When Nash started fighting back, Talia burst into tears.
She cried her eyes out, tears streaming down her face.
Watching her bawl like that, Nash was speechless.
"Hey, what are you even crying for?" he said.
"I didn't even lay a finger on you. What's all this about?"
Talia kept bawling, cursing through her tears, "Nash, you bastard! Bullying your sister-in-law. You're the worst!"
Nash was speechless, and thankfully, no one else was around.
Otherwise, people would think he did something to Talia.
"Go ahead, cry all you want!" Nash said.
"I've got nothing but time. Cry until you're tired, take a nap if you want. Oh, there are tissues next to you. Don't even think about wiping your snot on my blanket!"
Nash just sat down cross-legged, letting her wail away.
Talia thought that crying would garner her some sympathy, but Nash remained indifferent.
She sniffled, wiped away her fake tears, stood up, and tugged at Nash's sleeve.
"Help me out, please? I need some cash right now, I'm begging you!"
When threats didn't work, it was time for the sweet talk.
Nash opened his eyes, looked at his troublemaking sister-in-law, and suddenly grinned.
"See, wasn't that easier? Don't worry, your brother-in-law's got your back. Here, I made two bucks selling medicine yesterday. You can take a cab home and get some sleep. Don't wipe your snot on my blanket!"
He handed her the wrinkled cash.
"Nash, you jerk! Are you trying to treat me like a beggar?" Talia yelled, tossing the money on the floor and stomping on it.
Nash just laughed. "Take it or leave it. Don't want it? Suit yourself."
He bent over and picked up the money.
"You stubborn jerk!" Talia glared at him, hands on her hips.
"You're not giving me any money today, huh?"
"Nope, not a chance!" Nash said.
"Fine, if you won't give me money, I'll just tell everyone you tried to get handsy with me. Let's see how you keep your dignity around here after that!" Talia smirked.
"Trying to scare me? Go for it!"
Nash shot back.
"Just watch me!" Talia ran out the door.
"Hey, come check this out! Nash Johnston is trying to mess with his sister-in-law!"
Her voice was shrill, carrying through the street like a siren at night.
Nash was seriously at a loss for words.
He thought she was kidding.
"You crazy girl, get back here!"
Nash reached out, grabbed her around the waist, and hauled her back into the clinic.
She was soft and smelled nice.
"You little maniac! You ran out there yelling like that? Can you at least care about your image? You're so pretty. How are you gonna get a boyfriend later?" Nash scolded her.
Talia gave a sly grin, "Scared now? Give me the money!"
Nash was getting nervous.
Talia didn't care about her reputation.
He hesitated, face full of reluctance, "How much do you want?"
"200!"
"200? Your sister only gave me 300, and I haven't even spent any of it myself! No way!"
"150!"
"I'll go out and yell again right now!"
As Talia was about to bolt, Nash surrendered.
"I give up, okay? Here's 150. Take it and go. Please don't come back!"
Talia grabbed the money, grinning from ear to ear.
Nash, meanwhile, felt like wringing her neck.
"Now that's more like it," Talia said with a mischievous grin.
Nash felt completely defeated.
"If I weren't broke right now, I wouldn't even ask you for money! Don't worry. When I get my five grand pocket money next month, I'll pay you back right away!"
"Later!" Talia said, swinging her bag as she bounced out of Nash's clinic.
Watching her leave, Nash felt super annoyed.
Halfway out, Talia turned around and said, "Hey, Nash, how come you're so different now?"
Nash leaned against the door and said, "So, which do you like better? The old me or the new me?"
"Neither! But you're more fun now!" Talia said with a grin.
"Just wait, I'll be back to bug you again. Bye!" And with that, she was gone.
Watching her walk away, Nash felt like crying himself.
He used to be the Medicine King of the Dragon Continent, and now he's stuck here, can't sell his medicine, and his sister-in-law robbed him.
This is just ridiculous.
The next day, Nash gave up.
The medicine still wouldn't sell. The clinic was doomed.
He figured he might as well focus on his training and wait until he could get back to Dragon Continent.
It wasn't until noon that Nash finally opened the clinic.
He took down his sign, ready to close the clinic.
"Screw this clinic! I'm done!"
Just then, six taxis parked outside his clinic.
The doors swung open, and a bunch of cab drivers piled out.
Leading the pack was a tall, skinny guy in a black jacket, with six more men right behind him.
Nash blinked as he watched the taxi drivers.
"That's him!" The tall, skinny guy pointed at Nash.
Nash looked at the men.
Were they here to cause trouble?
Still, Nash wasn't scared at all.
Even if this body was a bit on the scrawny side, he was the Medicine King.
Plus, with the Body Refining Technique training lately, he figured he could take on ten men.
