Melanie left abruptly, clearly stating that her impression of Idris had only worsened.
Idris felt helpless, but couldn't stand by and let something happen to Melanie. With just one month left, he had to find a way to break the Ghost Curse on Melanie.
Since this was Melanie's Angel Hospital, Idris could rest without worrying about hospital or medical bills.
Idris was about to get some rest and take his time studying the secrets of the Eight Mystic Diagram when suddenly, angry shouting erupted from outside the room. "You bunch of heartless quacks! I'll kill you!"
"Ahh!" A woman's scream rang out, and Idris's expression changed instantly. "Melanie!"
He jumped off the bed, moving like he hadn't just been badly hurt.
He rushed to the door and saw a man in his thirties, eyes red with rage, waving a fruit knife. He had injured several doctors and nurses.
At that moment, the man's eyes flashed with a vicious light as he lunged at Melanie with the knife.
Melanie had never been through anything like this. She stood there in shock, frozen.
Just as the knife was about to stab her in the chest, a hand grabbed the blade, and blood immediately streamed from the palm, dripping down the wrist onto the floor.
Bam!
Idris kicked the man square in the chest, sending him flying several feet across the room.
The man clutched his chest, spat out a mouthful of blood, then collapsed on the floor, crying out in pain, "You useless doctors, give me back my daughter's life!"
Idris was surprised by how strong his kick was. He'd even forgotten about his injured hand until Melanie yelled, "Idris, your hand!"
Idris sucked in a sharp breath. "Man, that hurt!"
Seeing the pain on Idris's face, Melanie felt moved.
Maybe Idris wasn't perfect, but at least he had the guts to risk his life to protect a woman. He wasn't useless after all.
Melanie immediately grabbed some disinfectant and gauze and carefully wrapped up Idris's hand.
Seeing Melanie carefully bandaging his hand, Idris felt like getting hurt wasn't a bad deal.
He didn't know that the cut on his palm started healing after Melanie finished bandaging him.
"What's going on?" As soon as Melanie finished treating Idris, she turned and asked sharply, "Which patient's family is he from?"
A doctor in his forties stepped up, looking furious. "His daughter had a high fever and was already in bad shape when she got here. I did the usual things to bring her fever down. How is that my fault? The guy went crazy and hurt people! Call the cops, he should go to jail!"
Idris ignored the doctor and immediately focused on the hospital ward.
As his eyes flashed red, he sensed a life slipping away inside.
"She's not dead yet!" Idris rushed in and saw a little girl lying on the bed, not breathing.
But Idris could still feel a trace of life in her, so he shouted, "Somebody, quick! Get me some acupuncture needles! I can save her!"
