The only moment it has an effect is the times when she gets thoughts of her not looking similar to her father. Which eventually had caused multiple concerns in her about the relationship between her and Frederick, which she just kept to herself, always. But anyway, she wasn't like her father by appearance, but by her persona, she was for sure like her, and she was proud.
She was proud of the fact that she was born here. She was proud of the fact that Frederick's personality had an impact on her. She was proud to be the daughter of such a kind and gentle man as Frederick Barnes.
"Azura Barnes, are you coming down or do I have to come back up again?" Azura hears her dad yelling from downstairs.
"Just a moment, Dad. Huh… Alright. Just another day to stay away from anyone who comes in the way."
______
After the very frightening, frustrating yet fine and fresh morning with her dad, Azura was now finally at the university in her local town. With her usual unnoticeable to invisible self. Well, not invisible
Since she was, of course,e right there in front of everyone's sight.
Though it was the people who chose not to pay attention to Azura, which was actually what Azura wanted. The other students usually decided not to be with Azura as she was just so silent, unpopular, and
boring according to other girls and guys. While the girls found her to be bland like an old woman with no beauty, the guys found her to be unattractive, unknown, and with no personality.
Just the surprising thing was, they concluded all these remarks without even getting to know her, or could even say, without even seeing her properly.
Yes, when it was stated that Azura was somewhat not visible to them, it indeed was true. Azura had never really fully exposed her bleached blonde beauty to anyone. Which is why many ladies in the college weren't aware of the fact that Azura could surpass them just by the sight of her eyes, let alone her entire appearance.
But that was just for the part of appearance. If one talks about strength, spirit, and confidence, Azura was for sure far behind. Although she was Frederick's daughter, who was fearless of anything and everything, she happened to be this way of hers. And this was something that she didn't like. Maybe even hated the fact that she was just a coward.
"Oh my god!" A girl almost screams through the hallway to her squad. And because of the echo of the area, it felt as if the lady had screamed her heart out to the almighty for some unknown reason. And despite Azura's unwillingness to overhear any of the things the latter was saying, she could eavesdrop on their conversation, especially when they were screaming in intense enthusiasm.
One of the girls from the previous girls' friend circle turns around her while raising her eyebrow and questioning, "Whoa, whoa. Girl, calm down. The god won't even bother listening to you if you cry high like
this."
"Aww, Cindy. You'll cry even harder when you get to know what I'm here to tell you." The previous girl suggests to her friend, Cindy, to which Cindy just shakes her head, not looking interested in what her friend is about to tell. But that's only until she hears it. "Okay, so there's this one transferee here in our college who looks exactly like those unrealistic and unbelievably handsome dudes from those werewolf fantasy fiction!"
Wow, okay. A werewolf? Azura's nightmares weren't enough, and now people like wolves were approaching her in real life. Azura better stay away from anyone whom these young ladies have been talking
about. Besides, she just stays far, far away from anyone or everyone literally. So this shouldn't change anything at all.
Azura checks the time on the hallway clock and realizes that the class was supposed to have begun already. And so she just leaves for the class, along with leaving this unwanted overhearing.
"What? You must be kidding or just still living in fiction rather than reality or something."
"Girls!" The shouting of professor takes everyone's attention as they turn toward him. "It's past ten already, and you still haven't been in your batches? Even the boys now behave well and responsibly with their schedules. Seems like you ladies are looking for the scholar scolding back, huh?"
The group of young bachelorettes went quiet, and it indeed looked as if they were going through some primary school scolding. The professor then just sighs while adding verbally, "Can't believe I'm saying
this to grown college students. In your class, right now!" And not even for a moment, all the students emptied the hallway area as they went for their batches.
The professor exhales in stress at the fact that these university students could still be the scholar guys or even kindergarteners at times. Because of which the professors even had to be babysitters
eventually.
And honestly, all of them low-key enjoyed this fact. But of course, no one was going to show it by their actions.
