But when Ian glanced over his shoulder, there was nothing there but empty air.
Suddenly, a gust of wind whipped past him from the front, making him spin around in alarm. A shadowy figure was already upon him.
It was Elijah!
"You idiot! How dare you mess up my plans? Go to hell!" Elijah shouted, shoving Ian hard.
"Ah!" Caught off guard, Ian tumbled right off the cliff.
Gotta admit, Elijah's acting just now was Oscar-worthy. He had taken a punch from Ian and knew this fool was not easy to deal with, so he pretended to see something terrifying, tricking Ian into thinking a demon was behind him, then ambushing him at just the right moment.
With acting that good, even a regular person, not just someone as gullible as Ian, would've fallen for it in a place like the Demon Sealing Cave.
Not far away, Yvonne heard Ian's scream, turned around, and saw him plunging into the Demon Sealing Cave. She went pale with shock. "You dummy!" The woman felt her heart shatter. Tears streamed down her face as she raced back without thinking.
Over the years, she and Ian had always relied on each other, building a strong sibling bond. Now, watching Ian fall into the Demon Sealing Cave to save her, her heart broke into pieces.
When Elijah saw Yvonne coming back, his eyes lit up with excitement. He dashed over, grabbed her, and dragged her into the bushes.
"Let me go! Somebody help! Help!" Yvonne kicked and screamed, doing everything she could to break free. But out here in the middle of nowhere, there was nobody around to hear her scream.
Now completely out of control, Elijah was about to get what he wanted and had no plans to let Yvonne go. He figured he'd already killed Ian, so he might as well go all the way. After he was done, he'd kill Yvonne too.
Yvonne was overwhelmed by grief, despair, and terror. Ian's fate was uncertain, and she was now trapped in Elijah's clutches with no escape. The thought of Elijah taking away her first time made her want to die.

The farther Ian fell, the faster he went. But just before he hit the bottom, a powerful gust of air rushed up and slowed his fall.
Thud!
Ian landed hard, his head smacking into a rock. Luckily, he wasn't badly hurt- just a little dazed before he came to.
"Hey, give me a hand, will you?" Suddenly, a beautiful woman's voice echoed from deeper in the cave.
Ian looked toward the voice and immediately felt a chill run down his spine.
There, he saw a breathtakingly beautiful woman in a white, flowing gown! Four black chains shackled her wrists and ankles, each one anchored deep into the stone walls around her. What was even creepier was that the chains sparkled and crackled, like they were electrified!
"Are you human... or a demon?" Ian stammered, his voice shaking.
"Of course I'm human," the beautiful woman replied.
It was actually she who sent out that burst of air with her palms, softening Ian's fall; otherwise, he'd be dead by now.
"How can a human be this gorgeous? You're not... you're not that legendary demon, are you?" Ian said, breaking out in a cold sweat.
No regular person could be this beautiful- only a demon could look like that. He couldn't believe it. The legends were true. There really was a demon under the Demon Sealing Cave!
