“Perhaps he’s not like the rumors suggest, you know?” Wen Ran retorts with a light frown. “Even if he isn’t as sick as the rumors suggest, have you ever thought about why he married you, Wen Ran? Please don’t tell me you weren’t aware that he is Mo Zixuan’s half-brother…” “Xiaoxiao, I’ve got some things to deal with, I’ll call you back later!” Wen Ran, noticing Mo Zixuan stepping out of his car with a sly glance, her pupils lightly dilating, doesn’t give Bai Xiaoxiao a chance to speak and hangs up the phone directly. Seeing him quickly approach her, she felt annoyed. What exactly was he aiming for, persistently bothering her like this? “Ranran, get in the car with me. Let’s talk things out.” Having experienced her outwitting him this morning, this time, Mo Zixuan grabs her without giving her a chance to get away, promptly pulling her along as he walks away. Wen Ran was a step too late to dodge him and was pulled along to the roadside. She lifted her bag in irritation to hit him and retorted: “Mo Zixuan, let me go!” “I won’t.” Mo Zixuan states with determination, he wouldn’t let her go, even if he had slept with another woman;n, she was the one he loved in his heart. He felt that she should forgive him. Moreover, he didn’t willingly sleep with Zhou Lin. He was drugged that night; without the drug, he surely wouldn’t have slept with her. “Let her go!” Suddenly, a deep and cold voice rings out. Wen Ran turns her head in surprise to see Mo Xiuchen stepping out of a black Aston parked on the roadside with a stern expression, walking forward in two strides, grabbing Mo Zixuan’s arm, and pulling Wen Ran towards him. Coming so suddenly and swiftly, Mo Zixuan was unable to dodge; his arm ached from Mo Xiuchen’s grip, his grip slackened, and Wen Ran was snatched away. “Mo Xiuchen!” Mo Zixuan glares at Mo Xiuchen, wishing he could kill him there and then. Ignoring his hatred, Mo Xiuchen coldly warns, “I don’t care about your past relationship with her, but from now on, she is your sister-in-law. The situation just now, don’t let me see it happen again!” With that said, his cold gaze sweeps over Mo Zixuan’s arm, implying that if it happened again, he would disable his arm. Wen Ran’s face turns slightly pale, and her body stiffens. Mo Zixuan’s forehead veins bulge, he stares straight at Mo Xiuchen, so furious that he forgets to be afraid, “Don’t think I don’t know it was your doing, Mo Xiuchen, you despicable lowlife, even if Ranran marries you, the one she truly loves in her heart will always be me!” Mo Xiuchen sneers coldly at his accusation, disdainful of even explaining. He turns around, pulls Wen Ran into the car, and seemingly to purposefully irritate Mo Zixuan, he courteously opens the car door for Wen Ran, watches her get in, then walks around to the driver’s side and gets in. Watching the departing black Aston, Mo Zixuan clenched his fists, vowing he’d steal Wen Ran back. The Aston drives at a steady pace. Within the confined car, oppression permeates. The air Wen Ran drew into her nostrils was steeped with the masculine aura of the man next to her, making her heart beat wildly for no reason. Since getting into the car, he hadn’t spoken a word, his handsome face cold, and his features rigid. The chilly aura emanating from him reminded her that he was angry. Wen Ran’s delicate fingers tightly grip her bag strap, ruminating in her mind before finally looking up at his perfect, cold profile, starting a conversation: “Weren’t you on a business trip? Why did you come back all of a sudden?” Mo Xiuchen’s wide palm held the steering wheel firmly; his dark eyes glanced at the rearview mirror, replying coldly: “I sent someone else instead.” His thin lips tightened, and he couldn’t help but wonder: If he hadn’t returned, would she have gotten into Mo Zixuan’s car?