Just hope it wouldn't go beyond its limits and affect the result of any students, including the transferees. Oh,h right, the transferees. Was it being said that one of the transferred students resembled a husky?
Or a wolf? Or a werewolf? If that was even a thing.
______
"Alright, class, today we'll begin with the assignments that were supposed to be submitted today. Yeah, they were due by today, which means it's the deadline. And if any of you fail to list them, you'll have a supplement for your whole semester. Is that noted?"
A session of sighing and exhalation of frustration comes along the large room as the students begin trying to find if they had brought their projects, from which most of them just settled for anything presentable.
The slightly chaotic and clumsy act of the others made Azura chuckle to herself as she completed her assignment.
She might not be as active, confident, and intelligent a,s others, but she was attentive and responsible enough to know the deadlines and follow the guidelines.
"Oh, had, before we go any further…" The professor adds up while taking the students' attention. "I'd like to welcome our new student who has just been listed for this semester with us. Everyone, please welcome Mr. Theo Lance!"
The moment the name was called, a fine and fierce-looking young man appeared on the scene, who was supposed to be the owner of the said name.
Following the characteristics given by the other girls that Azura overheard in the hallway, this man could be the perfect and probably the only figure Azura could think of.
Furry and ferocious yet settled and silky hair. In a whitish grey shade, which was a little lower than his ears, almost reaching his shoulders. His eyes shimmered the same as his hair, just with a gloss. The
gloss he also had on his lips. His skin was also just as pale, but not much more than Azura herself.
But that could probably be because of his physique. If one were supposed to address the said man in words, it could probably be… A wolf.
"Huhh…" Azura felt herself struggling to breathe while her body seemed to lose control. Which, however, came back in a blink when the guy blinked at her. Her face automatically shifted to any side but his.
"My goodness… You were right, Leanne. This guy looks like my type and the only one I'd want. Which is why you need to move out."
"I'm sorry, Cindy?"
"You heard me, Li. Now, would you please be a good friend and move away?" Not her using the word 'friend' with all those words.
To be precise, Leanne did expect her friend to act overly exaggerated and desperate for this young man and would probably just slide her out of the way to make her way to him, judging her audacity of being a bad person, which she, without any doubt, for sure was, but this…
This was just beyond expectations. Beyond acceptance and most probably, beyond toleration, a sane person would have no other way but to break away from Cindy. But the question was, was
Leanne sane?
"No."
Cindy scrunches her nose in dissatisfaction. "What do you mean by no? This is the time your bestie is finally going to get her true love, and you're acting cruelly to her?
"Cruelly? Cindy, I admit that this dude is hot and all that. Even I was the one to tell you about him so that you could have your grab ahead of others. And now you're shooing me away? Doing this to
your long-time friend for a boy who doesn't even know you? You just called me your bestie!"
The latter sighs before she takes a breath and speaks again. "Well, yes. I just called you my bestie. So, be a good one. If you decide to stick in between, he'll never get to know how wonderful I am.
Besides, one way or another, you know you gotta back off, so why even waste time and energy in this pointless argument?"
Now it was Leanne's turn to sigh. Though she did seem to be trying to say something, but instead, all she could release was a sigh because, right, one way or another, she had to obey her best friend.
"Alright. But, where do I sit then?"
"Hmm… Yes, there, right next to Azura. She's always just sitting alone, so make use of her. Now, quick,k before the professor asks Theo to sit with her!" Cindy motions in a rush as Leanne also follows the
summit and takes a seat next to Azura.
Azura flinches at the sudden contact. "Don't worry, it's just me," Leanne assures her, but she just lowers her face and averts her eyes, which makes Leanne hes.
"So, Mr. Lance. Could you please introduce yourself a little to your batch? I'm pretty sure that your batchmates would love to know a little about you."
Theo nods to the professor's request as he steps forward and into the center of the area. Soon, he begins his take. "Good day, everyone. My name is Theo Lance. I'm here to join you for the semester of
history and arts. And, I'm from the lands of Aurelius."
