"If you don't believe me, you can call my dad now. He will give you the explanation you need."
Susan Mu said coolly.
"Ok, then I think Helga has his reason to put Philip in Muce Group. But he is not in China now; there is no need to trouble him."
Sean Han declined, bowing his head and pretending to cough.
He would not talk to Helga. Only when Helga--the founder of Muce, was not at home can he have the nerve to challenge Susan.
As the president of Muce Group, Susan was responsible for the board. Therefore, Sean had the right and justification for asking for an explanation.
However, Helga was the chairman who had the most significant words in the board of directors.
Now that Philip was recruited by Helga personally and the Muce Group was founded by Helga as well, there's no point in arguing about the regulation. It's Helga who made the decision.
Sean knew that at least now, he could not question Helga for this trivial matter.
After all, their ambitions and fights with Susan remained hidden. If he had challenged Helga at this point, he would have declared wars on Susan.
This situation was not what Sean wanted. Although they controlled many of the group's departments, Helga had been operating Muce for many years, and Susan was not just a simple girl. He would not battle with Susan publicly before he was well-prepared.
As the saying goes, "Business is war without bullets."
Even so, it's not easy to make Sean give in. He mentioned that Helga was not at home, trying to suggest that Susan stop using Helga to intimidate him.
Challenged by Sean and other directors, Susan still had the capabilities to maintain the Muce Group. She was intelligent enough to understand Sean's subtext.
Indeed, she initially hoped to warn Sean, but she never intended to achieve that by Helga's name. This woman trusted herself very much.
"Thank you for your kindness. That's right. My father wants to have a good rest during his world trip. In his words, he deserves a comfortable life after exhaustion for years. Due to your great contribution, if you want to take a break one day, you two can relax together."
Susan refuted his words immediately.
Sean's face changed. Susan was suggesting that he was old and should not be too greedy.
His shares in the Muce Group was enough for him to have a comfortable resignation life. As long as his future generations spent freely, they would not have any problem with food.
He already had many achievements, both fame and wealth. However, Sean was very ambitious and greedy. He wanted to possess more.
Honestly, if directors, including Sean, were willing to assist Susan in the past two years, the Muce Group would be much larger than it was at this point, or even double its performance.
To a certain extent, by then, the wealth of Sean and others would increase accordingly.
However, people were selfish. Compared with having more money, they wanted a group that belonged to them.
"I'm old, but I won't let others bully my son. Miller is still in the hospital. I need you to give me a reasonable explanation."
This time, Sean said more gently than before, "Now that Helga recommended Philip, he could stay in Muce, but he must apologize to Miller."
In reality, before coming to the company, Sean had promised Miller that he would expel Philip, but he couldn't do so because of Helga.
"This matter took place in the company, so I'm partly responsible. I will visit Miller after work, and the company will bear all costs in the hospital. As for Philip's apology..."
Susan seemed a bit difficult. She had predicted that once mentioning Helga, Sean would probably let this go. Asking Philip to apologize was apparently to keep Han's family's face. But Philip was such a tough guy, and it's almost impossible to let him say sorry.
Seeing her response, Sean said coldly, "Why? You don't want to agree with such an easy requirement? Yeah, he was called by the chairman of this company. But that doesn't justify his assault. He has no privilege to beat some without any responsibility. I need an apology to my son. That's my bottom line!"
At the end of the talk, Sean was a little bit angry.
If Helga did not recruit Philip, Sean would call for the rest of the directors together to challenge Susan. At that time, on the board meeting, firing Philip would never be enough.
But now Susan was hesitant about his solution, which makes Sean very angry.
Feeling that Sean was almost on the verge of freaking out, Susan knew that she should say yes. But she could not. Thinking of Philip's yell at her this morning, she understood what kind of person Philip was.
If she agreed with Sean's request, Philip would hate her more. That would make their marriage more vulnerable.
However, if she rejected Sean's proposal at this moment, she would completely offend Sean. That would intensity their potential conflicts and exert a bad influence on Muce's development.
Susan was caught in a dilemma. Her silence and Sean's heavy gasps no doubt exacerbated the terrible atmosphere in the office.
At this point, someone was knocking on the door. That turned out to be Vivian Ling, a pretty woman who wore a bright silver professional attire. Getting Susan's approval, she pushed in.
Her arrival greatly relieved the unusual atmosphere.
Everyone in the Muce Group knew that Vivian was Susan's right hand, and Miller Han was hitting her.
No one was more suitable than Vivian to interrupt their conversation now.
"The secretary told me that you are here. If I guessed right, you're coming to demand a solution."
The two women exchanged glances, and then Vivian sat down beside Susan.
Sean took a few deep breaths, calmed his anger, and said, "Vivian, you're coming at the right time. Say something. Philip punched Miller in the workplace. Don't you think he owes Miler an apology?"
"Um, that's right. But I think Miller owes an apology to Rain as well. After all, Miller barged into the General Affairs Department and pushed Rain at first. That's why Philip punched him. Perhaps your son needs to apologize to Rain first."
Despite not as cold as Susan's, there was a wave of faint anger in Vivian's words.
