There were three floors in the villa. The living room on the second floor was empty. Looking up from the living room on the first floor, one could directly see the ceiling of the third floor. A huge and complex crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling of the third floor to where the second floor was, illuminating the whole villa.
The spiral escalator made of precious mahogany extended from the first floor to the third floor, circling for one and a half round along the way. Each step was no more than a fist high. Even and elderly person and a child would be able to basically walk on it like on level ground. It looked extremely luxurious.
This was not wall. The entire villa, from its structure to how it was decorated, to its furnishing, all exuded a luxurious and exquisite ambience.
Lavish but not crass, it was not glittering with gold. It was luxurious yet subdued.
After Cora briefly introduced the layout of the villa, she asked in a cautious tone, "My Lord, are you satisfied with the living environment here?"
Humphrey waved his hand and said quietly, "Even if a place is huge and luxurious, one only needs a small area to sleep at night. For me, whether the place to live is good or bad, it's just a place to put up in. It only needs to be clean and hygienic."
As he spoke, he took off his windbreaker, and Cora immediately stretched out her hands to receive the windbreaker over solemnly.
It was as if this was not just a piece of clothing, but an important national treasure!
Glancing at Jini and Selena who were standing by the side, Humphrey said, "Sister-in-law, take Selena to the third floor to rest. From now on, the entire third floor will be a private area for you and and your daughter. No one will be able to set foot in easily. Feel free to live here."
Jini nodded, but hesitated to speak, looking somewhat worried.
Humphrey seemed to have guessed Jini's thoughts, and said with a smile, "Don't worry, in Lymelathe City, even if I had caused serious trouble, no one would be able to do anything to you. You may go and sleep in peace."
Jini could only agree, and then she led Selena away.
Cora slowly hung Humphrey's windbreaker on the hanger, and then helped Jini take her luggage to the third floor.
Humphrey, on the other hand, sat on the sofa, and waited quietly.
After a while, Cora returned to the first floor, and stood side by side with Claude in front of Humphrey.
Humphrey raised his eyes slightly, glanced at the two of them, and slowly asked, "How long will it take for the compilation of everyone's guilt to be completed?"
Cora bowed and replied, "It's almost done. It'll take, at most, seven days for us to finish collecting all the evidence of every sinner who played a part in destroying the Herbert family."
Humphrey nodded slightly and asked, "How is the acquisition of Ten Mile Street progressing?"
Claude respectfully replied, "Tomorrow morning, the final negotiation and signing process will take place. If nothing goes wrong, it is in fact 100% certain. Mr. Westley wants me to ask you, when the signing takes place tomorrow, would you be present in person to sign, or should he sign it for you?"
Humphrey replied quietly, "Let him sign on my behalf. I will not show up for this matter. Tell him not to reveal my existence. He is the only spokesperson for this matter.
In addition, when the acquisition of the Ten Mile Street is completed, ask him to find another good piece of land for me."
"Yes!" Claude was a little curious about what Humphrey wanted the land for, but he did not ask more questions; he bowed in agreement.
"Alright, let's go and rest. I have slapped so many people today, I guess some people can't wait to take revenge on me. I'd like to see what methods they have. Get the warriors to gather the intelligence, and give me a summary tomorrow morning," Humphrey said with a playful smile on his lips.
What he had done today was just the beginning. The four major families were all rich and wealthy, but if they had participated in the destruction of the Herbert family the year before, then they should not expect to have a good end!
The game of revenge had just begun!
Cora and Claude looked at each other, and saw a hint of coldness in each other's eyes.
Although Humphrey did not explain everything in detail, as the guardians of the God of War of The North, the two of them had already made many arrangements in secret.
Those who had been slapped, if they chose to swallow their anger, they would survive a few more days. But, if they could not wait and jumped out, they would definitely be struck by thunder!
That night, Jini tossed and turned, and woke up twice from her sleep. She dreamed of Nelson Dunn with his broken limbs and his heart dug out. Eventually, she could not go back to her sleep at all.
At 4:30 in the morning, after covering the soundly asleep Selena with a quilt, Jini came to the window on the third floor. She was surprised to find Humphrey, accompanied by Cora and Claude, on their way out of the villa, all in sports attires. They were going for a morning run on the road outside.
The three of them were in one single file, and the distance between them seemed to have been measured. They were exactly two meters apart.
Their running speed was not slow, but they all appeared to be extremely relaxed Their breathing was steady, and their pace was surprisingly consistent. It was pleasant to watch them.
At this time, in front of the villa nearby, two figures, an old man and a young person, were standing under a big tree, practicing boxing!
The younger one, in sports attire, was Felicia Kersey. Her long hair was tied up in a ponytail, and she wore a pink band on her forehead. Although she was in loose-fitting sports attire, the curvy outline of her slender figure could be seen as she boxed and kicked.
The old man had grey hair, and the wrinkles on his face were like an old tree bark, with one layer folded upon another. He appeared to be at least seventy years old, but his back was straight, and he was full of energy.
"Fighting Boxing's emphasis is on strength and power. This punch is too weak. This kick will not work either. Felicia, concentrate on practicing boxing, what are you looking at?" After the old man said a few words, he realised that his granddaughter's boxing was getting worse because she had unconsciously become distracted.
Following her granddaughter's gaze, he looked up and saw Humphrey, with Claude and Cora, running from the front.
Felicia stopped what she was doing and stared directly at Humphrey, with a smitten smile on her face, and gasped, "Wow, he got up so early! He is so handsome when he runs!"
Speechless, the old man shook his head. He was rather surprised as this was the first time he had seen his granddaughter acting like she was smitten. In the past, she had always been upfront with those suitors who came with flattery, about her dislike for them.
Seeing that his granddaughter had no intention of practising boxing at all, he did not scold her. He got in position himself, and started to threw punches.
His punches were not of the same level as Felicia's at all. The wind in his fists whistled. There was amazing power in the punches, and they were full of killing intent.
Humphrey's attention was caught by the sound of the punches. He looked over, and immediately frowned, "Fighting Boxing?"
Claude took a look and said, "He is practicing the version of the Fighting Boxing which had not been improved by you."
Cora frowned and said, "The Fighting Boxing which had not been improved by you, while extremely powerful, is harmful to the practitioner's health. This old man must have been practicing this boxing for a long time. Look, his skeleton has become somewhat deformed. "
Humphrey stepped out and said, "You guys, carry on with your morning exercise, I'll go have a chat with this old man, and teach him the improved version of Fighting Boxing."
Claude and Cora responded, and continued their run in a straight file, while Humphrey strode towards Felicia and the old man.
Felicia's little cherry mouth gradually opened wide, and her heartbeat suddenly began to accelerate.
"He's coming over! He's actually coming over! What should I do! What should I do!"
When the old man heard his granddaughter talking to herself, he frowned, and was speechless. He pretended not the have heard anything, and started boxing.
