Evelyn Zhao, who originally wanted to say something more, suddenly saw the undisguised ardor in Tyler Luo's eyes, a manifestation of a man's inner wicked fire burning fiercely!
This scared Evelyn Zhao so much that she couldn't continue her words and promptly pushed open the car door to get out.
Tyler Luo, however, swiftly closed the door and said, "That's a good child. Next time, don't just get into a stranger's car." As soon as he finished speaking, and before Evelyn Zhao could respond, Tyler Luo had already driven away in his Audi.
"That jerk, jerk, jerk!" Evelyn Zhao, infuriated, stamped her foot, her cute face full of indignation. But there was nothing she could do; he was already far away.
However,
"I refuse to believe I can't find you with your license plate number!" Evelyn Zhao pouted, clearly unable to let it go. But just as she reached into her pocket, she suddenly realized her phone was missing, "Oh no, I forgot to take it."
She had taken it out to send a message while in the Audi and then left it aside.
"Damn it! Don't let me find you!"
Of course, how could Tyler Luo hear Evelyn Zhao's words? But looking at the pink phone on the passenger seat, he sighed, "This girl only knows how to cause trouble. Should I throw away this phone or keep it?"
Although he had this thought, Tyler Luo decided to keep it. The phone had a screen lock, and although he could open it, he had no interest and decided to wait for her to call.
He parked the car on the side of the road and waited, but Evelyn Zhao never called. "Forget it, if you're not in a hurry, why should I be?"
He shook his head, placed the phone aside, and was about to continue driving home to rest when he saw several people walking in the alleys ahead. At the very end of the alley, he could vaguely see many people setting up stalls.
Though he intended to go back, Tyler Luo, for some reason, got out of the car and walked over.
The alley didn't seem large from the outside, but it opened up to a small square. This place was full of antique shops frequented by people in their thirties and forties. The shops were full of ancient charm. However, Tyler Luo sneered at them, thinking these shops only did business with novices.
Valuable items rarely appeared here.
Tyler Luo was a bit disappointed. He walked down the street, which was filled not only with shops but also many street vendors. The variety of items on display was dazzling, and the place was crowded.
He didn't want to continue walking, but as he was about to leave, he caught sight of a stall by the roadside. The owner, wearing a very loose robe that looked like a monk's cassock but without any pattern, was not bald, but his hair was no more than a centimeter long. Most importantly, he was casually gnawing on a chicken leg.
Of course, this wasn't the main attraction. What drew Tyler Luo's attention were the three jade pendants on the stall. They were crystal clear and impeccably white.
Good jade is never completely free of impurities. Tyler Luo didn't know much about jade, but he understood this much. Yet, this piece of jade looked snow-white and transparent, suggesting it was fake.
The worst part was, the price tag was 5 million yuan!
Yes, 5 million!
Tyler Luo squatted in front of the stall without saying anything. The vendor, still chewing his chicken leg, mumbled, "Look with your eyes, don't touch. This is a jade worth 5 million yuan, and you can't afford it."
"Quite interesting," Tyler Luo smiled but did not heed the warning and picked up one of the jade pendants, "Looks pretty, but seems useless."
"Don't touch if you don't understand!" The vendor didn't act aggressively despite Tyler Luo's behavior and just glanced at him before continuing to eat his chicken leg.
"Huh?" The vendor, with mouth full of meat, seemed to notice something unusual, looking at Tyler Luo curiously before finally smiling, "Young man, I knew at first sight that you are someone with destiny. Do you want to buy a piece of jade as a plaything?"
"Heh, 5 million, can't afford it," Tyler Luo smirked sarcastically.
But the vendor didn't seem to mind and continued, "Since we have such a fate, I'll give you one for 500."
"Do I look like a fool to you?" Tyler Luo rolled his eyes. A jade priced at 5 million yuan, now being offered to me for 500?
The vendor grinned, "If you don't buy it, you might regret it later!" Even as he spoke, bits of chicken were stuck in his teeth, making Tyler Luo involuntarily grimace.
"Forget it, life is full of regrets. I can't afford this piece of jade." Tyler Luo smiled, ready to put the jade back.
