"Kid, take a punch from me!"
Arthur, the gray-haired elder, suddenly lunged forward, turning into a blur as he charged straight at Evan Gates. When he was just two meters away, his fist shot out with a whoosh-crack, crack, crack-the air around them was ripped apart.
"How arrogant!" Evan snorted coldly, his face full of disdain. He put his left hand behind his back and casually swung his right hand in a light slap.
Smack!
Arthur, still two meters away, suddenly felt an unstoppable force slam into him. Before he could react, his chest shook violently, and he was sent flying like a kite with a broken string, crashing hard into the wall behind him. He hit the wall so hard that it left a deep dent, scattering debris everywhere and covering the wall in cracks.
Thud!
Arthur lay sprawled on the ground, coughing up blood. He struggled to lift his head, veins bulging all over his neck and face, his eyes blood-red with shock and terror. "Energy Projection... you... you... you're a Grandmaster-"
Bang! Before Arthur could finish, his head dropped heavily, and he passed out.
"Arthur!" Everyone from the Morgan and Collins families turned pale as they watched their ace martial artist get crushed by Evan so easily.
"Alberto Morgan, do you have any more tricks up your sleeve? If not, then it's my turn!" Suddenly, a voice cold as ice sounded right next to Alberto's ear.
Alberto was so scared he almost peed himself. When he looked up, he saw Evan standing right in front of him, his face blank.
"No! Don't kill me! I know I was wrong!" Alberto pleaded immediately. Evan was so terrifying that Alberto couldn't even think about fighting back.
Everyone in the Morgan family knew just how strong Arthur was. He could take on a hundred people at once, but Evan beat him without breaking a sweat. What chance did ordinary people like them have?
"Now you want to beg for mercy? Don't you think it's a little too late?" Evan sneered.
"Evan... no, Mr. Gates, what happened back then really was our Morgan family's fault. But if you're willing to let us go, we'll give you five billion as compensation. What do you say?" Idris Morgan had no choice but to bow his head.
"I'll give you fifty billion if you can bring my brother back from the dead."
Evan grinned. His smile looked gentle, but to the Morgan family, it felt like the devil himself was smiling at them-utterly terrifying.
"So what do you want from us? Killing us won't bring Zayne Bell back!" Idris said in a low voice.
"Killing you won't bring him back, but it'll let him rest in peace."
[Idris is speechless.]
[Alberto is speechless.]
[ Tiana Collins is speechless.]
"So, compared to five billion, I want Zayne to be able to rest in peace!" As Evan spoke, he suddenly reached out, grabbed Alberto's arms, and twisted them hard.
Crack! Crack!
The sharp crack of breaking bones echoed throughout the wedding hall. Everyone stared at Alberto's arms, now twisted at a crazy ninety-degree angle, their hearts pounding and cold sweat running down their backs.
After freezing in shock, Alberto was hit by a wave of excruciating pain that shot from his arms all over his body.
"Ahhh~~~"
Alberto threw his head back and howled in pain, collapsing on the floor.
Crack! Crack!
Before anyone from the Morgan family could react, Evan stomped down on both of Alberto's knees, shattering them completely.
"Uh, uh, uh~~"
Alberto's neck veins bulged, and the pain was so intense that he couldn't even make a sound.
"Alberto!" Idris felt his heart shatter seeing his son's agony.
Everyone in the Morgan family turned white as a sheet, staring at Evan like he was the devil himself. The Collins family was just as terrified, backing away in fear.
They had helped take down the Bell family back then, so if Evan was here to avenge Zayne, the Collins family was in trouble too!
"I told you, letting him die so easily would be too good for him. I'm going to make him wish he were dead!" Evan looked at Alberto's ruined arms and legs, but there was no satisfaction in his eyes-only a burning hatred.
With a flick of his finger, Evan sent a burst of energy straight into Alberto's body.
Alberto's whole body started shaking and convulsing uncontrollably.
Seeing Alberto's strange reaction, Idris' face changed dramatically. He yelled at Evan, "You psycho! What did you do to my son?"
"You'll know soon enough." Evan stood with his hands behind his back, giving a faint smile.
As soon as he finished speaking, Alberto started twitching uncontrollably.
"It itches! It itches like crazy! It feels like there are ten thousand ants crawling and biting inside me! Dad, please help me scratch! I can't stand it!" Alberto felt not only the pain of his broken limbs but also an unbearable itch all over.
"Okay, I'll scratch it for you. Where does it itch the most?" Idris, terrified by his son's twisted face, reached out to scratch him. But the more he scratched, the louder Alberto screamed!
"It itches so much! Ah~~~ Dad, help me... save me!" Alberto's face twisted in agony, torn between pain and itching.
"You little punk! What the hell did you do to my son? Answer me!" Idris stood up, glaring at Evan with murder in his eyes, wishing he could tear him apart.
"I told you, I'm going to make him wish he were dead! This is what he gets for driving my brother to his grave! And this is just the beginning. From now on, the itching will get twice as bad every single day! You'll have to watch your own son suffer in hellish pain until the day he dies! Your Morgan family has money, right? Let's see if you can buy your way out of this." Evan finished with that harmless smile once more.
Everyone felt a chill run down their spines, frozen in fear.
With his arms and legs ruined and his body itching like crazy, this was truly what it meant to be 'worse than dead'!
"You monster! You psycho! You animal!" Idris shouted at Evan, "I swear, if anything happens to my son, I'll tear you limb from limb!"
"Funny, that's exactly what I want to say to your Morgan family, the Collins family, and everyone else who had a hand in what happened to the Bell family." Evan turned and looked straight at Tiana Collins, who looked like she'd just seen a ghost.
Tiana trembled with fear. "No! Please! I had nothing to do with Zayne's death-it was all Alberto! Please, I'm begging you, let me go!"
Evan suddenly smiled-a smile that chilled to the bone. "Relax, I'm not going to kill you yet. In a month, on the anniversary of Zayne's death, you'll die the same way he did-on the rooftop of the Imperial Tower. Mark your calendar."
With that, Evan turned and walked toward the exit.
Tiana's legs gave way, and she collapsed to the ground.
Evan could've killed her right then and there, but he didn't. Instead, he told her exactly when and where she'd die, making sure she'd live in fear every single day until then.
This was killing someone without lifting a finger-tormenting her mind before her body.
