"What a reckless guy! How dare you even insult Elias? Are you crazy?"
"Hurry up and apologize, before Dr. Webberlye tells the hospital director. Otherwise, you're done for."
The two nurses, probably feeling sorry for the Casson family, couldn't help but give Levi some advice.
Mavis and Mila each grabbed Levi's sleeve, hinting for him to stop talking.
Bewell Hospital was well-connected, and Elias was the last person they wanted to mess with. Besides, they were hoping Elias could actually save Cyrus.
But Levi saw things clearly-he knew they just wanted more money, and he was confident he could treat his dad himself.
"Levi, no matter what anyone says, I'll always believe in you! If you say you can cure me, help me up-we'll go home and you can treat me there," Cyrus suddenly said.
"Go home? Are you trying to get yourself killed? You don't trust your son-you're just broke," Shepherd said, calling Cyrus out.
To be honest, Cyrus had given up long ago-he didn't want to keep dragging his family down. Where was he supposed to come up with so much money? Was he really supposed to watch his wife and daughter sell their organs just to save him? He'd rather be dead.
Mavis and Mila burst into tears. "You can't give up while there's still hope! What would I do without you?"
"Dad, don't worry. As long as I'm here, nothing's going to happen to you!"
There was no way Mavis and Mila were just going to leave; going home basically meant waiting to die.
"Dad, we don't have to go home. I can treat you right here," Levi said.
"Levi! Just listen to me!" Cyrus shook his head stubbornly, insisting on leaving.
Levi knew his dad had already come to terms with life and death; he just didn't want the family to lose face in front of others.
"Dad, you earn your own dignity-no one gives it to you. I promise I'll cure you. Trust me, okay?" Levi said, silver needle in hand.
Cyrus looked at Levi's determined face and suddenly smiled. "Alright, I trust you!" he said, lying down. If he was going to trust anyone, it'd be his own son.
"What, you're actually doing this? Just so you know, if anything goes wrong, the hospital's not responsible! It's not too late to do what I say," Shepherd warned.
Hearing that, Mavis and Mila immediately freaked out.
"Mom, Mila, relax. Would I say this if I wasn't sure? I'd never hurt Dad. Trust me-he'll be fine in no time," Levi said, trying to reassure them.
With Levi reassuring them, Mavis and Mila could only choose to believe him.
"Heh, let's see what kind of medical skills an ex-con like you really has. If you screw this up and he dies, you'll be nothing but a monster who killed his own father!" Shepherd sneered.
The moment he finished talking, Levi was suddenly in front of him and slapped him hard.
Smack!
Shepherd went flying back several feet, blood gushing from his mouth.
Everyone in the room was stunned, staring at Levi in shock.
That was a brutal hit!
"Your mouth's like a sewer. If you can't talk like a human, then just don't talk."
Shepherd staggered up, trying to point at Levi but unable to speak, just mumbling, "Mmm, mmm..." His jaw was completely dislocated!
Shaking with anger, Shepherd stormed out, and the two nurses quickly followed-no one wanted to mess with Levi now.
Levi didn't waste a second-he got to work, expertly sticking silver needles into different acupoints.
He used thirteen needles in total.
Each spot needed a different depth, angle, and technique.
As soon as Levi was done, Cyrus suddenly spat up a mouthful of blood.
Levi was ready-he caught it all in a nearby basin.
Mavis and Mila were scared at first, but when they saw that the blood in the basin was all dark purple, they could tell that it was a good sign, even if they didn't know much about medicine.
Sure enough, after spitting out the blood, Cyrus immediately looked a lot better.
"How do you feel now?" Mavis asked.
"I feel great! Levi's medical skills are way better than the doctors here. I feel lighter already," Cyrus said with a big smile.
Hearing the strength in his voice, Mavis and Mila finally let out a sigh of relief.
"Bro, where'd you learn to do all this?" Mila asked, her eyes full of admiration.
"I learned from a master while I was in prison-he taught me medicine and martial arts," Levi said, leaving out the part about cultivation since most people wouldn't believe it anyway.
"Well, Levi really is lucky," Mavis said, smiling proudly.
"Bro, you're amazing!" Mila said, her face flushed with excitement.
The family finally started smiling again, now that Cyrus was feeling better. But their happiness didn't last long.
A group of people suddenly barged into the room, looking intimidating.
Leading the group was a middle-aged man with a square face and thick eyebrows, who looked every bit the authority figure. He was Terry, the hospital director. Besides running the hospital, Terry was a big name in Floriaville's business scene and high society.
Everybody knew it, so even though Mila always had doubts about the hospital's fees and skills, she never dared to speak up.
Next to Terry stood an old man with a long white beard and thick glasses, looking just like a wise old scholar. It was Elias.
"So you're the one who hit Shepherd?" Terry said coldly, cutting straight to the chase.
Behind him, two huge bodyguards looked ready to jump in at any moment.
Seeing all this, Mavis and Mila shook with fear, and Levi stepped in front of them, ready to face Terry head-on.
"Yeah, that guy's filthy mouth had it coming," Levi replied calmly.
"What did you just say!?" Terry shot back, shocked. "I run a hospital. My doctors are here to save lives. Even if they're a little harsh, it's for your own good! Don't you know what's good for you?"
"He called me an ex-con and a monster who killed his own dad. That's supposed to be for my own good?" Levi shot back.
"It might sound harsh, but it's the truth," Terry replied, face hard.
"Heh, then I guess I can call you a biased old fool who only looks out for his own. That okay with you?" Levi shot back, smirking.
"You little punk!" Terry exploded, about to order his men to go after Levi, but Elias suddenly stepped in.
"Wait!" Elias, who'd been checking out the silver needles on Cyrus, finally spoke up. "Is this the legendary Thirteen Needles of Rejuvenation? Kid, where did you learn this?"
At that moment, Elias looked at Levi like he'd just found a priceless treasure.
