Chapter 9: KILL HER

Words : 1163 Updated : Jul 1st, 2025
Harlow couldn't believe how everything had turned out. She would never kill her son, she would never kill Alex, what are they talking about? "We all know Harlow is a psychopath. But Harlow, how could you kill your son? How could you be so heartless?" Claudia asked before everyone. "I didn't kill my son. Why would I do that? There were test results and medical reports showing Alex was sick for months, but no one believed me. Everyone called me a liar." Harlow yelled at her, trying to defend herself. It was annoying that no one looked at her normally again. Everyone looked at her like a madwoman, like they didn't believe a word she said. "This is the report from the hospital about Alex for the last six months. After your claim, I asked the doctor to deliver Alex's files, and according to it. Alex was perfectly fine, you're the one who kept forcing them to diagnose him with heart disease and kill him!!" Claudia passed the paper to Garth, who read through the documents with wide eyes. "YOU CRAZY BITCH!!" *SLAP* *SLAP* *SLAP* The endless slaps didn't stop on Harlow's face. The assaults were just too much for her. Why would she lie about her son? Why would she kill her son? Who would save her from the hands of these people? "I didn't kill my son. Please, Alex was ill. I have proof, I have all the evidence right here." Harlow struggled to explain to everyone. For months, because she desperately tried to keep Alanis and her marriage alive, she did things that made everyone call her a madwoman. Right now, she regrets doing all of that. She wasn't mad. She would never harm her son. "We gave you everything, Harlow, but your greed and jealousy for Claudia couldn't make you happy. You're the most despicable woman on earth." Lia yelled at her sister-in-law. Harlow rushed towards their table, where she had kept Alex's medical reports. Even till this morning, she had seen them just dancing on the table. She had left them there for a reason because she knew somehow Claudia would try to do something stupid again. Now she knows her step sister is the reason for everything that was happening, she wanted to be two steps ahead of her. "You better provide evidence and proof of your claims today. Else, you're a dead woman." George barked at her. He had already picked up a large stick at a corner, ready to hit her with it. Everything happening felt like a dream to Harlow. They should be crying for Alex and blaming Alanis for neglecting his responsibilities as a father rather than trying to crucify her. She's the one in pain. She's the mother who just lost not one, but two children. She hasn't even recovered from the accident. Couldn't they see the bruises and bandages on her skin? And above all, she was pregnant... Harlow moved through the table, but for some reason, all of the medical files and reports were missing. How is it possible? She had kept them here herself. She placed them here for a reason. "See, I told you, she's a liar." Claudia accused. "YOU BITCH!!" George raised the stick to hit her when a strong arm held it. Everyone turned to the hands to see one of the Hamilton bodyguards holding the stick. "What's going on here?" The weak voice of an old woman rang in the air as she stepped from behind the large man. Eldest Miss Hamilton had overheard the commotion from her Villa and she had to rush down immediately. She had also heard the news about her great-grandson's death. She knew this would happen. "Stay out of this, Grandma, this is not your business," Gartha said to the old, weak woman. Alex was her favorite great-grandchild; unfortunately, he met his end. The child reminded her so much of Alanis, it is sad that the rascal has killed his son out of negligence. "How dare you try to beat a mourning mother?" She raised her voice. Eldest Hamilton wasn't just the eldest in the family, but she was in charge of the family. Everyone knew that to be in her good graces meant to benefit greatly from the Hamilton family. It is quite unfortunate, Harlow, even if hated by everyone in the family, was her favorite person. She had called Alanis over, but she had no idea why he hadn't yet arrived. The elderly woman, now old and sick, had to rush over to help her granddaughter-in-law. Harlow didn't know whether to kiss the elderly woman or hug her for saving her life today. Her face was already swollen and red from all of the assaults. George and all of these people were more than willing to kill her. "What are you talking ab, Gra?DMA, She killed Alex." George barked. "Says who?" The old woman yelled back at them. "The doctor's reports are here, Grandma...' "How funny you all are acting like you cared about the little boy while he was alive." Grandma Hamilton scolded them in disgust. They truly have no shame. "No matter what, great grandma, Alex is a member of the family, and this mad woman over here killed him," Lia said. "And what proof do you have of that?" Elder Hamilton asked. "I know Alex had heart complications for a while. His surgery was scheduled days ago. If you all cared about him, you would have known all of these." She barked at them. She would never be alive to see them harm innocent Harlow. Harlow often told her everything. Even if she could barely remember a lot, she recalled a few things. Grandma Hamilton began to cry. Her baby Alex, whatever shall she do now? Who would make her laugh again? "What are we supposed to do with this information, mother?" Lia suddenly turned to her mother. "Are we going to sit here and listen to the words of a woman diagnosed with dementia or Claud, who brought proof with her? We're living with a murderer who just murdered Alex, a member of the family." Lia continued. "I'm not lying, I would never kill my son." Harlow tried to defend herself. "T,n wh, ere is the proof of it? Because the report here says Alex was never ill." Georg asked this time, turning impatient. "Don't think the words of grandma would save you, today, Harlow. She cannot save you this time." Lia said. "You, take grandma back to her Villa, she has no idea what she's talking about. She needs rest." Gratha ordered the guard who had saved Harlow before to take the old, weak lady back to her Villa. Now Harlow was left alone with the beast, ready to devour her completely.
