"Mr. Moore!" Just then, a middle-aged couple rushed into the office like a gust of wind. As soon as they came in, they fell to their knees with a thud. The woman grabbed Dawson's hand and started sobbing. "Mr. Moore, please save my child! I'll do anything to repay you... Oh, my poor boy..."
"Yes, Mr. Moore, we're begging you!" the man pleaded, tears streaming down his face as he bowed his head to the ground over and over. "Please help us find the best doctor. We don't know how much longer our child can make it..."
The man's heartbreaking sobs filled the room, leaving Jonah and Dawson stunned.
It wasn't until some staff from next door rushed in to see what was going on that Dawson finally let out a heavy sigh. He instructed a few staff members to comfort the parents while he paced back and forth, deep in thought.
Spotting the confident-looking Jonah standing nearby, Dawson suddenly stopped and asked, "What was your name again?"
"Jonah Lyson!"
"Jonah, right?" Dawson said, turning to head out. "Come with me. Let's go check on the big-headed baby."
Hearing this, the parents quickly got up and hurried after them, with a few staff members following to ensure everything was safe. They all hurried toward the ICU building.
"The baby has been here for two weeks," Dawson explained seriously as they walked. "He has to get all his nutrition through a feeding tube, but his body just can't absorb it. In fact, he's absorbing less and less, and he throws up at least forty times a day. But we still haven't found anything wrong with him."
Soon, they reached the ICU. With a nurse leading the way, Jonah and Dawson quickly sanitized their hands and put on protective gear before going in.
The big-headed baby looked to be around one or two years old. Jonah's heart skipped a beat when he saw him. The kid was cute, but his head was shockingly out of proportion.
The problem was a huge lump on the left side of the baby's head, about the size of an adult's fist. If you saw it in the wild, you'd be scared for sure.
"It's up to you now," Dawson whispered after seeing Jonah carefully examine the patient.
Jonah nodded, glanced at the weak readings on the electrocardiogram, checked the baby's pulse, looked at his eyes, and gently felt the lump on his head, frowning as he did.
Using Skyler's lifetime of experience, Jonah figured the baby's body was unlike that of most people. He thought maybe the baby's cell density was way lower than usual, so he couldn't even absorb the softest foods. Plus, since the baby was so young, his brain was extra vulnerable, leading to this swelling that looked like edema, which explained why the hospital couldn't find the cause.
After figuring this out, Jonah turned to Dawson and said, "I have a way we can try, but I need to treat him by myself."
Dawson nodded. "Alright. Everyone, let's head out!"
Just then, the baby on the bed suddenly threw up again. After throwing up nonstop for two weeks, he was extremely weak.
Before the nurse could clean up, Jonah rushed over and gently tapped a few acupuncture points on the baby's body with two fingers.
Amazingly, the baby, who usually threw up for several minutes at a time, suddenly stopped.
Everyone looked at each other, then stared at Jonah in shock.
"The baby throws up dozens of times a day, and each time it lasts for minutes. It's almost like clockwork." Dawson adjusted his glasses, looking puzzled. "How did you get him to stop vomiting? Was that the traditional healing method?"
Jonah nodded, glanced at the electrocardiogram, and smiled. "Yes... Nurse, could you record the ECG data? Then, could everyone please step out? I need to treat him alone."
"Do as he says!" Dawson, seeing how confident Jonah was, waved his hand, and everyone filed out.
Once the nurse was done and left, Jonah sat down by the bed, put his hand on the baby's chest, and focused. A gentle stream of inner energy flowed from his palm, moving through the baby's skin and into his organs.
At first, nothing seemed to change, but after five or six minutes, Jonah, growing increasingly impatient, finally saw the ECG readings rise.
