We remained in that position... his hand still gripping mine in a tight hold that it felt like my wrist couldn’t breathe now. Our faces are inches apart, and it got me more sweaty than I hoped. I have given him an answer, so why hasn’t he let me go? I don’t think I can bear this closure, mostly because I was uncomfortable with his presence, and also the dark aura that only I can see radiated off his body like a dark mist chilled my bones.
After what seemed like minutes, he tilted his head to the side with still no response. That was when fear built within me... does he know I lied? Can he tell? Is that why he’s silent? Maybe I shouldn’t have lied, but it was a defense for me. I don’t know what this man intends to do with me, but I would make my death quick before he breaks me in any way. That was yet another promise I made to myself.
"We are here, Master."
Like the spell was broken and the heavy air was covered with something more breathable, he pulled away. And I was finally able to release a breath I was holding in.
Saying nothing, he opened his door and stepped out. I figured that was a cue for me, so I did the same, and I was dumbfounded by the area we were... it was nothing but a highland of trees, like the tropical part of the city with no houses in sight. Does he live in the forest?
"Come, Ava."
I jumped when he spoke to me. He was behind me until he started walking deeper into the woods. Reluctantly, I turned to Severus, who got out of the car.
"Go ahead Miss Ava, I’m right behind," he said only and more perplexity filled me as I turned my gaze back to the path I was supposed to follow so I took a step forward and a step turned to walk but on the way, I looked behind and still found Severus standing next to the car with no intention of coming, I thought he said he would be behind me?
I do not understand these people at all. So I kept my eyes forward and all questions flooded out of my head when I took in the view of the beautiful forest, the grasses were so green and the flowers sprouted out beautifully, I knew this city had beautiful wildlife, back at the orphanage there was a forest next to it and I always found comfort by being there, just sitting, humming to myself and watching the skies, it gives me nothing but peace.
"I do not care if you’re mute."
I brought my eyes to my owner, who walked ahead of me.
"I only care about your use."
My use?
He stopped, and I did too.
The wind came harshly blowing everything around us, and I couldn’t help but stare in amazement as his long silver hair waved along with it. It was more beautiful in the highlights and shiny. Such hair shouldn’t exist, but this man has it.
I gasped when he suddenly grabbed my wrist and pulled me to him., I was caught between shock and awe, and my eyes were wide.
"Show me your work.h"
My eyes trembled at his words, but I was more stunned by something like a whirlpool of air forming behind him and turning dark with every spin. I was scared now, mostly as he pulled me closer to it, and I shut my eyes in fear, awaiting the worst as we walked through it.
It felt like I was floating, but I didn’t dare open my eyes because I thought I could fall to my death. But my owner’s hand was tightly secured on mine; they were so big and for some odd reason, I felt safe by it.
I only felt air blowing against my face until there was none, and next it was something dropping on my face, it was soft like a... snow?
I opened my eyes, and it was blurry at first, but it became clear, and a gasp escaped me. How was this possible? We were in the woods a minute a, and now it was snowing. L ike the winter seas, and that wasn’t enough to ease my amazement, but the big gate before us and two lamp posts standing tall before the gate, and the different weather there.
Warm weather, with the green grasses, embodied on the gate, clean white iron, with something inscribed on it, but I didn’t know what it said.
My awe ceased when my owner walked t,o it and I followed in extreme awe and puzzlement.
The gates automatically opened the moment they got close to them, with the plants around them that acted as a lock slowly unwoven and making the gates shift backward. This must be some sort of dream, I must be bedreaming, or I must be d, dead because there was no way this could be happening.
It was a long walk on the concrete ground, and the more we walked, the closer I got to a closer view of the biggest building I have ever seen, wide and reaching the skies. The skies were bright... All sunny than the cold area we came from, it was a whole new world, the building was shaped like a box, a continuous shape to the very top, and what made it more magical was the plants and flowers growing on the buildings and windows, giving it a surreal vie,w and the colorful birds settling on it.
At the center of the enormous compound was a water fountain sprouting shiny water and Water Lilies at the round mask of water. More birds chirped; it was so loud, but also comforting.
It was so beautiful to the point I had to stop and just observe such a captivating sight that I never thought I would set my eyes on, the feeling in my chest of seeing something amazing that I thought I would never get to see.
And it caused a tear to slide down my cheek. If I’m dead, then it was a perfect death, and this is heaven...
