chapter 5 Hurry up and give me a grandson

by Muneera 16:46,Nov 14,2023
Although the little girl had resumed breathing, she had not woken up yet, her eyes still tightly closed.
"Young friend, why hasn't my granddaughter woken up yet?" Tab asked somewhat anxiously.
"Brain hypoxia, she'll be fine in a bit." Kaden comforted Mr. Watkins, then turned to Baqir and asked, "Young man, this child has been oxygen-deprived for a long time, is there any damage to her brain?"
"I have just checked her; there is absolutely no damage, thanks to your hospital's world-leading oxygen equipment. If it were another hospital, it might have been a different story," Baqir replied.
Upon hearing this, the faces of the other internal medicine doctors showed a hint of pride. Indeed, some of the equipment in their hospital was top-notch, both domestically and internationally.
Kaden, who was well versed in his hospital's equipment, knew that it wouldn't cause brain damage to the little girl during that short period. His question was a deliberate probe to test Baqir.
Baqir's answer slightly surprised him. Although traditional Chinese medicine was declining, its profoundness was something that Western medicine couldn't match.
Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes "observation, listening, questioning, and pulse-taking." Excellent Chinese medicine experts don't need to rely on instruments; just observing the energy can reveal the patient's condition. Baqir's ability to discern the girl's condition and conclude that her brain was undamaged showed that his medical skills were highly advanced.
"I will use a unique method to root out this child's illness. Please step back for a moment."
Although the child was now better, the dark energy within her had not been expelled. Baqir was worried about frightening the others, so he asked them to leave first. After all, ghosts and spirits are mysterious entities to most people in this world.
After everyone left, Baqir was about to start when the dark energy from the girl's body suddenly rushed out, flying rapidly towards the window.
Trying to escape?
Baqir sneered, recited the Resurrection Technique, and clutched the red string taken from Granada's body. Pointing towards the direction of the fleeing dark energy, it immediately let out a shrill scream and was sucked into the peach pit on the red string.
Baqir tied the red string around his wrist, thankful for Granada's red string. Otherwise, with his current cultivation, it would have been somewhat difficult to deal with this filthy thing.
"You can come in now!"
Baqir called out to those outside, then walked over to the little girl and removed the needles. He pressed on her Baihui, Fengchi, and other head acupoints, and the little girl slowly woke up.
Seeing the clarity returning to the little girl's eyes, Baqir smiled with relief.
Ola and his wife, along with Tab, came in and embraced the child, crying uncontrollably. They had almost lost the only bloodline of the Watkins family.
"Young friend, will my granddaughter relapse in the future?" Tab, recovering from his excitement, asked with concern.
"It's been completely cured. She won't relapse, but be more attentive to her in the future. She has a weak constitution and should avoid yin environments. Try not to take her to graveyards or other places with heavy yin energy," Baqir advised.
"Words cannot express my gratitude, young friend. If you need anything in the future, I, Tab Watkins, will spare no effort!" Tab said with full gratitude.
"It was just a small effort. You're too kind," Baqir responded modestly.
"Brother Baqir, I was blind to not recognize your talent earlier. Please don't take offense. I will definitely repay your great kindness," Ola, hugging his wife and daughter, said with moist eyes.
Hearing the word 'sister-in-law', Baqir smiled awkwardly and glanced at Granada, who still had a cold expression and was frowning at him.
"Young man, could you tell us about the specific condition of this child?" Kaden, seeing that the child was safe, was immediately interested in her condition.
"Yes, young miracle doctor, please explain to us."
"Indeed, give us a lesson too."
Seeing Kaden speaking up, the other internal medicine doctors also became curious and echoed his request.
"You overpraise me. My ability to discern this child's condition was merely luck," Baqir said modestly. "Actually, her condition was not complicated. The main cause was lung heat due to fever."
"I noticed that during my examination, but how could mere lung heat lead to such severe symptoms?" Kaden wondered.
"When I was at the clinic, I mentioned that the child had a hidden ailment. If I'm not mistaken, she previously suffered from liver poisoning," Baqir turned to Ola and his wife.
Ola quickly nodded, saying, "Yes, yes, my daughter had toxic hepatitis half a year ago, but it's been cured."
Baqir nodded, "Indeed, but some toxins remained. Coupled with prolonged fever causing heart fire to rise, these two factors turned a simple case of lung heat into a life-threatening illness."
What Baqir explained were the main causes of the illness. However, it wasn't actually that severe. The main issue was the dark energy exploiting the illness, which nearly endangered the little girl's life.
After hearing his analysis, the doctors nodded in agreement. Kaden admired his skill; being able to diagnose a past hidden ailment without any tests was something he couldn't do.
Granada listened to his coherent explanation, somewhat astonished. However, she still looked down on him, knowing in her heart that he had just been lucky this time.
When Baqir left the hospital, Kaden specifically followed him out, handing him a business card and mentioning that if he was interested in working at Hospital of Queanmond City, he could contact him.
Holding the business card, Baqir asked, "Are you interested in working here? Do you want to…"
"I don't need you to worry about my affairs. What I want, I'll strive for on my own," Granada coldly interrupted him before he could finish.
Granada was annoyed. She had always been the one helping this useless guy, and never needed his help.
Actually, Granada's dream had always been to work at Hospital of Queanmond City, but the position of attending physician there was not easy to secure. She had failed twice already, but believed she would succeed one day.
"Your bracelet fell off, and I picked it up. Can you give it to me? I hope to keep something of yours with me." Baqir shook the red string in his hand.
"Whatever." Granada Jackson said coldly.
