Chapter 7: Hero

I smile at her words. I love it when Mama bear comes out to play. I know she is looking out for me, but I can't help smiling at the words I know she means. "Mu,m there iy nothing to worry about,I'mm fine, like I said I had a stressful day in school today, you don't need to worry about me." Slookedook like she didn't believe any of my words, but she sighed in defeat. She knows she won't be getting anything tonight. If I know my mum, this matter hhasnot been officially closed till she says so. i Ieave her in the kitchen as I retire to bed. I thought tonight would be one of my sleepless night , but I was wrong. Immediately my body touched the mattress, I drifted off to adreamlesss sleep( alright, I know u can't sleep immediately your body hits the mattress I get i , but trust me I do). David's POV I knew something was wrong the moment entereder our territory. I don't need the goddess to tell me something is wrong. I walk cautiously towards the trees near our hidden pack house * It's just a house that happens to be in a Forested area. This is the place where all the private meetings in the packtakes place* "Do you smell that?" My wolf Dane asks. "Smell what?" I ask, looking around in search of any danger. "The foul scent of a vampire," he says. I didn't detect the smell until Dane voiced it out. As if ona clue, the trees at my right rustled. The threat made me change into my wolf form. I turn and face the approaching vampir,e who is in his full form. Sometimes I wonder why they were even created. There might be good ones out there ,but I'm yet to find one. So fa,r the only ones I've seewillll make you question the sanity of their creator. I growl as he approaches. Instead of cowering in fear, he just laughed ( yes, laughed at an alpha). I knowI am not a complete alpha, but an alpha is still an alph,a no matter the status. "Oh my ,my what am I seeing? A baby Alpha? Come oI'm am too old for this childish stuff. His tricks were far more than I was prepared for, the pain I felt from his blow nearly took the living breath out of me. I know we mind li,nk bit'sits only possible with either members of the clan or with your mate. I charge towards, him ready to show this spoilt brat I'meally made of. My anger clouds my mind to the extent I didn't register aanythingelse around me, but the blood lust. I dodidn'tee the blow till he hit me with his claws. I fell backwards as I hheardbones cracking. I feel dizzy from the impact. It made me ashamed of myself. Is this how I will protect my future mate?? He stalked towards me like a man who knows himself and is proud of who he is, but before he could hit me again, he was thrown to the side. Danny's POV It's been two weeks since I last saw Dave, he hasn't been coming to school and their apartment hhasbeen locked for the past two weeks. Although a teacher told us he went on a cation with his parents, I can't help but feel that something isn't adding up. If he was truly on vacation, why didn't he phone to tell us? Why isn't his parents' cell number available when my mom tried their cell last week? I tried asking the principal about his whereabouts,s and like it turned out, she told the same tale the teacher told us. I left the principal's office disappointed. As I walk towards the cafeteria, I can't help but recall the first time I ate here with Dave. Although he's a pain in the arse, I miss his company. "Excuse me, can Isitt here with you? " a shy voice asks. I scowl as I look up, ready to send the unfortunate girl running for her life but instead of a random girl. I was facing the girl I saved from the rapist last month. "I kneit'sts my hero. I saw your hair from afar and I said myself,lf this is my hero. Seriously? I have never seen such unusual hair. *Her version of unusual hair is your typical black hair but with golden streaks. I love the way the golden rhymes with the black, giving it an unearthly glow.* I blush when she said the hero word. It made me feel powerful. It's really good to be looked up to.
