Although the Fever Relief Pill did work after Melissa swallowed one, she figured she probably hadn't had a fever in the first place.
Caspian nodded.
"When I first learned to refine pills, I made a ton. Since someone likes them, you can sell them. They're just taking up space."
So the next day, Melissa listed a new item in her livestream's shopping section.
[Fever Relief Pill. Buy at Your Own Risk.]
She counted the batch Caspian had given her.
There were five hundred pills in total.
Then came the hard part.
How much should she charge?
Her brother had called them trash, so she set the price at a dollar apiece.
With that done, she went live.
[Finally! Been waiting forever.]
[Melissa, where's your brother? Let him come on too. I want to see your brother practice cultivation, lol.]
Melissa turned and glanced at Caspian, who was watching TV.
"My brother is watching TV."
[Wait, so an immortal watches TV too? I thought immortals only refined pills.]
The live comments had barely scrolled by when a loud bang erupted from the living room.
Boom!
Melissa jumped up and hurried over.
She found the television with a hole punched right through it, and Caspian was perfectly fine.
She checked on him first.
Caspian stared at the broken TV screen and said, "Melissa, why are TVs these days so outdated? I tried to reach in and grab something, but it wouldn't come out."
Melissa looked at the ruined TV, then at his forearm.
"Bro, you can't take stuff out of a TV. If you want something, I'll order it on my phone."
He snorted. "That's so inconvenient. Back where I'm from, I could just reach into the virtual screen and grab the items. The mortal world is really behind the times."
They were in the living room with the TV, so everyone in chat heard them.
[Awesome!]
[Melissa's brother is unstoppable!]
[It sounds fantastical, but I love watching Melissa's brother talk big. It's as exciting as a cultivation drama.]
[What a flex!]
[BigBull sent an Awesome Gift ×1.]
[Hahaha this dude is hilarious! Reaching into a screen to grab stuff? Great idea, but no way.]
[Help, I'm in love with the brother's tall tales too.]
[Melissa, let your brother sit beside you and brag every stream. Your views will explode.]
[Not gonna lie, it's got that vibe. Feels fake, but he has that nerdy energy. I'm telling the nerds at school. They might find a companion.]
[We have nerds at our school too. Lately he said his family's ancestor told him someone was about to face a tribulation, so he shouldn't go near that spot. And you know what, that day thunder really boomed over by Paradise Square. As for the tribulation, nobody saw it.]
Melissa read the live comments, then looked at Caspian squatting to check out the wrecked TV, and didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"Okay, that's enough. Back up! Don't get burned."
They hadn't sold a single pill yet and they had to replace a TV.
Life was really doing her dirty.
But Caspian was her only brother.
She just sighed. Blaming him never crossed her mind.
She reached out to move the busted TV.
It was still hot. The moment her fingers touched it, she yelped.
"Ow!"
"What's wrong?"
Caspian noticed and stood up, walking over.
"I burned myself."
Her face crumpled, eyes welling up. Anyone would've felt bad for her.
Caspian took her wrist and lifted it.
With his other hand, he tapped her scalded palm.
A streak of golden light flared.
The light wrapped around her whole hand.
Then, the blisters that had already risen vanished, and her skin was back to normal.
She didn't feel any pain at all.
It all happened live on stream.
The chat blew up.
[What the...]
[Huh? Did I just hallucinate?]
[???]
[Where did the blisters on Melissa's hand go?]
[It was all scalded a second ago. I felt so bad for her, and now it's perfect?]
[Holy crap!]
[What am I even watching!]
[Awesome!]
[SunGod sent the streamer a Super Rocket Gift ×1.]
[Melissa, come closer! Let me see your hand!]
[ILoveHotpot sent a High-Energy Alert ×1.]
[Showboat sent a High-Energy Alert ×1.]
[StrokesHimself sent an Airplane gift ×1.]
Melissa hadn't even recovered her wits.
She stared at the flood of gifts, completely dazed.
She had started streaming in her freshman year to make ends meet. It had been over two years.
Although her stream had never drawn many views, she did have a few diehard fans.
Sometimes someone would send a rocket gift or two, but she had never gotten a streak like this before.
All the gifts left her stunned.
For a moment, she didn't know what to do.
Even so, she thanked them one by one.
"Thank you, Strokes Himself... for your airplane."
Only after she read it out did she realize how weird it sounded.
This was not the time to dwell on it.
She looked at her palm and gave a sheepish smile.
"Just now my brother and I performed a magic trick for everyone. How was it? Not bad, right?"
Faced with the barrage of questions, she had no idea how else to explain.
[Hehe, then have your brother do another magic trick.]
[How did that golden light appear?]
[Melissa, we'll send rocket gifts. Get your brother on stream, pretty please!]
[Streamer, I'm only here for your brother.]
[Who cares about games? I'd rather watch Melissa's brother brag.]
Seeing the live comments, Melissa said, "Hey, this is my stream, not my brother's. Did your love for me already vanish?"
