Raymond didn't utter a word about the indifference of Savannah's family.
He quietly accompanied them to the Yale residence.
As soon as they exited the taxi, they spotted a bright red Ferrari parked from afar at the entrance.
Amidst a cluster of cars worth tens of thousands, the million-dollar sports car was dazzlingly eye-catching.
"What are you staring at? That's the car of Selina's husband, Isaac Quinny!"
Lily snapped, noticing Raymond's gaze fixed on the Ferrari.
"You're such a pathetic loser! How could you possibly compete with someone like him? Even if you licked his shoes, he'd probably complain about your dirty mouth!"
Raymond averted his gaze, saying nothing.
It was just a Ferrari. Influential figures would rush to gift him a car if he wanted one.
"What kind of expression is that? Are you still not convinced? With your incompetence, you'll never catch up to him!"
Lily bristled at Raymond's indifferent demeanor.
"Mom, can you stop already? We've heard your complaints for years. They are wealthy, and that's their business. Why must you compare?"
Savannah's brows knitted tightly as she interjected.
"Savanah, don't blame me. What does Selina have to compare with you? She's far behind you, whether her looks, temperament, or ability."
Despite Savanah's complaint, Lily continued relentlessly.
"But she got lucky and married Isaac, a good husband. Look at you, being dragged down by this loser..."
"Enough, everyone, stop talking!"
Alvin interrupted, clearly annoyed, his face darkening.
"Savannah, this loser has tarnished our family's reputation. We can't keep him! Levi has promised that he'll marry you as soon as you divorce."
Raymond's expression turned cold when he heard the name Levi when he heard the name Levi, and a murderous intent surged in his eyes.
Levi Zerbe was Savannah's college classmate, who had always admired her.
Raymond had long discovered that five years ago, Levi orchestrated events behind the scenes, leading to his imprisonment.
"Dad, Mom, I beg you, stop worrying about me, okay?"
Savannah glanced at her parents disapprovingly, then turned to Raymond, as if defending herself, "Levi and I are just friends. There's nothing between us."
"Haha, Savannah, I think Levi's pretty decent," a voice chimed in just as Savannah finished speaking.
"At least, he's better than the criminal standing next to you!"
Following the voice, Raymond and the others saw John accompanying a young couple approaching. The man was handsome, the woman alluring.
It was none other than Savannah's cousin, Selina Yale, and her husband, Isaac.
The speaker was Selina.
"Savannah, why are you still with this useless guy who just got out of prison?" John taunted.
"This is my business. It has nothing to do with you!"
Savannah could sense the sarcasm in their words and chose to ignore it.
"Hmph, I see him as bad luck."
Isaac shot a scornful look at Raymond. "Mr. Brodie was muddle-headed, adopting such a stray. I think he brought demise to the Santee family."
"What did you say?"
Raymond's eyes flashed with killing intent as he glared at Isaac.
Raymond could tolerate John and Selina's insults, pretending not to hear.
However, Isaac's insult to Brodie was intolerable.
"You…"
Isaac flinched, instinctively stepping back a few paces when he felt Raymond's intimidating aura.
Wasn't Raymond supposed to be an easy target? When did he become so imposing?
Despite his alarm, he kept a tough front. "What? Did I say something wrong? You are bad luck!"
"You're asking for it!"
Raymond's face darkened with murderous intent.
As a Dragon War God, Raymond had spent the past five years on the battlefield, killing countless enemies.
He wouldn't let an insolent rich kid off the hook. Anyone who dared to challenge him would be eliminated.
"Halt!"
Just as Raymond advanced on Isaac, a stern voice rang out. It was the voice of Sophia.
"Grandma!"
"Mom!"
As Sophia walked out with a stern face, everyone hurried to greet her.
"Raymond, you're quite bold in showing disrespect to Isaac!"
Sophia sternly reprimanded Raymond.
"Grandma…"
Raymond began, only to be cut off by Sophia. "Silence! You're not worthy to call me grandma. Our Yale family doesn't have a grandson-in-law like you!"
"Mom! You're right. This kind of person disgraces our family name. I think…"
Alvin and Lily were overjoyed, ready to speak, but Sophia glared at them.
"You shut up too! Do you think I don't want to kick this loser out? But your father arranged the marriage with Savannah. If I allow a divorce, wouldn't that be sorry to your deceased father?"
Sophia's words left Alvin and Lily speechless.
A hush fell over the scene.
"Isaac is not only our family's son-in-law but also the young master of the Quinny family. You, a worthless fool, dare disrespect him? That's disrespecting the Quinny family! I order you now to kneel and apologize to Isaac!"
Sophia demanded haughtily, pointing at Raymond.
Her words shocked everyone.
Although Isaac had a prestigious status, he and Raymond were both sons-in-law of the Yale family.
Even if Sophia was biased, she couldn't favor one so blatantly, demanding Raymond kneel to Isaac.
Savannah's face turned pale, her body trembling slightly, while Alvin and Lily's expressions darkened.
On the other hand, Isaac, John, and Selina were delighted, ready to enjoy the spectacle.
Raymond, however, stood there unmoved, as if he hadn't heard anything.
Kneel? Who was worthy of such a gesture?
"Raymond, are you deaf? Grandma told you to kneel and apologize to Isaac. Did you hear?"
John's face darkened, and he lifted his foot to kick at the back of Raymond's knee.
"Watch out!"
Savannah exclaimed in shock.
She had endured five years of a lonely marriage for Raymond, harboring resentment, but he was still her husband in name.
She couldn't watch him be humiliated.
Whoosh!
Savannah's warning was unnecessary.
As John's foot lashed out, Raymond moved swiftly, grabbing his ankle and yanking it.
"Aah!"
Unable to stop himself, John was pulled into a split, collapsing to the ground with a cry, unable to stand.
This scene stunned everyone, leaving them dumbfounded.
Raymond dared to offend Isaac and lay hands on John, the family's future heir, before Sophia.
Did he think the Yale family had no rules?
"You… How dare you!"
Sophia was so angry her face flushed red. She banged her cane on the ground.
"Grandma, you must seek justice for me! If we don't kick this fool out today, our family will never have peace!"
John seized the opportunity to feign grievance, pleading to Sophia.
"This…"
Though Sophia was furious, she was rational and wouldn't rashly order Raymond to be expelled from the Yale family.
Isaac received a phone call as the tension in the room grew palpable.
"Grandma, Mr. Linnit is about to arrive. Let's not worry about this fool for now. We should focus on welcoming Mr. Linnit."
After the call, Isaac hurriedly informed Sophia.
"Alright!"
Sophia nodded in agreement, casting a harsh glance at Raymond.
"I'll deal with you later!"
A Rolls-Royce pulled up at the hotel entrance as soon as Sophia finished speaking.
The car door opened, and as the elderly man, flanked by several bodyguards, appeared at the entrance, Sophia quickly adopted a gracious smile and stepped forward to greet him.
The elderly man was Samuel Linnit, a tycoon in Vonio's business world and chairman of Starlight Group.
Seeing Samuel, Raymond furrowed his brows slightly, quickly typing a message on his phone.
"What are you still standing there for? Didn't you see Mr. Linnit arrive?"
Alvin's face filled with anger as he shouted at Raymond, who stood there playing with his phone.
Raymond offered a wry smile and had no choice but to follow the Yale family to greet Samuel.
