The guests began to whisper among themselves.
Even though many were aware of Aya's messy personal life, nobody dared to bring it up.
It was like a slap in the face to the Webberlye family.
Elisa couldn't hold back any longer and furiously shouted at the nearby bodyguards, "Beat this little punk to death!"
Hearing this, about eight Webberlye bodyguards quickly surrounded Keenan.
Wham!
Finn slammed the table at that moment. "Back off, all of you! Haven't we made fools of ourselves enough already?"
The guests were all watching. If this continued, the Webberlye family would be embarrassed.
All Finn wanted now was to get rid of Keenan as soon as possible.
The bodyguards exchanged glances and hurriedly stepped back.
Finn squinted at Keenan, his face twitching with annoyance. "You came to the Kirk-Webberlye engagement party today just to extort some money, right?"
He signaled to the butler, "Give him a check of 50,000 dollars and make him hand over the marriage certificate!"
"Yes, Mr. Finn!" The butler immediately took out a checkbook, scribbled a few lines, and tossed it at Keenan's feet, saying, "Take this 50,000 dollars and hand over the marriage certificate!"
Keenan chuckled at the Webberlye family's audacity, "Finn, do you think I need your measly money?"
Finn's expression turned grim. "What, you think it's not enough? Don't push your luck, or I won't be so polite!"
Elisa shook her head disdainfully, her eyes filled with scorn. "A worthless ex-con like you will never earn 50,000 dollars in a lifetime. Don't push your luck!"
Before Keenan could respond, Aya stepped forward, snatched the marriage certificate from his hand, tore it into pieces, and threw them on the ground.
"Well done!" Keenan suddenly burst into laughter, filled with mockery and coldness, "Finn, Aya, I hope you won't regret your decision."
Aya sneered. "Let me tell you, I'll never regret it. I would never marry a loser like you in any lifetime!"
The crowd shot disdainful looks at Keenan, pointing at him.
The Webberlye family had engaged with the prestigious Kirk family. Keenan had the nerve to cause trouble at their engagement party. He deserved to be publicly humiliated.
Just then, a shout came from outside the villa. "The Sanderson family has arrived!"
The announcement surprised everyone, and all heads turned to the door.
A middle-aged man with gold-rimmed glasses and a beautiful young woman entered slowly.
The young woman's elegant demeanor and stunning figure completely overshadowed Aya.
As the young woman walked into the banquet hall, every other woman seemed to fade into the background.
"That's Dorian and Valentina from the top-tier Sanderson family. Why are they here?"
"Ms. Sanderson is stunning. No wonder she's famed as the beauty of the upper echelons."
"Are they here for the engagement party? My goodness, the Kirk and Webberlye families have truly outdone themselves by inviting the Sanderson family."
The guests were stunned, and many young men ogled Valentina with envy.
Finn hurried over with a beaming smile. "The Sanderson family gracing our humble abode truly brings us honor."
Aya also pushed past Keenan, wearing a sycophantic smile.
The Webberlye family, the Kirk family, and all the elite guests rushed to greet Dorian and Valentina, hoping to exchange a few words.
The Sanderson family was the pinnacle of prestigious circles, and Andy was the wealthiest man in Seaview City.
Everyone dreamed of forging ties with the Sanderson family.
However, Dorian and Valentina brushed past the crowd, scanning the hall before walking straight to Keenan.
Dorian extended a hand to Keenan. "Mr. Jauncy, I didn't expect to find you here."
A thunderous shock silenced the room as the guests were stunned by the scene before them.
They had assumed Dorian and Valentina were here for the engagement, but clearly, that wasn't the case.
Were they here to see Keenan?
How could the Sanderson family possibly know this pauper?
Judging by their demeanor, they seemed pretty fond of Keenan.
What on earth was going on?
Equally surprised, Keenan shook Dorian's hand, not expecting the Sanderson family to seek him out.
He inquired, "How is your father's health now?"
Dorian nodded excitedly. "In just a day, my father can walk again. Mr. Jauncy, you truly have a healing touch."
Finn scurried over, uncertainly eyeing Dorian. "Mr. Sanderson, how do you know this guy?"
Dorian glanced at Finn indifferently. "Mr. Jauncy is a great benefactor and friend of the Sanderson family."
Aya hurried over, her face twitching. "Mr. Sanderson, surely you must be joking? How could you possibly associate with a poor ex-convict like him?"
Upon hearing this, Valentina's face darkened instantly. "So what if he's been to prison? Even if Mr. Jauncy were still incarcerated, the Sanderson family would still befriend him."
Upon entering, Dorian and Valentina sensed the Webberlye family's hostility toward Keenan and thus showed them no kindness.
Aya waved her hands frantically. "Ms. Sanderson, you've misunderstood. I meant, with your family's status, Keenan isn't worthy of your friendship."
Valentina's expression grew even colder as she retorted, "Who are you to dictate who the Sanderson family can befriend?"
Aya's face turned pale, and she dared not retaliate despite being scolded.
However, displeased by Valentina's words, Elisa pouted. "We hope the Sanderson family won't associate with such unsavory characters. Don't mistake our intentions."
Valentina turned to Elisa, her eyes narrowing. "What did you say?"
Cold sweat dripped from Finn's forehead as he immediately scolded Elisa, "Apologize to Ms. Sanderson now!"
Elisa remained defiant, mumbling, "Grandpa, did I say anything wrong? Keenan..."
Smack!
Before Elisa could finish, Finn slapped her hard, causing her to stumble and fall to the ground.
