Remy was a straightforward guy.
He always spoke the truth.
The previous Nash couldn't cure Remy's hemorrhoids, which meant his medical skills were mediocre.
Nash stood in the doorway, watching the sun rise and set.
He sat there from morning till night, and finally had to admit that living on Earth was tough.
Even though he was the Immortal Medicine King, nobody cared.
Picking up his stool, Nash got ready to head back to the clinic and rest.
Just then, someone tapped him on the back.
"Hey, is this your clinic?"
Nash turned and saw a tall, skinny guy with dark skin, sunken, bloodshot eyes, and a yellowish complexion.
He was wearing a wrinkled black suit and was staring right at Nash.
"Yeah, that's me. What?" Nash glanced at the guy.
"Can I get something for my back? It's killing me," the guy said.
Nash almost wanted to hug the guy out of excitement.
It had been four days with zero customers.
Now, finally, someone showed up.
"Hey, you've finally arrived! Please, come in!"
Nash dragged the man into the clinic.
The man looked confused.
He just wanted some ointment, but Nash was acting weird.
Despite his thoughts, he followed Nash inside.
"Have a seat! Want some water? Do you smoke?"
Nash was treating the guy like he was a VIP.
"Dude, I'm just here for some ointment. You don't have to roll out the red carpet," the guy said, eyeing Nash suspiciously.
"Of course I do! Customers are king. You walked into my clinic today, so you're my king!" Nash said.
"You said your back hurts, right?" Nash asked, handing over a glass of water.
"Yeah! I'm a cab driver. Sitting all day kills my back. I need something for the pain," the guy explained.
Nash was a little disappointed, but then an idea hit him.
"Your back's the foundation of your whole body! It holds your energy, keeps you going, and helps you breathe right. You can't mess around with back pain!"
The guy looked even more confused.
"So… what are you getting at?"
"Let me give you a full check-up!"
The guy's face fell.
"What? I have back pain, that's all. I'm fine otherwise."
"You don't get it. You're my king today, so I've got to go all out for you! Sit down, and I'll give you a full check-up!" Nash offered.
The guy looked reluctant, but in the end, he sat down anyway.
Before sitting, he asked, "You gonna charge me for this?"
"Relax, you're the king today. The check-up's free!"
Only then did the guy relax.
Once seated, Nash began a comprehensive examination.
The taxi driver was generally healthy, except for a slipped disc and some kidney weakness resulting from prolonged sitting.
"All done with the examination."
"Is there anything seriously wrong with me?" the taxi driver eagerly asked.
"You're in pretty good shape, just a little kidney weakness and some back issues," Nash said.
The mention of kidney weakness made the taxi driver blush a bit.
"Honestly, ever since I started driving cabs, things haven't been great. My wife keeps complaining. Sigh!"
Nash's eyes lit up.
"Want to get your mojo back?"
"I would! But, alas, age and back issues have taken their toll. Now it's just a dream," the taxi driver sighed.
"Come on, you're only in your 40s. That's when guys hit their stride. Let me give you a tonic. It'll fix your back and boost your energy," Nash said, pulling out his Body Strengthening Tonic.
"Really?" The taxi driver looked skeptically at the tonic Nash held.
"My clinic may be small, but I run an honest business. If the tonic isn't effective, I'll pay you back ten times over."
"You can rest assured!" Nash pounded his chest confidently.
The taxi driver felt tempted.
After all, it had been over a year since he had sex with his wife. \
"So, how much is this tonic?" he asked.
"Not much, just 20 dollars," Nash replied.
"What? That's expensive! I earn 20 a day, and this tonic costs that much? No way!" The taxi driver protested upon hearing the price.
"Man, don't rush. We can negotiate. How about a 50% discount?"
The taxi driver still wanted to leave.
"5 dollars, really can't go lower!"
In the end, the taxi driver bought a bottle of Body Strengthening Tonic for just two bucks.
Nash stared at the cash in his hand, almost tearing up.
Finally, he'd made a sale, even if he didn't make a dime.
That's when he remembered Jessie, who gave him 300 bucks every week.
She was seriously worried he'd starve to death.
"Damn, Earth sucks! I want to return to the Dragon Continent."
Nash stared out the window at the distant stars, letting out a howl.
All his big dreams were gone.
If he wanted to return to his world, he had to get his powers back.
Currently, Nash had no cultivation, and Earth was depleted of spiritual energy.
Lying on his small bed, Nash began to ponder.
"Wait! I can start with body training. Those techniques don't need spiritual power. Once I build up my body, I could take on ten, maybe even a hundred guys. I could be a bodyguard or a martial artist. Anything's better than being a broke doctor!"
