The Empress have sent people to demonstrate, and Lilith Jin can't sit still.
She pouted and begged Ethan Gu to let her go out to watch the commotion.
Before reaching the gate, they heard a eunuch shouting, "The young master has misunderstood. I am here on behalf of Empress to pay respects to Miss Gu. After seeing Miss Gu, I will report back to Empress!"
Lilith Jin looked at Ethan Gu with a puzzled look in her eyes. "Father, is this the Empress's intention?"
Ethan Gu, originally with a stern expression, smiled when he heard his daughter's words.
"Of course not," Ethan Gu replied.
When they were originally betrothed, the Empress and the Crown Prince both thought that as long as they spoke, it was a done deal.
They didn't think that the Gu family would refuse this marriage, nor did they consider that His Majesty would have to consider whether his subjects would accept the "blessing" of a royal marriage.
In reality, the Gu family had no interest in this marriage at all.
What His Majesty valued more was the position of the Crown Princess.
Hearing this, Lilith Jin said with malicious glee, "If His Majesty finds out, will the Empress be punished?"
Ethan Gu gave Lilith Jin a meaningful look.
Lilith Jin deliberately continued, "The Crown Prince publicly broke off the engagement with me for a commoner girl. It's not an insult to me; it's a slap in the face of the Prime Minister and the Crown Princess. I couldn't bear this humiliation and fell ill..."
"Lilith Jin!" Ethan Gu gently reprimanded.
This child had been spoiled too much; how could she speak so recklessly?

Seeing that Ethan Gu was not really angry, Lilith Jin quickly held his arm and tried to soothe him. "Father, it's just childish talk!"

Ethan Gu stared at Lilith Jin for a moment and then shook his head, chuckling.
This was his precious daughter, clever, composed, and not afraid to love or hate!
Rumors in the capital said that Miss Gu was deeply in love with the Crown Prince and would surely cling to him even after the breakup.
Some even said that Miss Gu was just throwing a tantrum now and that in the end, even if she entered the Eastern Palace as a concubine, she would agree to it.
It was simply absurd!
A concubine in the Eastern Palace was still a concubine; his daughter would never be a concubine for anyone.
Understanding Lilith Jin's plan, Ethan Gu said with a smile, "Father knows what to do now."
"In that case, Father should hurry and go to the palace!" Lilith Jin urged him. "Remember to look weary and haggard, or should I apply some rouge to your eyes?"
Ethan Gu patted her head and scolded, "Don't be naughty. Everyone in the capital knows that I, Ethan Gu, have only one precious daughter like you. How could I leave your side at a time like this? Let someone take my name card to the royal physician's office."
So many pairs of eyes were fixed on the Eastern Palace now.
The news of the Gu family inviting a royal physician would spread to the ears of the other palaces in no time.
By then, there would be no need for him to take action; someone would come forward to accuse the Eastern Palace.
