chapter 5 Are you back after all?

Andrew Li stared at her coldly for a few seconds.
Olivia Fu pinched her palm discreetly, afraid of revealing any flaws.
"It's best if it's as you said," Andrew Li finally withdrew his gaze and turned to look at Barry Lu, who was standing nearby. "Any news from the police?"
Barry Lu's tone was heavy as he replied, "Not yet."
After speaking, he glanced cautiously at Andrew Li and said with concern, "Nora, could she have been abducted?"
The Nora was the apple of their master's eye and held a prestigious position in the Li family. Over the years, she had been targeted by many. There had even been a close call with a kidnapping attempt.
Now, they couldn't find her anywhere, and there was no news from the police either, so Barry Lu had to consider the possibility of abduction.
Hearing this, Andrew Li's eyes darkened abruptly, and he spoke sternly, "Increase the manpower, expand the search area. We must find her today!"
"Yes!" Barry Lu quickly responded, feeling the almost tangible anger emanating from their master.
Just as he was about to leave, Andrew Li's phone rang.
He wasn't in the mood to answer the call right now, so he impatiently took out his phone. However, when he saw that it was an unknown number, he hesitated. Thinking of Barry Lu's earlier words, Andrew Li's veins jumped, and his expression turned cold.
The voice on the other end of the line was soft, and a woman said, "Hello."
Upon hearing this voice, Andrew Li's eyes narrowed slightly, and a trace of suspicion flashed in his eyes.
This voice... was almost identical to that woman's!
The figure he had seen at the airport this afternoon flashed in his mind.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" Ja Jiang asked after not receiving a response for a while.
Andrew Li slowly collected his thoughts and replied briefly, "Yes."
A single syllable was clearly not enough for Ja Jiang to discern anything.
Relieved that someone had answered, Ja Jiang continued, "Hello, it's like this. I found a little girl, and this phone was given to me by her. You must be her father, right? Do you have time now to come and pick her up?"
The woman's voice rang clearly in Andrew Li's ears, and the more she said, the colder his gaze became.
When her voice finally trailed off, there was a layer of frost in the man's eyes.
It was indeed her!
Even after so many years, he would never mistake that voice!

Andrew Li ground his teeth fiercely and lowered his voice as he asked, "Where are you?"
Ja Jiang subconsciously answered, "We're at Zui Xian Ju. We're waiting here with her. Could you come directly to the restaurant to pick her up when you arrive?"
"Alright, I'll be there soon."
With that, Andrew Li hung up the phone and instructed Barry Lu, "Prepare the car. We're going to Zui Xian Ju."
Barry Lu didn't know where their master's sudden anger had come from, but he quickly complied.
Looking at the darkened screen of her phone, Ja Jiang inexplicably felt a tightness in her chest.
The man's voice just now had sounded somewhat hoarse.

"Are you hungry?" Ava Xi asked. "We've been waiting outside for a long time. I'm starving. Let's go in and eat. When the person arrives, we can send the little girl out."
Ja Jiang smiled at her and said, "Alright, let's go in first."
Then, she squatted down, looked into the little girl's eyes, and asked for her opinion, "Are you hungry? Would you like Auntie to take you inside to eat something? Your daddy should be on his way now, and when he arrives, Auntie will bring you out. Is that okay?"
The little girl looked into her eyes for a few seconds, her big eyes shimmering with hesitation.
"If you don't want to, Auntie can wait here with you," Ja Jiang reassured her patiently.
Hearing this, both Hale and Harlan, who were also hungry, looked expectantly at their little sister.
The little girl bit her lip, took two steps toward Ja Jiang, and reached out to grab her sleeve, nodding her head.
"No need to force her," Ja Jiang understood her meaning and felt a warmth in her heart.
The little girl shook her head again.
Seeing this, Ja Jiang smiled and gently touched her head, holding the little girl's hand that was resting on her sleeve. Then she stood up and led her towards the restaurant.
Ava Xi held Hale and Harlan's hands as they followed behind. Seeing the little girl obediently staying close to her best friend, Ava Xi couldn't help but tease, "This little girl, she was wary of us just a moment ago, but suddenly she's getting close to you."
After saying that, she sighed, "In this world, good-looking people really have an advantage. They can easily get along with anyone, regardless of age or gender."
Ja Jiang was teased by her best friend, but she just smiled and held the little girl's soft hand a little tighter, not responding to Ava Xi's comment.
