No matter what, I need to figure out the situation first. Once I regain my powers, I'll leave this place in no time."
He took a deep breath, trying to absorb some spiritual energy from the air, only to realize the Earth wasn't anything like what he had expected.
There was nothing but smog and dirty air, no spiritual energy to be found.
Nash was immediately disheartened.
"No spiritual energy means I can't cultivate!"
"Without cultivation, I can't return to my original world."
"So what the hell am I supposed to do now?"
While Nash was pondering this, he suddenly sensed a wisp of spiritual energy. It came from his wife.
"She's got spiritual energy? No way!"
Sensing the familiar spiritual energy, Nash nearly shouted in excitement.
While Nash was thrilled, Jessie Ryder had already reached the White Porsche Cayenne parked at the entrance.
"Get in." Her voice was just as cold as her attitude.
Nash slid into the passenger seat.
He wanted to be closer to Jessie to absorb more spiritual energy.
He'd never sat up front before, not because he didn't want to, but because Jessie never let him.
Now, seeing Nash sitting there, Jessie shot him a weird look.
But in the end, she just got in, started the car, and drove off.
