Kylian Thubron fought alone against six Veinflow Realm experts from the Thubron family, yet he never once gave ground.
An Imperial-level Cultivation Method fed him a surging ocean of Spiritual Power, and the power in his bloodline bolstered his combat strength even further.
More importantly, the plain-looking Harpoon in his hands was the spirit-grade weapon he had obtained when his father died in battle.
Those three advantages gave Kylian the nerve to take on six Veinflow Realm opponents by himself.
Byron Cutmore watched Kylian on the screen and nodded again and again. "Not bad. He's got a bit of my old swagger."
When it looked like Kylian had vented enough, Byron turned to Titus Seagroatt beside him. "Second Elder, inform Nathaniel and Denise. Have them go out and give their little junior brother a hand."
He added, "If you never taste blood and only bury yourself in cultivation, you'll never amount to much."
Titus Seagroatt cupped his hands. "As you command."
Not long after, two more youths appeared at the entrance of Skysoar Sect.
After reaching the Spirit Spring Realm, Nathaniel Urwin no longer broke through several realms in one breath, but his cultivation speed was still impressive. He had reached the third level of the Spirit Spring Realm. Along the East Sea Coast, that already counted as top-tier strength.
Denise Lyson, on the other hand, had trained day and night for two straight days and only barely pushed herself to the peak of Energy Condensation.
Byron glanced at her, his mood dipping slightly. "Sigh. Denise's talent really is worse. Out of the three, her cultivation is the lowest."
At the sect gate, Nathaniel and Denise stood shoulder to shoulder. Watching Kylian trade blows with the six attackers, Nathaniel's hands itched.
"I've been training for days. I don't even know what level I'm at anymore."
He lifted his voice. "Junior brother! Take a breather. Let your senior brother have a go!"
Hearing Nathaniel's shout, Kylian finally loosened the breath he had been holding.
The blue aura around Kylian had already faded a great deal. Before long, fatigue would start to show. This was the perfect chance to recover.
"Alright!"
With Kylian's answer, Nathaniel charged straight into the fray.
This was Nathaniel's first real battle since becoming Byron's disciple, and excitement surged through him.
"Watch this!"
His robe snapped in the wind. Around his body, dense, visible whirlpools of Spiritual Power spun into existence.
Denise felt it and her eyes widened. "What? That kind of attack can come from the Spirit Spring Realm?"
"Mortals can only use the Spiritual Power inside their bodies. Only after stepping into the spirit tier can you draw on the Spiritual Power around you to attack!"
"He's only in the Spirit Spring Realm. How is he triggering a change in the world's Spiritual Power?"
The former Half Emperor was completely stunned.
Ever since coming to Skysoar Sect, everything around her had grown more and more absurd.
Nathaniel gathered every ounce of strength into his fist and drove a punch at one member of the Thubron family.
"Boom!"
A thunderous blast rang out.
The Thubron family member in front of him vanished on the spot.
He hadn't evaporated. His entire body had been pulverized into a spray of blood, splattering the Thubron family members behind him from head to toe.
The thick stench of blood slammed into everyone's nostrils.
All movement stopped. Everyone stared at Nathaniel in silence.
What kind of monster was this?
How could he command the Spiritual Power in the air?
One punch, and a Veinflow Realm cultivator became a mist of gore?
Was he even human?
Nathaniel scratched the back of his head, looking a little embarrassed. "Uh… did I hit too hard?"
He glanced at Kylian. "Junior brother, you don't mind me killing your clansman, right?"
Kylian had been scared senseless by that punch. He could only shake his head like a machine.
After what felt like an eternity, one of the Thubron family members trembled and stammered, "S-Spirit Spring Realm!"
"Kylian's senior brother is in the Spirit Spring Realm. Then his master…"
Only then did the Thubron family finally think about retreating.
Two of them hurriedly pleaded, "Kylian, we're the same clan. Let me go."
"Yeah, Kylian, I know I was wrong! Please, show mercy!"
Their words had barely fallen when a furious shout cut through the air.
"Impudent! How could the Thubron family ever produce two cowards like you!"
A figure streaked in from the distance at terrifying speed.
"The family head! The family head is here!"
"Kylian's senior brother is at the third level of the Spirit Spring Realm, but the family head is already at the ninth level! The advantage is ours!"
"Don't forget, Skysoar Sect only has three disciples out here. If an elder comes out, we might be wiped out."
Kylian stared at the approaching silhouette, and rage surged up from the pit of his stomach.
He had fled from the Thubron family all the way here, and it was all because of Christian Thubron.
When Christian arrived, he didn't waste a single word. He slapped the two would-be deserters unconscious on the spot.
Christian fixed his gaze on Kylian and spoke in a low voice. "Tie these two useless things up and throw them into the Thubron family's death prison. Don't let them run."
Then he said, "Kylian, are you not coming home with your uncle?"
Kylian's expression stayed cold. "Uncle? Heh."
"The uncle who fed our clansmen to Sea Beasts?"
"The uncle who wanted to cut off a clan nephew's arm and transplant it, all for his own son's future?"
The moment Kylian said it, the Thubron family crowd looked as if lightning had struck them.
"What? Feeding clansmen to Sea Beasts?"
"How is that possible! Kylian, don't slander the family head!"
"The family head has broken his back for the Thubron family. Everyone's seen it. You vile beast, how dare you spit such blood-soaked lies!"
Kylian didn't even glance at them. He continued, voice steady.
"Uncle, you think you covered your tracks perfectly, but walls have ears."
"You claimed you were sending clansmen to the Sea King's side to temper themselves, but you were actually offering them to Sea Beasts in exchange for the Thubron family's safety when the Sea Beasts rioted, wasn't that it?"
"You might tell yourself it was for the Thubron family's survival, but do you still remember…"
"The ancestor left us a clan precept!"
"Better to snap Kunlun jade than bend Hanshan iron. When Thubron descendants stand in this world, our heads may hang from city gates, but our knees will not touch an enemy's dust. If the sword breaks in our hands, we will not yield in court; if blood splashes three feet high, we will not kneel before the ninefold heavens."
He lifted his chin. "So tell me, my good uncle. Did you violate the precept?"
Christian's heart jolted. His eyes narrowed to slits as he spoke slowly, "Kylian, for your father's sake, for all he gave the Thubron family, I didn't wish to kill you. But if you keep defaming me…"
"I will kill you."
Kylian laughed coldly. "Defaming you? Heh."
"Christian Thubron submitted to Sea Beasts, clung to life like a worm, and sent clansmen to Sea Beasts as food. My father and I saw it with our own eyes!"
"Three months ago, Tang Qi, Tang Qiang, Tang Yang, and the others, ten people in total, were swallowed whole at sea by a Mystic Core Realm Sea Beast!"
"My father and I happened to be hunting low-level Sea Beasts in that area. We were far away, but I would never mistake the aura of our own clansmen!"
Those words detonated the crowd.
A Veinflow Realm cultivator stumbled forward, eyes rimmed red, his body shaking as he faced Christian. "Family head… my Qi… my boy… he really was taken by Sea Beasts…"
"Pff!"
Before the man could finish, Christian struck.
With a single palm, he smashed the man's skull to pieces.
What happened next made every scalp in the area go numb.
Christian reached into the corpse, tore out the clansman's heart, shoved it into his mouth, and began to chew.
