Keenan nodded and reached out to help Peyton up. "There's no need to address me politely. We studied under the same mentor. Let's keep it casual."
Peyton had visited Keenan's mentor in the second prison, so Keenan had met him before.
Keenan's mentor, Warren, had always described Peyton as a disappointing student who hadn't grasped the basics.
"You're too kind," Peyton replied with an awkward smile, a hint of shame flashing across his face.
He was just a nominal student of Warren, having learned only a smattering of medical skills.
He was not Warren's true student, so he felt unworthy of claiming peerage with Keenan.
"Mr. Jauncy, can you truly save my grandpa?" Valentina asked after a long pause, hope stirring within her.
The other members of the Sanderson family also looked at Keenan with eager anticipation.
Seeing Peyton's respect for Keenan had sparked a glimmer of hope in them.
"Of course, I can save him." Keenan declared confidently, opening the acupuncture kit on the table with a wave.
Seven silver needles shot out simultaneously, deftly caught between his fingers.
Whoosh!
With a flick of his wrist toward Andy, the needles darted through the air like darts, embedding themselves precisely in the acupuncture points on Andy's forehead and abdomen.
The scene unfolded so quickly that Keenan had completed the procedure before anyone could register what was happening.
"His chronic illness seems like a simple blockage of the meridians at first. But the real issue lies in his liver dysfunction, which has impaired his detoxification process. Over the years, toxins have accumulated, forming an ailment that defies treatment."
Keenan's performance left everyone completely stunned.
Peyton gulped, his eyes nearly popping out. "This is the Flying Needle Technique and the Creation of the Seven-Star Needle!"
The Creation of the Seven-Star Needle was an acupuncture technique thought to have been lost for a long time.
Peyton had only heard of it in the past and witnessed it for the first time today, which deepened his admiration for Keenan.
After about a minute, a viscous, dark substance began to trickle from the corner of Andy's mouth.
"It's done," Keenan said, feeling the time was right. He stepped forward and carefully removed the needles from Andy's body.
Valentina quickly used a tissue to clean the dark residue from her grandfather's mouth.
Andy exhaled deeply, a look of relief washing over his face. "Thank you, Mr. Jauncy. I suddenly feel much better, and the pain in my chest is gone."
For the first time in years, he felt truly at ease.
The Sanderson family was overwhelmed with emotion at Andy's words.
Keenan had cured a complicated illness in a matter of moments.
Keenan picked up the prescription he'd prepared earlier and handed it to Valentina. "Follow this prescription. Boil three bowls of water down to one, and take it daily for a week. He will be fully recovered."
The Sanderson family members were full of gratitude, their voices laced with regret. "Dr. Jauncy, we're incredibly thankful. Earlier, we..."
However, before they could finish, Keenan impatiently waved them off. "Enough with the formalities. I'm merely repaying a favor for my mentor. You all can leave now."
The Sanderson family was momentarily stunned by Keenan's abrupt dismissal, their words of praise caught in their throats.
Valentina was the first to break the awkward silence. "Alright, Mr. Jauncy. We'll take our leave now."
She had met Keenan the previous day and knew this was just his nature.
Valentina gave Keenan a deep bow, then turned to wheel her grandfather out of the courtyard.
"Thank you for your immense kindness, Dr. Jauncy." The rest of the Sanderson family followed suit, bowing deeply before departing.
Peyton stepped forward, his face flushed with determination. "Mr. Jauncy, I have an immodest request. I hope... I hope you will accept me as your student."
He knew Warren would never accept him as a student.
Learning under Keenan would be far more beneficial, even if only occasionally.
Hearing this, Keenan was slightly taken aback. He hadn't expected Peyton to make such a request.
"I have no intention of taking on students at the moment," Keenan replied bluntly.
Peyton's expression turned awkward, but he still bowed respectfully. "In that case, I won't disturb you further, Mr. Jauncy. If you ever decide to take on students, please get in touch with me!"
With that, Peyton respectfully took his leave and exited the courtyard.
Once the Sanderson family had left, they exchanged puzzled glances.
They were, after all, a top-tier family in Seaview City, yet Keenan had asked for nothing in return. His character was indeed peculiar.
Andy weakly advised, "Valentina, although Mr. Jauncy didn't ask for a fee, we can't truly leave him without a token of thanks. Prepare a suitable gift for him."
Valentina's eyes sparkled with understanding, and she smiled. "Of course, Grandpa."
Two hours later, Keenan had just stepped outside the courtyard when he spotted a Rolls-Royce parked at the entrance.
Valentina emerged from the car, her face adorned with a gentle smile, starkly contrasting her previous demeanor.
Keenan looked puzzled. "Is there something else?"
Valentina retrieved a card from her pocket, smiling softly. "Mr. Jauncy, the Sanderson family has prepared a gift for you. This is the key to the Lakeview Pavilion at St. Royal Court. It's fully furnished and ready for you to move in. We hope you will accept it without hesitation."
With that, Valentina pressed the villa's access card into Keenan's hand, leaving no room for refusal.
St. Royal Court was a highly exclusive villa district in the city center, especially the Lakeview Pavilion, which was valued at over a hundred million during its initial sale years ago.
Its current market value has only increased.
Keenan shrugged. "Alright, I won't refuse then."
Valentina beamed with joy at his acceptance.
Keenan had abruptly dismissed them earlier, yet he accepted their gift without reservation.
He seemed straightforward, not harboring any ill will toward the Sanderson family.
Valentina then drove Keenan to St. Royal Court.
Before long, the Rolls-Royce pulled up at the Lakeview Pavilion in the heart of the estate.
As the garage door opened, Keenan's expression shifted slightly.
The garage was spacious, comfortably accommodating eight cars without feeling cramped.
Stepping out of the garage, they entered the villa.
It spanned three stories and even featured an elevator.
The decor was exquisitely luxurious, and the house had a garden in front and a pool behind. It was indeed a high-end residence.
As Keenan surveyed the opulent surroundings, he was nearly dazzled by the lavish interiors.
"It's quite impressive," he acknowledged with a satisfied nod.
"I'm delighted that you like it, Mr. Jauncy," Valentina replied, her voice brimming with happiness.
