Julian sat cross-legged in the damp chill of the tunnels beneath Veridia, eyes squeezed shut. He pushed his mind outward, trying to catch the flicker of a Weaver's presence in the dark, but found only the cold stone and the echo of his own breathing.
*It has only been three days, don't be impatient,* the matriarch's voice echoed in his mind, sounding more like a direct injection of thought than a sound.
