After the nurses helped me take a shower and changed my clothes, Gruvv always came to my room when he was on his day off to help me dry my hair and brush it, or just stay there to read some books.
"Your hair is so beautiful, how long have you left it this long?" He asked me one morning while brushing my hair. He did it gently.
"I never cut it since I was a kid, usually my mom cut only a certain part of it," I replied, trying to explain, even though maybe he wasn't so interested in the details.
"Does the Rudapriya family have heredity to ash-colored hair like this? Your father has the same color."
I blinked and nodded slowly.
"Really? So, what color is your mom's hair?"
That question makes me think of my mother. In my memory, my mom, who was still so healthy, had pale white skin like mine. Her nose is small and high, the lips are thin and pi,nk with a pointed chin. She's a beautiful Dominant Omega I've ever seen.
Since I was a kid, I've always been told I look like my mobut m, I didn't see anything in common before. But after I grew up, I could see my mom in my place.
"Mom has blond hair., I said, answering his question, that Gruvv still helps me brush my hair.
"Really? Then she must be so beautiful."
I smiled slightly, "Right, she's so beautiful. People say I look like my mother."
When I said that, Gruvv suddenly changed places. From behind me, he sat right in front of me, his hand fixedly. I'm a little bit surprised by what he did.
He tilted his head to the side as he looked like he was thinking of something.
"In that case, your mother must be super beautiful! Because you look so pretty as well." He said with a chuckle, his canines visible when he smiled broadly. "The Dhurudatta family has alack hair genes, we are not like other elites who have their uniqueness. I think our ancestors were just ordinary people."
I chuckled hearing that. This joke is the funny one.
He finished his job brushing my long hair; his touch was so soft, even though he had a big, muscular body.
Like most Alphas, Gruvv's stature is tall and large with plastered muscles. He has a well-defined jaw, and his hair is so neat. If he doesn't wear gel, his face looks much younger.
When I asked him how old he was, it turned out that we were quite far apart. Gruvv was nine years older, his eyes were like those of a cat, and his face had a slightly oriental appearance, showing no signs of being older at all.
"Are you sure you don't want to use a wheelchair?" He asked as he took my hand out of the room.
"I had to learn to walk, the doctor advised, though I said.
I could see Gruvv's lips moving forward and his pheromone scent changing.
He's disappointed.
I once asked him if the people who work here are also Alphas like him. He replied that everyone who works here is just a Beta. Apart from the people who work with him outside, there is no Alpha or Omega in the House.
I understand why they don't bother with the smell of his pheromones scattered throughout the House. I didn't ask, but I think Gruvv can control his other hormones. There was a time when he spread his pheromones all over the house, even though he was in his room.
Beta doesn't have pheromones and also cannot smell the pheromones that Omega or Alpha have.
We did our usual activities, and GrGruvv accompanied us to the garden. Watching gardeners water and care for flowers, or just sitting in the backyard looking at the fish pond while reading a book.
Our talk about my offer to become a decoy so my father would come out of hiding went unanswered. He just said he'd think about it again. I don't know the real reason why Gruvv took me to his house and saved me from the Madam.
He said he didn't intend to sell me.
"Gruvv.." I called him when we were having a hot cup of tea.
He's chewing some sweet cake now. Unpredictably, he has a big, muscular body, a fierce face, but his pheromone scent was so sweet, and he had a sweet tooth, too.
"Yes?"
"What's your plan?"
I could see him flinching. he stopped chewing and looked at me, confused.
"Can't you enjoy your day without asking me what I want?" His tone turned colder, and he looked at me with a spleen.
I couldn't accept someone coming so nice to me, saving me, a nd just letting me wander around inside their house, enjoying every facility without any ulterior motive. I could not help being suspicious.
"Didn't you say you saved me because you want to find my father?"
Gruvv clenched his fists, his face hardened, and could smell his altered pheromones again. He's really angry.
"I don't want to talk about it, it's my day off. Can you just sit back and enjoy the day until tomorrow?"
I didn't say anything more; the pheromones were suffocating me. I know he's angry, but does it have to be that angry because of my question?
There was a strange feeling inside me. It was inconvenient; this comfort was like slowly killing me. I'm afraid, if it's too comfortable, that whatever happens later will break me.
I coughed, and flower petals splashed out of my mouth. As Gruvv hurried to grab the tissue he always carried with him everywhere, he put it in my mouth, leaving the petals of the red flower in his grasp.
My chest hurts. This disease, I'll never be cured of. I know. The person who made me have this disease already has people he loves. My love will never reach him.
I continued to cough and spit out flower petals as the shadow of the person I loved slowly appeared inside my head.
"We can't be together, Shiloh. My family set me up with someone else. Goodbye."