Suddenly, the vendor reached out and grabbed Tyler Luo's fist before he could react, preventing him from letting go. The speed was incredibly fast!
Initially intending to say something, Tyler Luo was shocked and looked up at the unremarkable vendor. But no matter how he looked, the vendor seemed like just a scruffy middle-aged man.
"500 is too much for you, how about 300?"
"Fine."
A few hundred yuan wasn't expensive, but the main reason Tyler Luo decided to buy the jade was not because of the jade itself, but because of the vendor's skill.
He had thought the vendor was just an ordinary person, but now it seemed he was very mistaken. This middle-aged man posed a subtle threat to Tyler Luo.
Hearing Tyler Luo's agreement, the vendor let go of his hand and nodded in satisfaction, "Pay up."
"Here's 500 then."
Tyler Luo didn't haggle and took out five hundred-yuan bills from his wallet.
But the vendor only accepted three and handed back the other two hundred, "I said 300, so 300 it is."
"I guess I got a huge bargain then. A perfect jade pendant priced at 5 million yuan, and I got it for just 300," Tyler Luo commented, his eyes full of interest as he observed the middle-aged vendor. However, the vendor didn't say anything, instead, he rolled up his mat, tucked the remaining two jades under his arm, and said, "Earned enough for today, no more vending. See you if destiny allows."
With that, he walked past Tyler Luo and headed towards the other end of the alley.
"Wait a minute!"
Tyler Luo was startled, he was blocking the vendor's way just a second ago, but in the next moment, the vendor had already passed by him?
The more he thought about it, the more alarmed he became, but Tyler Luo couldn't catch up. The middle-aged vendor seemed to have vanished into thin air in the alley, leaving no trace no matter how hard Tyler Luo searched.
"What a strange encounter."
Tyler Luo shook his head. He had never met such a person in all his years, someone whose strength undoubtedly surpassed his own. But why was he selling such jade pendants?
Taking out the jade pendant, Tyler Luo's expression suddenly changed. The once seemingly fake, perfect jade pendant had turned completely black and looked nothing like what he had initially seen.
Tyler Luo couldn't remain calm anymore. It was the strangest thing he had encountered in over a decade.
How could this be?
Was this just a color-changing artificial jade pendant?
But holding the jade pendant, he felt an overall sense of comfort, as if he was in a different realm, making Tyler Luo reluctant to let go.
"I must investigate this matter thoroughly."
After staying in the area for a few minutes, Tyler Luo left. His mind was still full of questions. His primary task was still unresolved, yet he kept encountering strange incidents.
"It seems I can't have a peaceful day today." As Tyler Luo walked out of the alley and headed back towards his Audi, he saw a woman standing next to the car.
She wore a black tank top and denim shorts, her long, slender legs crossed, leaning against the car body, exuding a distinctive charm from afar.
Now Tyler Luo understood why most car models were women, as it's hard to imagine the experience of seeing a burly male model posing suggestively next to a luxury car.
"Why are you here?" Indeed, the woman was Evelyn Zhao!
"You idiot, don't you know modern phones have tracking systems? As long as you don't turn it off, I can find you," Evelyn Zhao glared at Tyler Luo, her eyes as if seeing an enemy.
Tyler Luo shook his head with a smile, "Here's your phone, stop bothering me."
"No way!" Blocking Tyler Luo, Evelyn Zhao stretched out her arms, refusing to let him pass. However, this gesture stretched her already tight tank top even tighter, accentuating her curvaceous and enticing figure.
"What do you want then?" Tyler Luo felt helpless against a woman he couldn't fight or scold.
Perhaps Tyler Luo said something that interested Evelyn Zhao, as her eyes lit up, "Take me for a joyride!"
"No," Tyler Luo refused flatly, his gaze intense but unyielding.
"Why not? I can pay you!"
"Do I look like I need money?" Tyler Luo rolled his eyes.
"I am rich! How about I give you that Porsche we saw earlier?" Evelyn Zhao blinked her bright eyes, a hint of cunning flashing through them.
But Tyler Luo remained unswayed, "Do I look like someone who lacks money?"
"Yep, you do!" Evelyn Zhao nodded sincerely, "How about this, if you agree, I'll be your girlfriend?"