After returning to the Hoene Clinic, Guylan had already gathered all the doctors and nurses at the entrance. He had already called Mr. Watkins on the phone and understood the whole situation.
As Baqir got out of the car, Guylan led the team to greet him. Then, rushing forward, he grasped Baqir's hand, "Baqir, our clinic really owes you a lot this time. Without you, I guess we would have had to close for restructuring."
"Just a fluke." Granada said coldly, then turned and entered the clinic.
Guylan chuckled awkwardly. He knew very well what Laszlo was capable of. Although this event puzzled him, it was Laszlo who had helped the clinic, so he was still grateful to him.
Then, the vehicle from the Health Bureau returned, led again by Powa.
Guylan immediately panicked and hurried forward, "Director Dabney, hasn't the matter already been resolved?"
Powa didn't pay him any attention and quickly walked up to Baqir, politely saying, "Brother Harris, I hope you won't take offense at what happened earlier."
Initially, Powa looked down on Baqir, but after witnessing him cure his niece's illness and analyzing the condition with expertise, he immediately saw Baqir in a new light.
"Director Dabney, you're too polite." Baqir didn't take it to heart, especially since his wife worked under his administration.
"I won't lie to you, I've come to ask you to look at my condition." Powa glanced around a bit apprehensively.
Baqir was slightly surprised. As the deputy director of the Health Bureau, a command from him would have doctors throughout Queanmond City vying to treat him. But upon a closer look, Baqir immediately identified his symptoms and couldn't help but smile. The condition was quite common, but indeed somewhat difficult to treat.
"Director Dabney, you must have often felt pain in your waist and knees, cold limbs, and a fear of cold recently, and you get tired easily." Baqir smiled. His condition, frankly, was kidney deficiency.
"Yes, yes, yes, I have seen many doctors and taken many medicines in the past two years, but to no avail." Powa eagerly said. For a man, not being able to perform can be excruciating.
"No worries, I'll write you a prescription. Take it every day, one dose daily, divided into two servings in the morning and evening. After half a month, there will be significant improvement. However, remember, no smoking or drinking while taking the medicine." Baqir went to the clinic to get paper and pen and wrote a prescription for him.
"Thank you so much, Brother Harris. If there's anything you need in the future, just let me know." Powa took the prescription, expressing his deep gratitude before leaving.
Actually, he was somewhat doubtful when he arrived, but after Baqir accurately described his condition, he no longer doubted Baqir's medical skills.
"Brother Harris, I didn't expect you to establish a connection with Director Dabney so quickly. Our clinic will have to rely on you to put in a good word for us in the future." Guylan promptly approached, even changing how he addressed him.
He didn't care how Baqir had convinced Powa, as long as it was profitable.
"Of course, I also hope Director Sandford will take good care of Granada in the future." Baqir smiled.
"No problem, I'll give Director Jackson a raise tomorrow!" Guylan promised, patting his chest.
For the rest of the day, Baqir continued to idle in the clinic, but the doctors and nurses' attitude towards him had changed from before, becoming much friendlier, and they even ordered lunch and dinner for him.
When Granada got off work, it was already past nine in the evening. The thought of meeting his in-laws soon made Baqir somewhat nervous. After all, this was the first time he was meeting a partner's parents.
Granada's family lived in a mid-to-high-end residential area in Queanmond City. The area had a high greenery rate and was very quiet.
The quieter the environment, the more intense Baqir's heartbeat became. It felt like a dream. Was it really okay to go home with a woman he had only known for a day?
"Get out of the car!"
Seeing Baqir dazed in the car, Granada coldly scolded him. Baqir hurriedly got out of the car and followed her upstairs.
Inside the house, a middle-aged couple was sitting on the sofa watching TV. The woman had curly hair and wore elegant clothes, looking somewhat wealthy, while the man was somewhat thin, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, and looked gentle and refined.
These two were Granada's parents, Mace Jackson and Nara Lee, both working in government offices, one a division-level official and the other a department-level official. Stable and dignified, and thanks to several properties bought in earlier years, they barely belonged to the middle class.
Seeing their daughter and Baqir enter, Nara couldn't help but roll her eyes at Baqir, regretting forcing her daughter to marry him two years ago. It was a momentary folly that had pushed her daughter into a pit.
As her husband had said, they should never have adopted this useless person from the orphanage, which ruined their daughter's life.
"Mom, Dad..." Baqir greeted the middle-aged couple somewhat awkwardly, but they didn't even look at him.
Baqir guessed right; this Laszlo didn't have much status in front of his in-laws.
"Granada, you must be exhausted after a day's work. I've prepared a bath for you. Go and have a hot bath." Nara went forward to hang up her daughter's bag, then turned to Baqir and said unkindly, "Later, you help your dad polish his shoes and mop the floor."
"..." Baqir was internally confused. Such a stark difference in treatment. After all, he had just been discharged from the hospital today.
"Mom, he just got out of the hospital today. Let him rest. I'll do it later." Granada suddenly spoke up for him.
Nara was taken aback. In her memory, her daughter had never spoken up for this useless man. Was the sun rising from the west today? Even Mace Jackson, who was silently watching TV, couldn't help but look up at his daughter.
"I'll do the heavy work." Baqir smiled and then walked inside.
"Where are you going? The guest bathroom is over there. Hey, did you get knocked silly? Clumsy." Nara couldn't help but complain.
"Granada, I just changed your mattress. It's very soft. Now that Laszlo is awake, you two should hurry up and give me a grandchild." Nara whispered to Granada, but Baqir heard every word.
"Clang!"
Baqir, carrying a basin of water, almost fell to the ground with it.
