After a while, and talked to the villagers. Martin and Takao talked to each other.
"I will retrieve the things that person mentioned. And let the village have it."
"Thank you so much. For every help."
"About the future, you are talking about. What are your plans?"
"I just wanted a good life. A life where I could live happily with the woman I liked."
"Who is she in this village?"
"She's one of those people who watch by the gate."
"I see."
"By the way. Let's talk for a while before you retrieve it. How about you? Don't you have a woman you love? Or a partner?"
"I have. But she's not mine. Yet. I observed nobody told them their surnames."
"Haha. It is because we don't have one! Surnames are only for the nobles after all."
"Then how will they recognize you? I mean. Your identity and which family you belong to?"
"We just told them the name of both of our parents. That is why commoners must know the names of both their parents."
"Isn't it unsafe? Somebody could claim he's you after all."
"Yeah. But it never happens in the village."
"But how about the outside? By the way. Are you in this village your whole life?"
"Actually... Yes. Most elders here never went outside. We're pretty isolated, do you know? But this village is happy even being like that. Since we really couldn't support the expenses of travel. And the
distance we had to go. We don't even know where to get a carriage, so it's pretty much impossible. We could only see a carriage when a merchant arrived and traded our harvest for food."
"I see. That's rather sad. I think."
"Yeah. Kind of."
"I will let you all see the outside. I will make all your dreams come true. If you are all my trusty subordinates. Then I will make you all achieve every single one of your dreams. I never had a friend before.
But you all are friendly towards me. Maybe I could finally make a good friend, and that's you. As the first one. But... Maybe actually second."
"Why?"
"It's because I had one friend before. But that person left me."
"That's sad. Don't worry. We will help you here! Make happiness and stuff."
"Yeah. Very well. Let's retrieve the goods. Let's step outside, that person said it is just a path through the forest."
Takao's voice is always calm. With a bit of seriousness and he always shows a calm face.
They then proceed to walk towards the gate. After stepping outside. A few moments and, Martin found themselves floating.
"W, what's happening?"
"Don't worry. We will just fly."
"Fly?"
"Yeah. Get ready."
"Wait, what do you mean fl–"
They are then launched into the air. Flying at an incredible speed.
Not enough to pass a minute. They managed to get past the forest and found the camp.
"That's it. Hey."
"U, u, umm... I'm fine. I'm just a bit dizzy."
"Sorry about that."
"No. It, it is fine."
They descend. After which, they searched in the camp.
"There are lots of things. Those people are idiots. Putting everything in one spot."
There are three large chests on a spot. One of which contains lots of both vegetables and fruits that seem to be still fresh. On the other hand are fish and meat that are still fresh. Which seems to be their
food supply. The last chest contains a plentiful amount of money.
"T, t, there's a lot of gold!!! We're rich!!!" Said by Martin. This clearly shows his happiness towards the discovery.
"Hey. That is for everyone, right?"
"Yeah. I mean. The village is rich! Just this amount. It could sustain us for years. We could demand the merchant to sell us the expensive carriages, and go to the city!"
"There's no need for the carriages. It's a waste of money."
"Will you lift it. Takao!?"
"Of course. I will. Let's head back."
They head back to the village using the same method.
Upon going back to the village. They first turned invisible and headed back to Martin's house. They got past everyone undetected. Including the chests.
"So now. How will we manage this? Takao?"
"I will manage it. Don't worry, from now on. You will always have feasts."
"That's such a good thing. But can we sustain having feasts every time?"
"I didn't mean daily, though."
"Yeah. Sorry. But... Something's strange. I didn't see the "Manslayer" on our way."
"Manslayer?"
"Yeah. That is the beast. That is living here. It accidentally got here. And some of us died due to being eaten by it when harvesting fruits. And there's also the barbarians, which are now dealt with."
"Oh... I killed it."
"Wait. You did?"
"Yes. I killed it on my way here."
"Oh... That's a huge help."
"Let's go. We will keep the money, but we won't plunder it. I have plans for it."
"Okay. So the foods? We will what?"
"I will let a chef cook it. And then we will distribute to the houses."
"Not all of it right?"
"Of course not. We won't cook all of it, of course."
"Yeah."
He steps outside with two floating chests. Along his way. A child asked him.
"Mister! How could you do that?"
"Oh. This is called Magic."
"Woah. Magic?"
"Yes."
The child then ran back to a woman who seemed to be his mother.
He strode forward until he got to a certain house.
"Hello?"
A woman who seems to be in her forties welcomed him.
"Oh. Isn't it our savior? What brings you here?"
"About these." He put the chests on the floor. The woman then opened them.
"Oh. Where did these come from?"
"From the barbarians. I wanted you to cook it. I hope it will last for a while."
"Of course. It will last for over a season if handled nicely."
"Well. I leave it to you."
"Thank you, then."
"Yes." And he goes back to Martin's house.
